Hello all,

I've just opened a store on Etsy and am selling some of my etching prints. They range from $15-$30 (Pictured: Mongol, $30). More will be put up shortly.

Hello! It's that time again. What time you ask? It's time for me to shamelessly self-promote myself. I know what your thinking, "That's my favorite time!" Me too. I have entered yet another Design by Humans t-shirt contest. Except this one is a little different, because this particular contest is for one of my favorite bands, Incubus. Luckily, I already had a relevant doodle that I drew months ago. So, I took it and made a little rocket ship out of it. The challenge with this is the fact that it doesn't look very Incubus-y. Its a little more fun and light-hearted than the usual Incubus fair. Anyway, I need your help. Please go to designbyhumans.com, sign up (takes less than 2 minutes) and click the vote button, and if you don't like mine go ahead and vote for something you do like. Its ok, I wont hold it against you… forever.

Stay tuned for a desktop wallpaper using this design.

Hey Everyone –

This week is a special one on NYC Grid.  Throughout the next 5 days we'll be exploring all of Roosevelt Island – from South Point park, all the way up to the Lighthouse, and everything in between.  We kick it all off today with a trip on the Roosevelt Island Tram. So stop on by – there will be over 400 new photos in the galleries over the next week, so there's plenty to take-in.

I'm really pleased to announce the availability of new NYC Grid Prints. Starting today you can order beautiful, large-scale prints of select photos from the site. For more information visit http://www.nyc-grid.com/prints

But because all you people on MySpace and Facebook are so charming, if you place an order between now and June 7th, you can save a little bit of cash by entering the coupon code "facebook" during checkout.

Well, I made it! 100 blocks covered...and still going strong!

As a special treat today, for the 100th (official) post, I've gone out and re-visited several locations that my grandfather photographed way back in 1961. The result is a side-by-side comparison of New York, 48 years apart.

Post:http://www.nyc-grid.com%2Fhome%2F2009%2F4%2F17%2Fnew-york-city-1961-vs-2009.html

Surprisingly, very little has changed.  It's all in the details: Trees that have grown, walls that have been changed, cabs that have massive tail fins. Even though I've been scrutinizing these for a week, I still love just staring at them and finding all the little differences.  It's like a demented, historical Where's Waldo.

Now, in a fit of shameless self-promotion, I present you with the standard collection of social media links, should you feel so inclined to share your love of these photos with everyone:

Digg: http://digg.com%2Farts_culture%2FNew_York_City_1961_vs_2009_pics%2F
Reddit: http://www.reddit.com%2Fr%2Fpics%2Fcomments%2F8d7sn%2Fnew_york_city_1961_vs_2009%2F

And of course, please send this around to anyone you feel may be interested in old junk!

Cheers!  Here's to (at least) 100 more.  Thanks for your support!
