We're pleased to announce that Marco Polio and the new Vaccines have added 2 new members officially.

The first is actually a magical instrument called the Imaginatron that I've slowly been learning to play and it's taking a life of it's own and has become a full time member and collaborator...as I discover the truths of the imaginatron I will reveal them through our blog

The Second is a Sentient Dimensional conduit whose name we have yet to learn, but that has recently melded to our core.

The conduit links us to parallel realities based on the notes and harmomies and disharmonies that we create on stage, and the response and collaboration of the audience.

With these two new additions we're all in for a wild ride with our without our equipment.

(THANKS SO MUCH TO ALL WHO HAVE HELPED US THROUGH THIS BS)

That being said here is our Schedule come check out the realitys we're unlocking!!!

MAY 21st @ ELBOW ROOM YPSI
MAY 24th @ 313 JAC W/Electric Firebabies
June 1st Benefit @ The Belmont W/Prussia, High Speed Dubbing and more
June 12th @ The Garden Bowl W/Prussia/Wildcatting/Benny Stoofy and Million other awesome bands this also coincides with Simulshow in another dimension at the same time
June 12 @ The floodgates between Dimension C and F Opening the Gate to begin the astral flood, bring umrellas!!!

we're booking more and more and will I promise begin recording as we sort our new set out.

See you soon Friends!

Hey Guys/

So why aren’t any of you out at the new Scrummage. the new locations has been hosting some damn good shows and we need to get out there and get this thing off the ground.

Watched 3 awesome bands last night and last Saturday all from different parts of the world play for an audience of 20 people, put a cup against the door and dig the noise on the other side of the wall, there is something going on in that whimisically painted old toyshop at 6 and van dyke, come dig the new...digs and see what there is to see out here.

I can’t wait to get this place jumping like the old scrumamge so lets do it.

to the future!

This weekend was the Hamtramck Blowout and a good section of the detroit music was on display for the masses at a price of a 20 dollar wristband most every bar in town was open and filled with bands including Marco Polio!!! I like those guys!!! We played at 10 pm did our thing had a blast and out of necesity dashed to our cars equipment in hand to clear the stage for the next band in the hectic lineup, just as essential as the quick loading was our dangerous dash down the icy unsalted hamtramck sidewalk in an attempt to check out as much music as we could before the end of the night. It was a fantastic mad dash of the many  secrets and certaintys of the detroit music scene. If you've never been to one of these packed hamtramck bars from my point of view it's hard to say you've experienced the detroit music scene.

Seen this weekend Between the two of us were

The Silent Years, Black Reign and Ohkang, Bump, Human Eye Eric Dilworth, Lightning Love, Charlie Slick, Odu Afrobeat Orchestra, The Muggs Deastro, Il Segreto String Quartet, The Marthas and Mick Basset, Zoos of Berlin, Carjack DetroitCobras Lenny Stoofy, Mas!, Love Meets Lust,Dead Bodies, Modernlull, and Pinkeye

I really can't muster the effort right now to explain how much fun I had watching all of these bands do their things, but I regret not one second or one Decision of it.

a Stand out set for me was Eric Dilworth, the Ambiance he created in that room felt near spritual to me and those around.

Biggest Misses( Child bite due to our future show(Future show needs it's own post I think along with the blowout show. I just mostly want to talk about other bands here) I did not get to see Child bites set which was a real disapointment to me, also I was sort of bummed to miss His name is Alive whose set we literally walked into the last 2 minutes of while there were sort of noise outroing. it was a good noise outro, but that's all we caught.

Suprises: Having only listened to his music breifly I didn't really know how I felt about Charlie Slick but what I saw of him I Really enjoyed, He jumped right in to the set with a lot of energy and a song about charlie Bukowski while Gleefully dancing in a strange Herky Jerky fashion that was most entertaining, also the glitter in girl in the front rows beer I'm sure was a highlight for her.

Lightning Love althought different than I  thought they would be crafting these really cute kind of neat little pop songs with Lyrics like Even if you're fugly doesn't matter if you love me...Paraphrasing that but it definetly fealt my heartwarming with the 2 songs I caught, it went right back to ice as they stopped playing, but it was a nice little solar flair there for a moment

Most Dancable. Tie for Odu Afrobeat and Pinkeye...I couldn't stop dancing at either of these sets, not really the kind of dancing I'd do it Caid really though, but I nice change of pace to just sor t of slam around with no other focus than to just get in there with the jam

The stoofy set was also something I want to see more of in the future I liked what they were doing, sort to me had this cool kind of oldschool beck sort of thing going on with it, but like their take on it I was there breifly so I couldn't really say much more about it, but it stood out to me.

That's all I have for now there was more...Much more, but I can't talk it right now

Hey Folks,

Lot of action at camp Polio.

It's been a fun couple weeks. Last Saturday we hit the Roche. A cool dive kind of bar kind of atmosphere that we tend to thrive in. It was a Blueroot event, and I thank them both for hosting us, and everyone who stood by us despite ravenous and persistant heckling from Nascar sect in the back. As he wrote notes to us telling us of our sucking i recal I liter hastily pulled from someones pocket to burn the note, the bad before us Redshift was also burning money, which I thought was cool, although I want to say 1's guys? I burn 20s like it aint a thang.

Wednesday was Crystal Castles, a fun time, Health really rocked the night for me standing out above the headliners with a more real, synced up experience that felt like musicians play off eachother and really experience the music together. Crystal castles lacked the intimacy of what a dj mc should have it felt like an mc and dj trying to act like a band, but I just expect more from an mc, the stage presence to me was most disapointing, and there was some kind of lighting problem. After multiple attempts to locate the switch to their strobe light in the middle of the set Alice set the strobe light down and gave up forcing us to take the brunt of this flickering onslaught. I like the Crystal Castles cd, I expected more of them live and not such a sense of entitelment like they don't need to have any kind of stage vibe or banter or love for their droves of young fans who worship them, they just seem to really think that they' are hot shit, am I right or what. Put on a show, work for your money, you haven't earned it yet until you start playing lite virtuosos or doing more on stage you can't come out and not aknowledge the audience.

Thursday we recorded our new tracks after a tedious 8 hours session we're almost demo ready which is exciting, I HATE BWNED fucking hate it hate hate it. Don't even listen to that shitty track.

Friday was our Atlas sound set.We learned that all of the other bands that night were actually formed of members of the Atlas sound and that we were the only other group. We were kind of worried we wouldn't mesh well with the night, I had kind of thought we were coming into a straight forward indie/pop rock kind of night. They thought we were going to be Rockabilly when they found out they had an opener. We were both pleasantly suprised, White Rainbow brought a cool set with what he dubbed to be "loop core" a more fleshed out Adumb bomb is the feel I got, more equipment and more insrumentation, but all improved loops and live loop djing type stuff. had some enlightening conversations about looping.

Valet came out also with a cool atmospheric kind of set, and made us feel more at home with their experiemntal ambient tendancies and some cool atmospheric rock.

Atlas came out and owned the night, we were unloading during the begining of their set but when we came back I was sucked into an large lovely sound. The height of which was the introduction to the band which whiche a jazzy guitar soly sinked up with some vocal scatting by Adam Forkner the White Rainbow guy. The whole band though when they were playing had an awesome energy, and it was a cool kind of hammer down to a sort of night of drifty music, it was nice to sort of have all of the ambient build up through the night and then knock it down with some more poppy sort of music in the same vein.

Good night  good tunes and good folks.

Thanks for all of the positive feedback on the tunes as well I'm glad you guys are digging it, Demos coming soon so can rock these jams on your boom boxi.

Talk to you soon

Marco Polio's Onslaught of upcoming shows began last night with our opening gig for Sole and Telephone Jim Jesus at the Misinformants Gallery, A cool new place that was new to us but a welcome atmosphere. After we spazzed out for a while and our set was done Telephone Jim Jesus Rocked the set from a tree house projecting thought provoking images onto the wall behind us while we scrambled to move out of the audiences way. The folks there were most welcoming and the crowd was receptive to our brand of craziness and the skyrider band who backed sole had good things to say to us as we did to them at the end of the night. The way Sole is doing hip hop right now is how it should be done, live violin mandolin guitar loops and live drums complimenting the samples and drums machines really made the sound pop. Sole although stunted by throat voice problems "you always have bronchitis when you're touring" was definetly on point for the show ready to spit the rhymes that really made the whole thing work as a great hip hop set. There were definetly sound issues in this off the cuff night, but scrummage was working their asses of to make this show work as they deal with their movement to the toy shop location.

I want to thank Scrummage again for bringing us out to this show and misinformants for hosting it, it was a fun night and I hope to experience misinformants gallery again soon.
