Current mood:  sad

Phone the Samaritans and get out your tissues. The Beep Seals are no
more. We’ve split. It’s over. Goodbye. Thank you to everyone who’s
supported us along the way. Noises are being made at Heron HQ for a
proposed Anthology and reunion tour in 2028, so we’ll see you then. In
case anyone worries about these things: we haven’t fallen out…we’re
still friends, we’re just not in a band together anymore.

Our final show will be at Beepfest in Glasgow

All our love

Merry Christmas everyone!

Tis the season, so we've uploaded our version of Oh Holy Night again, and version of Biting Glass by quite possibly our youngest fan - Lily Rose Waters aged 2 years and 5 months. Could well be one of the cutest things you'll ever hear!

On the 18th of October at The Deaf Institute on Grosvenor Street in Manchester we will be hosting Beepfest, our all day festival.

It starts from 3pm and ends late. In the main room there will be ace bands, and the basement bar will be hosted by No Point In Not Being Friends, and will have poetry, readings, comedy interspersed with acoustic sets.

The bands include Jim Noir (with new band featuring our Ian, our Jack and our me), The Answering Machine, Magic Arm, Ten Bears, The Maladies Of Belafontaine, The Soundcarriers, The Junipers, The Sea Devils, John Stammers. . . and it will be ten of your English pounds. And we're playing obviously. Tickets can be bought on http://www.ticketline.co.uk/artist/details/beepfest.

This, my friends, is the insania Peter Andre predicted. Brace yourselves x

We've put up some demos and curiosities on the MySpace for your listening pleasure

1. I Used To Work At The Zoo DEMO
This is a super early version of Zoo recorded by Jack at home.

2. Use Your other Head DEMO
Ian recorded this on his own whilst still in Alfie, playing all the instruments himself.

3. All You Need Is Love
This is a version of The Beatles classic that we recorded for an advert in America. We were trying to make some cash but the bank that it was for decided it was too depressing haha. Oh well... Phil's only Beep lead vocal to date.

Let us know what you think

Our album is now officially out on 23rd June and will be in all the shops then. The Heron website should have albums available for shipping from the start of June so to make sure you get your copy before every other Joe, pre-order the album from the link below and we'll chuck in a couple of super limted badges for your trouble

We’re really pleased to announce that our first album ’Things That Roar’ will be released on 4th June 2008 on Heron Recordings in the UK and on Kurofune Records in Japan. The album will be available on import via the Heron website, but we hope to announce further release plans fairly soon for the rest of the world and beyond.’Things That Roar’ was recorded in our native Chorlton, Manchester over ten days in February with Norman Blake from Teenage Fanclub and Tom Knott from our fellow mancunian’s The Earlies. We (or more specifically Jay) have been putting the finishing touches to it over the last few weeks and we’re all pleased as Punch with the results. Over the next few weeks keep your eyes firmly fixed onto our brand new website for more specific details and exciting album news

Here's a small rockumentary charting the making of our smash debut album.

So we've nearly finished all the tracking for our album and it's gone pretty great. Got a few more songs to finish the vocals off on which is pretty straight forward. I've amassed a week long hangover that is going to really kick in tomorrow when we finish.

But everything's going great so thanks everyone who's been asking. Uncle Norman's sang on a couple and played some sweet nashville guitar aswell... cool
