I'm Adam Ash, the lead singer of the Dingbots -- and this is my first post.

Question: do you have days when you're more creative than others?

Days when you write a poem, a song, a chapter of a novel, or paint a painting, or have a good idea?

I hope that happened to you today. If it didn't, I hope you did the next best thing: experience someone else's creativity: a movie, song, poem, novel, or artwork.

I heard a great band on NPR today: "Future Clouds and Radar" from Austin, Texas. They have a double CD of 28 songs out now. They're playing tonight, Wednesday June 13 at 9, on New York City's lower east side at a place called Piano's on Ludlow Street.

I also wrote one my best songs today -- in under a minute. A power ballad called "We live, we love, we die." That was creative lightning striking me big time, like a giant vagina enveloping the whole world.

In 4 to 9 days, the Dingbots CD comes out on cdbaby.com. I'm so excited about it, I keep forgetting to jerk off. If you believe in masturbation as firmly as I do, you'll know how weird that is.

I'm going to read a Pablo Neruda poem when I finish here. He's one of my favorite poets, along with Celan and Yeats.

Who is your favorite poet? Or don't you read poetry? Listen, I have to read great poetry because I have to write lyrics. I even wrote a book of poems myself, which you can order from Lulu.com called "Suck My Poem" by Adam Ash.

One day I hope to write a post-modern book of criticism. My tentative title: "Broken Hearts of High Art: Bergman, Beckett, Bacon, Celan, Coetzee & Bob Dylan."

Now you know the names of some of my creative heroes.

For me, creativity is blood. Life. Juice. What I live for. I used to work in advertising and made good money. But then I gave up that commercial creativity for a more soul-satisfying activity: art. Now I'm always broke, but ... I'm always happy.

I'll blog again soon. I have a big personal problem I need your advice about. I feel too shy to blog about it today, but once I've slept on it, I might be able to reveal all to get your advice. Or should I just keep my problem to myself? What do you think?

Till later. Peace.

Do your ding.
