Surviving the Storm

Riding the storm on the winds of change.

Holding on to the faith I must retain.

Is chaos the only destiny?

Will these winds of change get the best of me.

What path will I take?

What choice will I make?

As I ride on these wings again.

I cannot hold what I cannot hold

I cannot control what I cannot control

Life and reality cant remain the same to be

Will these winds of change really set me free?

Storm winds blow into my face.

Can I really find my place?

Surving the storm, surviving the change
Things can never remain the same
In the eye of the storm the will to retain
The only thing that keeps me sane'

Disarm The Beast

As sandstorms converge, a beast will form

A whole new score, a whole new war

Flying up high, it sets fire to the sky

Napalm on the ground, spreads without a sound

Ex-it the cage

Scorch the Earth with rage

For-get fate

Kill them all with hate

I - stare at moonlight night - praying for the might - to end your life

I - don't see why not to lie - when all good has died - freedom denied

For-get the race

Attack your face

Blood all over the place

Watch your life erase

I - stare at moonlight night - praying for the might - to end your life

I - don't see why not to lie - when all good has died - freedom denied

Running (Bomb sounds), counter attack inbound

Flashes of light, chill the soul

The fear of attack, taking its toll

Feel it - the agony of fear

The smell of death coming near!

I - disarm the beast tonight - mortal wounds from the fight - ending my life

Terror - head aching pain - driving me insane - quit the empty game

I - still don't see why I – should pray for a guy - no better than I

Die!!!!!!

Shadows on the Green (Instrumental, formerly "Agrestal)

In Lucid Skies

      Wake up in another world
stare at the place the gate once stood
heroic exit plans laid to waste
nobody here to see my escape
An eerie feeling comes over me
i test the glass am i asleep to walk thru it no damage done the lucid journey has just begun

lucid skies display twilight fall into time and penetrate the night
lucid skies where dark meets light so many dreams cascade thru the night

here the lands of make believe rise and fall
inside the world of dreams there are no halls
castle shines in the distant sky beckon all to scale these stone cold walls

Unconscious realms all heaven and hell
under the spell of morpheus eyes the other shone not far to go but they dont know the truth or how it dies

Heavens so out of reach lost souls will never know
They find out what they seek there castles ascend long ago
They are all stuck behind their thoughts are prisoners of time
Throw away the chains beneath awareness is the key

These nightmares make even the mightiest scared
for so many sights i am ill prepared
a new dawns reality take me to the place where i can see

in lucid skies

in lucid skies i dare to dream
the dreams alight and sand falls in streams
i see someone is it me ohh
who will choose a new reality?

POOL OF SEERS

I am a seer come take my hand
Enter the dark another land.
To every purpose of all that you've known,
the seeds of evil have been shown.

Look into the past and see the shades,
See the memories and see the ways
The march of time has made men blind to invisible ties that bind.

Gaze into the pool of seers,
see what men have always feared.

Angels or demons you see them now,
what do you see anyhow?
On the thin ice of neutrality,
so many wonders you have yet to see.

Ancient kingdoms died for sin,
what is this force that let's it win?
Natural occurance they can't fight,
or the will of those who deny the light.

In the darkness can you know the truth
Is it heresy living inside of you?
Passive ignorance the ties that bind.
In the dark the truth you will find.

Now you see your true will,
you are coming back...
From what lies beyond, what lies beyond the black.

Gaze into the pool of sears, see what many have always feared.

The Phase Plane (Instrumental)

That last one was a false start- had some mistakes I cleaned up (With a silence at the end of one song, etc). I did hand out forty copies of THAT one.

Am making 100 copies of this one.

I'll get back to all those who requested one last time, etc.
Monday, March 02, 2009
There will be another pressing of it with some tweaks soon. In particular, there is a silence after the first track going into the second track "Disarm the Beast" that lasts about a minute. Plus some more rerecordings to follow.

There are 40 out there making the rounds now- BUT there will be an additional pressing of 100 or more in the weeks to come.

(Those who are left in) the band will be attending the Carcass show in Mokena Illinois- So we'll be sure to hand out the corrected demo.

To be posted on here in the next day or two, (Myspace)- Rerecording of Pool of Seers and a great unreleased version of The Phase Plane.

Track Listing of Demo:

Surviving the Storm

Disarm the Beast

Shadows on the Green

In Lucid Skies

Pool of Seers

(and a "hidden" track at the end, hehe).

THE FEAR OF ATTACK TAKING ITS TOLL

FEEL IT THE AGONY OF FEAR

AS YOUR DEATH IS COMING NEAR!!!!!!!!!

This is our new remix of the song Disarm - in our opinion it's the shit. GIVE US A SHOUT if you dig it.

Sunday, October 19, 2008

Yes there are new songs up. Not a complete mix however, I intend to do a few more tweaks on these tracks (and also Pool of Seers will be up shortly).

Vocals? I really would like to rerecord these songs with better vocals eventually, depending on the personnel situation in the future- (other than Disarm formerly Disarm the Beast which has good vocals done by Nick)- we didnt really get the chance to do a good job with our former singer on vocals.

I decided to leave most of it as is with the exception of some parts that really needed correction, unfortunately, we do not have the best plug ins at our disposal for pitch correction, but also there is the concept that this will stand as a representation of the band at this moment in time. Alot has happened in the two years since the basic drum and bass tracks were recorded - including the departure of two members.

Back to the topic of vocals: I put in a few background ones and they kind of strengthened a few of the parts, but overall its a work in progress and not how we would want an "official" album to sound, hence the word 'demo'. However, they do stand as the best recorded output of Cyclic Creation/Tempest Eternal at this point in time. Time, money and additional members allowing, we may be recording some of these songs again in even better versions (as in using a studio etc), but in order to further the progress of the band, this new demo will stand as is for now.

There were an additional four songs slated for release as far as a "full length" album/demo.

Me and Nick will be likely discussing the best course of action on how these additional recordings will be done, and to get an even better production on these additional songs (though as stated before, if we do these songs a THIRD time around we will likely have a full lineup and do them in a professional studio). A second demo may appear by the end of this year or early next year with these additional tracks and possibly more originals.

So the track list for the 2008 demo is:

Surviving the Storm

In Lucid Skies

Shadows on the Green

Disarm (not to be confused with the Smashing Pumpkins hit of 1995 or whatever)

Pool of Seers

We will be distributing the official version in the weeks to come.

- Matt (B).

Demo is HALFWAY DONE.   More tracks up soon!
Friday, August 01, 2008
Yes, I put up some of the stuff I'm working on. Note: Its not 100 percent completed yet but it likely sounds 1000 percent better than the other stuff that was there before. i intend to complete the whole nine song demo that we started a..while back.

Some notes: Surviving the Storm was done with our old singer (also named Matt..but not me!), and yeah he left for the army pretty soon after our last show sadly, so we didn't get to perfect everything. What is up though is the best work we have with him most likely.

Shadows on the Green. Well its basically "Agrestal" but since our previous previous singer wrote many of those lyrics and vocal melodies, and I wrote the majority of music (with an e chord added in middle from Paul our previous guitar player) I figured I'd retitle it - and I put it up because I cant see anything that can be added to it, at least instrumentally, and yeah I meant to say also thats its all instrumental at this point...

yes, I am very influenced by Angelo Badalamenti!

There are a few things I still need to fix with Surviving, but I'm pretty happy with what I have up. I had the delay on during an inappropriate part (you can hardly notice it its after the solo) and theres another part I dont like. Plus the backing vocals uh, aren't completed. Otherwise though, i think you all will find its a pretty good representation of what's to come.

And btw, Myspace unfortunately compresses stuff even further than what you have on mp3s already compressed. So yeah I dont like how it sounds compared to the real deal but its a far cry from what we had there before I'd say..

Tempest Eternal would like to announce that we are looking for members to fill out vacant slots- Bass, vocals and second guitarist. If you're interested, message us at our myspace.

Also, new unfinished mixes of songs are up, including Disarm the Beast and Surviving the Storm (with Matt Devries on vocals). I will be putting up new guitar recordings up in the weeks ahead however..

- Matt, Tempest Eternal.
Saturday, June 30, 2007

Our esteemed vocalist, Matt Devries, has chosen to part ways with Tempest Eternal.  He will be pursuing a career path that unfortunately does not leave him any time for the band.  We respect his decision and wish him the very best!  Matt has a fantastic voice and we will miss his contributions.

For any who would like a chance to fill his shoes, please contact any of us!  You can do so via MYSPACE or at tempest_eternal AT yahoo DOT com.  I spelled that out to avoid getting a mailbox crammed with junk.

For any prospective singers, here is what we'd like to know!

1) Your name

2) Age

3) Band experience, with links to band websites and myspace pages that are still up and running

4) A list of 5 or more bands that inspire you (in no particular order of importance... if you're like me, you've got about 20 favorite bands/artists and each day the one you quote as your FAVORITE changes :)    )

5) Links to websites and myspace pages that contain recorded material with your vocals on it.

6) Photo, if you have one.

7) Phone number and PREFERRED email address.

We are open to male or female vocals.  Check out our myspace for examples of our songs (which are fairly diverse): www.myspace.com/tempesteternal

Look forward to hearing from you!!!

Sincerely,

Mike
