Hello All
I have said this before but this time it's real. We will be releasing our new record at the begining of 2010! Sounds far off? It is. It took us a while to figure out what to do with all the material we have recorded the last 2 years. 2 years? Who the fuck do these guys think they are? We're nobody. But, we will have an album from our Cedar Rapids/Iowa City/Marion/Ames/Ian Williams session soon! It has a neat weird little vibe, really 60's-ish songs with harmonies and tambourine. We have the whole thing recorded! Just needs to be mixed and it's on!! It will also be available on Vinyl!! Dead Serious! That will be followed by our epic Huge Pop record we have been working in Cedar Falls for the last 4 months. We have 9 songs done right now but that one will be a little later in the year. Anyway, if you are waiting for new material from us, i ask you to please keep the faith!! Soon My friends. More Info coming!!! I promise!!!
Take Care Joel Dylan Graham Denzel/Devin Harper

INSOMNIA RADIO HAD THIS TO SAY ABOUT
THE TEDDY BOYS:
Teddy Boys: Baby You're the Best

Out of Cedar Falls, Iowa, the Teddy Boys have managed to revive the sounds of 60's Britain in the Corn Belt, the soil apparently UK friendly last year, with another crop of songs promised to be germinating in the sonic fields this year.
"Baby You're the Best" is from the Teddy Boys debut LP "Love After Dark", planted, harvested, and then released in late 2007 on the Tyros label. The group is currently at work on their 2nd LP and have been touring much of July, running the gang gauntlet via tourvan in the late of night in Omaha, unsuccessfully dodging drive-by pellet gun attacks, and engaging in drunken sharpie shenanigans and light-hearted 4am yard pranks.
For some oddball reason, I'm envisioning their tour as a Mentos-like video for Insomniacs, where everything is ultra-cheerful in the end as the sun comes up. Join the lovefest and head over to SnoCap where all songs on "Love After Dark" can be purchased additive free. [cs]

Missionfreak.com had this to say about Love After Dark:
The Teddy Boys a/k/a The Sires Brothers plus 3, formed in Cedar Falls four years ago around a common love of British Invasion (Beatles, Kinks) and early Garage Pop (Big Star). The band melded the two nicely on their 2007 full-length debut, Love After Dark, which is brimming over with euporic, sloppy harmonies, hoots, hand-claps, and general enthusiasm. In other words, consider your icy cold heart meltedThe Teddy Boys a/k/a The Sires Brothers plus 3, formed in Cedar Falls four years ago around a common love of British Invasion (Beatles, Kinks) and early Garage Pop (Big Star). Hello Everyone
Tour is going well. we almost got into a gang fighht in omaha. like 8 or 9 dudes circled our van when dylan and i where sleeping, they started pounding on the windows and punching at them trying to reach into the windows, so i just popped up, closed the windows on their fucking fingers hopped in the drivers seat, reversed and took off they where throwing shit at us and stuff, i guess they had knives and are in a gang in omaha. we where gonna stay at Outlaw Con Bandana's home there in Omaha, they are great, check them out. so anyways, we took off from omaha drunk, raging and terrified so we stayed at a truck stop, sam eat at cracker bee's in the truckstop. then went to lawerence, kansas which was cool, got drive by shot with a pellet gun (i took one to the kidney) we wasted alot of time in that town, played a good set at the Replay Lounge, Chuck (bassist with Sam's band) got absolutely wasted and was funny as hell, he fell off the stage and let me draw chest hair on his body with a marker while he played blues trumpet then we stayed with Seth the soundman, went to a great record store called the Love Garden, Devin and i stole a hat from someone's yard piss drunk at about 4 am. next days show got cancelled in oklahoma so we stayed an extra night in lawerence, busked on the street corners for change while an old married couple waltzed to the music. then saw some guy jerk his wank onto a passed out homeless blind guy while his friends took pictures, woke up, sam puked then we where in Oklahoma City, crusied into town had a sandwich, played at an old speak easy from the prohibition era called Hi Lo Club, we played an brilliant set, i think. took off, slept in the van at a truck stop and now we are waiting to play tonight at he soundpony in tulsa, oklahoma. more news to come.......

The Music Web Site Cokemachineglow.com wrote a glowing review of The Teddy Boys single "Baby You're The Best" from their 2007 debut album "Love After Dark".

OR THE REVIEW:
The Teddy Boys :: "Baby You're The Best" (NBH) From Love After Dark (The Tyros Label; 2007)
It's surprising how little separates a mediocre pop song from one that soundtracks your next eighteen subway rides. "Baby You're The Best" comes on like an also-ran: it limps in on some bright arpeggios and a Built To Spill b-side verse. The verse eases into a prelude of deftly paired guitars and keys before it opens up in the chorus—opens up the way shit used to in the '90s. Not in the add-ten-decibels sense, but the hook gets wider, drums more convincing, the new wave-via-Vampire Weekend guitars more pressing. Add horns and back-up "ooo"s and you're looking at the same unadulterated joy that underruns summer anthems from the British Invasion to late '70s power pop and contemporary twee.
In the glare of the chorus everything else gets more dramatic. The verses are tense with muted urgency and the pre-chorus clamours for its destination without rushing there. With hooks like this and horns in the budget a lesser ear would drum the chorus into us three or four times before a repeat-to-fade ending. The Teddy Boys only give us the chorus twice, leaving plenty of room for an intro, outro, and solo all flexed with expectation.
What's it about? Who knows…but with so much right on the sonic side, who cares? It's a celebration of "a thousand daytime dreams"—some things have gone wrong with the lovers, but there is still possibility. The boy wants to do better by the girl. I can barely parse the lyrics, but I'll be damned if this song doesn't want me to grab my girlfriend and tell her, "baby, you're the best!" I clench my teeth in the wind of the world and hold—for all my cynicism, pop music still makes me believe in love.
Ladies and Gentlemen, start your mix tapes.

*Review By: Gregory Meister*
"I first heard this band a couple of years back when my band played a show with them. I was immediatly into their sound, it was very 60's with a dash of NYC Strokes modernism. The drummer of my band had a studio, so I suggested he get the guys to come in and lay down some tracks. This led to me getting to know this band on a bit more personal level. Our two groups began playing together frequently. It seemed like each time I saw them they would have one or two new songs in their set list, something that I could not quite fathom (as I have a tendency to second guess any song I write, leading to a lack of new material at shows). I was some what jealous, as these guys seemed to be advancing as songwriters at an incredible rate. Each time I saw them they seemed tighter, cooler, sexier, more complex and more original. They started to add more vocal harmonies, different members began singing lead. They became one of the best bands I'd ever heard/seen... and I don't mean locally. These guys have the potential to take over the world with these songs.
Plenty of groups exist in the musical landscape these days that play in the style of sixties "garage" rock, but none feel so genuine or unique as the Teddy Boys. Other groups feel like they are trying to recreate sixties rock, where as the T-Boys feel like they are picking up where other artists from that era left off. These guys are the real deal.
"Love After Dark" is the Teddy Boys first official release. They had a few CD-R demo discs that were floating around the Iowa music scene, but this is the first true release. No band makes a debut as fab as this. The album is insanely diverse, and abnormally catchy. Each member has a very distinct voice, which helps. Harper Sires voice is a bizarre cross between Frank Black and the Violent Femme's Gordon Gano. Joel Sires voice sounds like a softer, more innocent version of Wilco mastermind Jeff Tweedy. Dylan Sires sounds downright sexy and smooth. Devin Ferguson sounds like some strange hybrid of all the Beatles. You put these all together making harmonies (along with drummer Ross Klemz) and you have something gorgeous.
My personal favorite tracks of this album are "Like Dreamers Do," "Love After Dark," "Not There," "Poison Valentine," "Bad, Bad Things," and "Feathers." Hmm... I chose nearly half the album as favorite tracks. I guess you could say this is an indicator of how great this debut is. If you are a fan of the Beatles, the Strokes, Pavement or the Violent Femmes, you must check out this album. It won't leave your player for weeks."
Thank You for the Review Greg. It is Lovely.

Hello All,
Our debut L.P. is now availble through our myspace, at Mohair Pear on College St. or Bob's Guitars on University both in Cedar Falls or at one of our shows. It is a pretty good record. 10$ 15 Tracks. We are also 8 tracks deep into our second L.P. but don't tell anyone because it might take 3 more years to get that one out! Just Kidding, that will be out in 2008, and you can take that to the bank.
Cheers
