How much can we jam into a rainy October weekend? How about 100 %!
More than 50,000 tuning and car audio fanatic onlookers flocked to the Ahoy Center Rotterdam to experience an exciting variety of street, rod, race and sound-loaded vehicles parading at the biggest modified car gathering in Benelux. This unique spectacle of power on four wheels was surrounded by a huge show program with drift cars, low riders and – not to forget – lots of sexy babes.
After all 400 cars from over 30 countries dwelled on this year’s 100 % Tuning Show. The reason for that remarkably extensive get-together: For four days Rotterdam’s Ahoy exhibition centre and its annual 100 % Tuning Show also was the host of this year’s final judgment defining the best sounding, the loudest, fastest and the most exciting technical perfections on four wheels. The 9th edition of the EMMA Eurofinals as the biggest car audio competition worldwide congregated 242 top sound cars and competitors from all over Europe aiming to take home one of 75 trophies as well as some great fame, which will last at least for one year – sometimes eternally!
While the fair itself only took place during the weekend, the fair management stood out on two more days to give the multinational judge team at this year’s EMMA Eurofinals a perfect ambiance to explore the national champion cars which lined up for the ultimate global challenge. An overwhelming quantity of exceptionally great sound cars was waiting for the judges and – from Saturday – also for the visitors who explored the car audio halls in droves to look and to get an earful of all thrilling stuff displayed (and played) at the “Audio Village” exhibition area.
A very special kind of “Audio Village” was surrounding the famous black Pioneer Truck. The Team Pioneer’s competition cars opened their doors and trunks for one weekend – all of them ready to give a glimpse of what’s possible. Here was the place where the marriage of Sound and Tuning had stunning scenery. A true rolling Multi Media for(d)tress from Russia, some electrifying mechanical wonderworks from the UK, lots of audiophile marvels from Belgium, Germany, the Netherlands and Norway as well as many more of Team Pioneer’s international artworks on four wheels were again putting the real big things in car audio couture on show.
On Sunday – the day of decision – the audience had the chance to look into more than 75 happy faces. The EMMA award giving ceremony on stage of the Pioneer Truck was even more than just the show down of the 2009 sound off season. It also demonstrated that attending the EMMA car audio community is ensuring great times with great people sharing an exciting passion!
Not only the EMMA champions for 2009 left Rotterdam with lots of great experiences (which are to be continued in the next EMMA season 2010), also the 100 % Tuning visitors were definitely hooked on this year’s extensive presentation of car audio delights. And they sure will look on next year’s 100 % Tuning edition with great expectations regarding the car audio show and exhibition program.
No surprise but nevertheless a good reason to smile: At the EMMA Eurofinals 21 national Team Pioneer champs and 3 national vicechamps again confirmed the audiophile potential and the authority of Pioneer among the car audio community – especially those team members who achieved one of the 17 Eurochampion Trophies. This means that more than 1/3 of all available Sound Quality and 5 out of the 12 A/V cups were grabbed by Team Pioneer!
Also great to see was that apart from the official Team Pioneer members, there‘s even more Pioneer equipped cars that made it to top spots: 1 European Champion and 2 Vice Champions were equipped 100% with Pioneer products and 2 other European Champs had all Pioneer except for the amps.
Along with the Team and – not to forget – the Team truck, the Pioneer car media armada is looking back on an outstandingly terrific event season with lots of fantastic four wheel spectacles, hundreds of T-shirts and Pioneer-jewelry given away to brave subwoofer lifters and keen shirt-swappers as well as uncountable sound checks and audiophile first aid from the Pioneer Ambulance Team.
