I have great news...while in Japan, I got an email from a music supervisor I've been in touch with, and she asked me if I had any new music.  I sent over "Heartbeats" since it was recently done.  The weird thing is, I wrote this tune for "I Hate Valentine's Day" which did not make the cut, but happily 2 others of mine did, but I digress.

She passed it on to the other supervisor making the request, and not long after, I got another email asking for a quote for the song to be used in "American Pie: Book Of Love".   Weeks passed, didn't hear much, and I've finally received confirmation that "Heartbeats" will be played during a Stifler scene in the next American Pie movie.

So, WAY back when, in 2006 when I was wee little intern at Universal Music Publishing, my job was to sift through a pile of demos (99% crap) everyday.  My job at the end of my internship was to find the best 10 songs and make a compilation.  So I did.  I added a band named "Gym Class Heroes", "Madeleine Peyroux", "Sara Bareilles", "Adrina Thorpe", "Of Montreal", and "Chester French" amongst others. All unknown at the time.  I actually had to SHAZAM (an iphone application) some songs of the CD while playing in my car, since I lost the cover with the song names which is how I know that song I liked a lot was a demo from "Gym Class Heroes"!!

Ending up getting in touch with D.A. Wallach of Chester French at that time too, to say hello and say I liked their music. That was pretty much it. 

This past week, they twittered my music video link, "Heartbeats" to their followers of 261,000!!  Guess those randomn things you did that never thought would get you anywhere eventually come back to help you out :)

Great news...just received confirmation that "Something You Said" and "Maybe" will be used in a feature film coming out very soon called "I Hate Valentine's Day" starring the lead couple from My Big Fat Greek Wedding!

You know what I'll be doing when it comes out...:)
