Good tidings, blog readers. Been neglecting this place in favor of THAT PLACE. Come over and be a fan.

Anyway, TAKE SHELTER is out, getting nice reviews and all that. For all you late shoppers, it makes a fine stocking stuffer.

Little Rock folks can buy it at Wordsworth Books and the Box Turtle. It's also available via Amazon.com and all the usual online places like iTunes and emusic.

Be sure to check out the new videos and download our rough and tumble live cover of Big Star's 'O Dana' here.

Happy Holidays,

Hey all--

The new record, "Take Shelter" will be out next Tuesday (Nov 18th). Until then, we're offering it as a free download at maxrecordings.com.

Also, we're celebrating the record with a show at Juanita's this Friday (Nov 14th). $10 gets you a CD and $2 Fat Tire Pints (thanks New Belgium!).

The legendary Jim Dickinson (Big Star, Replacements, Dylan, Stones) opens.

Enjoy,

So we're in the process of posting some videos on youtube. Check 'em out. The first, a live performance of 'Things You'll Regret,' is on our myspace page. The others you'll find here.

Also, we'll be working out some new songs next week at the Whitewater (Thursday 1/10/08). The idea is we'll be having a "live rehearsal" of new songs we're recording in a couple weeks. Oughta be a big mess. Hopefully fun to watch.

What else?

Hello Myspace....

Here at Boondogs World Headquarters we're putting plan into action to begin our new record in January. Songs are written (mostly), wires are soldered (sometimes poorly), and instruments are being gathered (Chris bought a cello!).

This time out we've recruited our friend Andre Moran to come up from Austin to oversee the sessions. More about him in a future post.

Dylan has urged us to document our recording process for the past several records. We haven't. But this time we'll do our best to share the interesting parts with you all. Usually the interesting parts are dinner breaks, of course. Mmmm.

In other news, a song from A Thousand Ships has been licensed by the state of Arkansas for their 2008 Parks and Tourism campaign. The spots will air nationwide. We'll post one here soon.

That is all,

A Thousand Ships is out today... You can buy it in finer record stores everywhere, or at Amazon.com or itunes.

We'll be playing an album launch party June 2 in the Easy Street Cabaret Room. We're trying to get Indy to dress as Judy Garland.

That's all for now.

Thanks to our friends The Luxury Liners for pointing out that March has, in fact, come and gone.... The skinny on the new record is this: A Thousand Ships will be released May 8th on Max Recordings. Posting preview clips here later today, y'all.

In other news, we watched The Puffy Chair last night. You should add this to your Netflix que now.

The new record is ready to be mastered in a couple weeks. We'll post some previews here soon.

We had much fun making the record with our esteemed producer Joe McMahan. He's made really great records with Kevin Gordon, Jennifer Niceley, among others.

Looks like the record will be out in late March... Beware the Ides of March!

We're almost finished with the new record... Should be out by March, if all goes to plan.

In the meantime, we've uploaded a couple more songs to the myspace player. A live version of "Optimist" recorded in October 2005 at the Circle Cinema in Tulsa, and "Stranger Inside" from This is the Way the World Ends. Download at will.

So we'll be playing a Halloween show at the Whitewater Tavern this year... As Fleetwood Mac.  The lovely Sara Thomas will be joining us as Stevie Nicks. I hear she's been practicing her twirls. Indy (Christine McVie) will get to play Wurlitzer and sing all the best songs...

As much as we'd love to just play the Tusk album in its entirety, we'll be playing all the hits.
