The second writing session has begun for my solo album! Davide Tiso and Eraldo Bernocchi are in studio..and in one and a half days have sent me 1 slammin' completed song and are working on a second!! They are working so fast it's incredible...I have completed lyrics and vocals for 2 songs, and I'm working on a third and fourth. Plus,I'm working on a few vocal-based pieces.
 
In 2 and a half weeks I'll be in Italy with them, working on pre-production for the month of February and then recording in March...I'm so excited to sing again and to continue my journey in Italy!!!! New beginnings all around.
 
I'm grinning at life's sense of humor and greater plan: Here I've been working through my own transformation for 3 years..3 being the pervasive number of composition in this World of the Relative. I'm reminded of what I wrote before in  a previous posting:
"It's not lost on me that we are a triumverate, and it's not lost on me the power and significance in that number. As each human being is a three-fold being, we are each three-in-one, you could say, in this world of Relative: body,mind,spirit; id, ego, superego; here,there, the space in between; conscious, subconscious, superconscious;past, present, future; energy, matter, antimatter; phyiscal, the non-physical, the metaphysical: Eraldo, Davide, Karyn..the POWER is here..."
And as I think of that posting, I look inward and realize that my 3 year journey has brought me in a circle, as life does..whose starting point now is the one I left behind 3 years ago: My voice in Music. Further, I realize each year of those 3 I worked on a third of my self's composition: my mind, my body, my spirit...Getting my house in order, so to speak. I didn't expect to be spit back out into the world..or even the world of music again! I was content journeying my desert alone, then starting up my leather business again working alone, painting alone..then Reiki found me and I received my attunements and WOW, I was ushered back into the world, and lives of people, with eyes that behold so much more now in those around me, in this world, and in the aether...During those 3 years my greatest wish was to go to the Amazon and study with Shaman and become awakened to the secrets of life. Life told me, however, that my place was here, this was no time to hide..and yet I still received my "Shaman experience wish", only in different form..part of my wish took place in a forest indeed, albiet the Redwoods, and with a Shaman, with 3 Reiki Masters, and ALL preparing me for this year, 2009..9 being the number of COMPLETION.
 
Like the Phoenix Bird I've so loved since I was a child, I find myself completing a circle, rebuilding from my own ashes, beginning again...From the Self all things spring forth: We are blessed with the creative power to command "I AM, I BECOME, I BELIEVE".

KARYN CRISIS signs Record Deal for SOLO ALBUM

PRESS RELEASE:

KARYN CRISIS is now working on her debut solo album.

Crisis have been one of the most influential acts of the extreme metal scene, and Karin's voice was something unique and never heard at that time, and still is, after 4 studio studio albums.
After the split of Crisis, Karyn moved away from the music business and dedicated herself to different forms of art, from visual and painting and to Reiki and Shamanism.

"At the beginning of 2006 I embarked on a Vision Quest. My goals: to get as far away from the music business as possible, and to delve as deeply as possible into myself to find out what I'm really made of all on my own." says Karyn "There, I found and embraced my shaman within. In doing so, music took me by the hand and brought me, full circle, to where I stood as I joined Crisis in 1993: on the threshold of using my voice as a means of empowerment.
This is why I'm beginning my solo carrer now: it's part of my journey, it's part of my purpose, and... it's my time."

The album will be recorded at the beginning of 2009 in Italy and will be producerd by Eraldo Bernocchi for Rare Noise LTD.
Bernocchi is an eclectic producer who started his career in the mid 80's with industrial extreme act Sigillum S and moved to different musical directions working with artists like Bill Laswell, Mick Harris (Scorn), Thomas Fehlman (The Orb), Zu, Nils Petter Molaver, Toshinori Kondo and many others in more than 100 records.
Davide Tiso, guitar player of extreme metal act Ephel Duath, will be part of the production team.

"I've always been a huge Crisis fan, sine 1994,"  says Eraldo Bernocchi, "and having finally the chance to produce Karyn solo debut is a fantastic opportunity to explore new territories as well pushing the boundaries of music and sound to the limit. She started it all for women in metal and now she's very likely going to detonate again melting her shamanic experiences together with music. Davide Tiso was a natural choice, his writing skills ranging from extreme metal to more experimental visions are perfect for a project like this"

Rare Noise is a brand new label and music production company based in London, exploring different musical territories, form electronica to dub, extreme metal, soundtracks, jazz and world music.

First releases out in March 2009.

EXORSISTER is Karyn Crisis, former vocalist for the band Crisis. Crisis was spawned in NYC in 1993 and was one of the first female fronted bands in the metal/hardcore scene and changed the face of heavy music for women and musicians who dared to break the rules of the genre. To our Homosexual fellows, I am deeply sorry for your loss. We will one day be able to sympathize and relate when our sacred liberties held close to our hearts are crushed and we realize we are mere slaves of the State. For now my thoughts are with you and the one you truly love but are not able to join in ordained union with. I am sorry the Will of the People could not see beyond the cage of their small realities.

To those that Voted Yes on 8, Shame on you.


If this is your Will, then it is this Will that will one day take your freedoms away.
Look in the mirror and know that your liberties are extremely conditional; that one day the Government, by Will of the People, will exercise the dictatorial power We have given it, and snatch away anything you identify with as Freedom. Freedom that hitherto could not be touched by Big Brother.



We stand up and cheer for Obama and call him, 'THE BLACK JESUS' and identify his speeches with the great Martin Luther King, Jr. We call his elected Presidency the day America became TRULY FREE. This could be no farther from the truth when on the same day the Will of the People vote to suspend Civil Liberties for a group of PEOPLE that have been given citizenship, but are not given the same rights.



You conservatives that voted Yes on 8 are HYPOCRITES because you've expanded Government. You could now be rightfully deemed a Neocon.



You liberals that voted Yes on 8 are HYPOCRITES alike. You are supposed to be for change and the progression of Society which includes greater liberty in changing times.



This is not about Gay or Straight. This is about our liberties.

Nothing should be passed into Law which takes away Liberty as another Law alike, could take away your own!

CRISIS ANNOUNCEMENT
All of us in Crisis would like to let our very faithful and diehard fans know that the band is going on an indefinite hiatus. We are sorry that our fans will not be hearing any new music from us in the near future. Crisis has had a long and fruitful life thus far. Therefore, we dont feel the need to justify our decision specifically. The band members will be focusing on their personal lives, as well as pursuing other artistic interests. In the meantime we strongly urge our fans to support original and honest artists and their music; a lot of them can be found on The End Records roster. We would especially like to thank our dedicated fans the world over for sticking so closely with us over a span of 12 years and more. We would also like to thank Andreas Katsambas and The End Records crew from the bottom of our hearts for all their support. If Crisis ever thinks about releasing another album it would be a pleasure for us to work with The End again.
