Holy Carp!!!

I have been battling a hacker for what seems like forever---Whew!  I think, I finally have everything restored on the computer and all of my new safety features in place, but I'm exhausted!  What a royal pain in the BUTT this has been!  For any of you guys, that have ever had to deal with such nonsense, my heart goes out to you, with a level of understanding that I wish I never had!!

On the homefront, things are as crazy as usual.  DH is driving me up a wall!  Oh well.  Not much to do or say on that subject, just wish I could find a little time to paint my troubles away!  hehehehehehe  ...Soon to come, emotional escape art from "yours truly"!  No, seriously, I think painting my little cartoon pals is my "Happy Place"...I can't imagine me stepping into the darker art.  hmmmmmm...  Maybe I should chuck it all and start on some happy little snowmen and Christmasy themes!

I love the holidays!  Ryan is three now, and he just loves all things that sparkle!  It is so much fun to walk through the stores with him and check out the trees and the ornaments!  Makes me want to bake cookies! Can't you just smell them??  LOL  Gosh--It's only November 2nd!!  I guess, I need to hold off for a couple weeks, huh?

Well, lots of stuff on my TO DO list!  Heck, I'm still trying to catch up on things that went undone while trying to rescue my hijacked computer!!   I haven't visited the ACEO group in a day or so--some MOD I am, huh?  I haven't opened any paint in like a month!  No wonder I feel like I'm losing my mind!  To top it all off, I am having a big Ol' yard sale tomorrow morning!

Robbie and I have moved 5 times in the 6 1/2 years that we have been together.  You can probably imagine the boxes that took over my art studio and the ones that I put up into the barn loft and forgotten about!  Going through them seemed liberating!  And wow!!  The studio is almost all cleaned out!  I seem to horde art stuff!  All this carp that I somehow can't seem to toss out--"I'm sure I'll use it for something!".   You know though, I think this will actually make me feel better!  I hope that getting rid of all this stuff will not only help clear out the house, studio and barn--but it may serve to clear my mind of all the needless clutter that has gotten in there!!!  Do you ever feel like you have one thing, too many for the mind to work correctly?  Well...That is ME right now!!  YIKES!!!

I'm working on it though!!  Wish me luck!!

Hope you guys are having a groovy week!

Current mood:lots to do...taking my time though!!
Category: Goals, Plans, Hopes

Hi everyone!  I've been battling a migraine for the last couple days...Now, I desperately need to get caught back up with housework and gotta paint something!!  It's so strange how painting, for me, has become such a physical need!!  I don't know if it is the paints themselves(all those glorious colors), or the movement of the brushes on the canvas.  Heck, it could even be the process itself...I just know that too many days without painting makes me a little rough around the edges!  LOL

The project list is growing, but, I keep getting distracted.  Summer has always been my favorite time of the year and I've seen some amazing beach themes, but, I am particularly zoning in on the Halloween art I've been seeing on eBay. Wow!! Seasonal themes have a special appeal to me.  I love to decorate the house, and completely get into each holiday...probably more so now that Ryan is getting old enough to be curious.  Ok, so trying to finish up my July ACEO swap cards, put some final touches on more of my Painted Palm cards, and working on a dozen or so canvases...I sure hope to list something by the end of the weekend!!  hehehehe

So, how ya doing with going green?  I'm ahead of schedule on the light bulb thing.  I got a pack of 4 at Wal-Mart for just under $8.00.  So, I'm half way to the 8 bulbs that I pledged.  You know, It's funny to try to turn on a light with the new bulb...I wasn't prepared for the little delay before it comes on...it's just a couple seconds.  I also figured out half a dozen things that I can unplug...until I need them.  I'm still following Robbie around the house, turning lights and TVs off!  Getting him to turn those off, might take a little longer than I thought!!  He has promised to give up his styrofoam plates and red plastic drink cups in favor of regular glasses and plates...even if I had to offer to do the dishes!!  Is there anyone else who still uses styrofoam??  Crazy, huh?

Well, I think the hardest switch for me to make is the "bring your own bags to the market" thing.  Now, I have got a gazillion bags, but it just seems to me, that If I return those store bags to the store to be recycled...isn't that the same thing??  Maybe, I'll move on to something else, until I figure that one out!

I'm gonna go start on that Big ol' To Do list!

Have a groovy day!

Did everyone see the Live Earth concerts & events from this past weekend?  I did, and now, I am truly inspired to do my part to "Save the Planet".  For those that know me, I have been a strong believer in global warming for years now.  I guess, that I never really thought anything that I could do would save us from this downward spiral--until I saw that movie "An Inconvenient Truth".  http://www.climatecrisis.net/

I started investigating my local recycling options and how to get started with that!  YIKES!  I had no idea how much work it takes to set up for that.   But, after the initial dumb-ing it down for my family & I (--in order to simplify what goes where)  I think it will be a simple program for us.  It just takes commitment.

Commitment is an agreement or pledge to do something in the future.  Isn't that what we all need to partake of?

How to start?  Well, I'm going to start with those darned light bulbs!  Wow, those things are more expensive than the ones I usually get.  But, if I get one or two each time I go grocery shopping, I should be able to change all of the bulbs in my house by the holidays!  I've made a commitment to change 8 bulbs this year-with this plan, I might be able to do more!

http://www.asimpleswitch.com is a great site for more information about those bulbs, and more helpful tips on getting started.

I am going through a "GREEN AWAKENING".... Thanks for sharing this experience with me.

Have a groovy day, you guys!
