Here's where you can find me in New York this week:
Singing a new song about my family at Sarah's Family Hour at Ochi's, headlining (long set) at Wendy Ho and Cole Jame's Clown Syndrome at Barracuda, and opening a show for a new improv band called BTK at Stonewall.
Friday, September 20, 9 PM
Sarah Palin's Family Hour
Ochi's Lounge @ Comix
353 W 14th St. (just east of 9th Ave.)
OK, it's not Palin, it's Benincasa. Sara Benincasa hosts me and a bunch of other comedians telling stories about their families. Or in my case, singing songs. If you haven?t seen them already, check out Sara Benincasa?s youtube videos (featured on Newsweek, ABC News, CNN and more) satirizing the GOP veep candidate. Hilarious! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qEW12XLUM7A
Sunday, September 21, 8:30 PM
CLOWN SYNDROME @ Barracuda
275 W. 22nd St. (just east of 8th Ave.)
I'm headlining Wendy Ho & Cole James' weekly comedy show at Barracuda Bar. Please come see me do a longer set with comedians Livia Scott and Adam Lehman. Help me pack the house for maximum enjoyment of this glorious night that celebrates the very clown disease that makes me act like a dufus. It's not my fault, I was born this way!!! I'm down with the Clown. Are you?
Tuesday, September 23, 7 PM
BTK @ The Stonewall Inn
53 Christopher St. (just east of 7th Ave.)
I'm doing an opening set for a new improv rock band called BTK. Here's what I know: one member of BTK (named for the Bind Torture Kill serial killer) is Rory David Scholl of the hilariously wrong-headed folkie protest duo Pembroke & Lu. I predict that the audience will be Bound in lyrical ropes of song, Tortured with clever barbs of sharp wit, and Killed with a machete of comedy love.
Can't wait to see you!
