Hey guys,
Just some quick updates from the NOBOT camp for the month of February in no particular order:
1.) NOBOT at Sparksfest!
Sparksfest features musicians, speakers, filmmakers, dancers, and
artists from all over the world who utilize new technologies. Happening
over the course of a week in dozens of different venues, the festival
is in its seventh year. In other words, its a week long geek festival
that will make your jaw drop and leave shat in your panties. Check out
the
Sparks website for dates, times, and locations for all the goings
on. Also, did you hear that Pole is coming this year?! What the shit!
We have been selected to perform during the "Nightlife" series which
occurs every night of the festival at the Bedlam Theater. The nightlife
houses the artists and acts that are better suited for a more night
club environment. We'll be joined by Twin Cites locals Caly McMorrow
and the Rossum Electric Co. along with Emily Hay and her trio from Los
Angeles. We're pulling all the stops for this show with our good
friend
Beeple who will be providing live visuals for our set along with
some new tricks that will leave you holding your crotch for more.
2. NOBOT spun in Second Life
We were equally amazed and honored to see that NOBOT's music was being
spun by a DJ who only exists in Second Life. His name is Niko Lyle and
you can check out his blog,
A Shout and a Whisper here. It features
his set lists and upcoming performances in the virtual world. Niko
turned to Second Life when his current surroundings (a small town in
Texas) hindered his passion for delivering great music to a bigger audience. And he is doing just that. Search google for "Niko Lyle" and
you'll find several blog reviews of his performances and selection of
music. Niko was kind enough to speak with me about being a virtual DJ
and we discussed the idea of transporting NOBOT into Second Life...a
move that surley happen in due time. Thanks Niko!
3. New Single: Said and Done
If you haven't already, you can download our newest track: "Said and
Done" for free via our myspace page. Special thanks to artist JR Sutton who hand crafted some amazing artwork for the new track. So download and enjoy!
