Hey.

Thanks to those of you who came out last Friday at the Cross Kings. We really enjoyed it.... It was the first time we had played with Andy on keys and wow'll on double bass.
And it sounded goood ! Plus you lot rocked ...

Now its off to sunny Glasgow ...., which we have never been to so super excited, then Leeds,  then GLASTONBURY.....

Now, its just Hazel and E at Glastonbury as we are playing the Q SNUG STAGE which means it has to be stripped down. So expect a few new songs and a very acoustic set...

4 PM ON SUNDAY .....Its in the new Williams Green bit...it'll be in programme...

beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaatttttttttttttttttttssssssssssssssssssss

Hello

Nic Harcourt played us on kcrw.

Which was a surprise. Some people who heard it came to the gig on Monday at Home. I had to hug them for letting us know as its kind of a legendary show. I think they were then a bit surprised. domino surprise effect.

Island Line - Island Line

Stand aside Beth Orton?
There has never been a better time to be a new band. After all,
your MySpace music is a mouse-click away from being heard by A&R
men or potential fans. That said, everyone posts music online these
days, so releasing something physical is still the best way of getting
exposure. After two years of gigging, Island Line have floated
a selffinanced debut LP. The core of this folk-based band are Hazel
Sainsbury and Ian Kellet, who write all of the songs – and what songs
they are. There’s a delicious echo of Beth Orton in Sainsbury’s voice
that really captivates on sparse but beautifully arranged tracks such
as Days Like These and the hand-clap hoedown of Didn’t Know How.
There’s also a nice country feel on the likes of Another Place, while
the pedal steel guitar on the folkska Wake Me Up really works well. The
band are also comfortable penning potential hits, with Punchbag and the
swaggering Sweetheart threatening to become their Central Reservation.
Anyone who loves Beth Orton, Everything But The Girl or simply well
crafted songs with a folk bent and deft lyrics (just listen to the sad
melancholy of Saturday), this one is for you.

aaaaaah and so it ends. What a great week. Thanks so much to everyone who made it down to the gigs and welcomed us so brilliantly! You 're amazing!!

Our only regret of the whole thing is that it was too short. Really we could have stayed doing it for months! The whole Emiliana camp are great to tour with, so massive thanks to them also.

Keep your eyes peeled for us as we intend to come back to Manchester, Belfast, Dublin, and Brighton sooooooooooooooooon....
