it's taken a long time to get this CD out there...and yet it seems all of a sudden to be moving really fast!
I was looking at my lyric book last night and reading how the songs progressed...Queen of Ghosts  started off as a totally different song and kept on changing right til the end.
You'd have to call this CD a concept album as every song bar one (there's always one!!) is about a powerful character from history. The idea for this CD came from my contributions to a long term project of Simon House and it got me thinking that the concept album is no longer the province of yesterday its here and now and alive and kicking!
So our second CD moved in this direction and work began.
Don and I wrote about people who fascinated us; who had a good story to tell; Cleopatra,  Lady Jane Grey, Mata Hari and the African King Lobengula. Legends have their place here too with songs about Hecate King Midas and Oberon.
We have many musicians from the Spirits Burning camp who return for more music and mayhem; Daevid Allen, Steve Swindells, Alan Davey to name a few, plus new yet familiar faces; Harvey Bainbridge, Nic Potter of Van de Graaf Generator, Louise Bialik and Banco de Gaia.
My cover design is a photo collage of stone statues and mountains effected to make the whole thing a spooky gold  that delicately leaks blood...mmm totally tasty!




Graphics designer  Karen Anderson has done a superb job of the CD package...wait til you see it all!

...music is done...mastering is done....graphics and art is done...fiddly last minute paperwork is done!
You know... even though I say it myself....It's got some wickedly cool tracks on there and some truly great musicians playing....!!!
As soon as we get the word I'll post a track up here!

Karda Estra - New CD now available

Hello
everyone. The new Karda Estra album WEIRD TALES is now available to buy
direct from Richard Wileman at the Karda Estra website via Paypal. Price is £8.00 and
this includes free postage to anywhere in the world. Just as (bad) luck
would have it, his web host has been having technical issues this week,
so if the website is unavailable, the CD is also available to buy on the
Karda Estra myspace page.

A track from the album 'The Whitstable Host'
is available to listen to on MySpace, LastFM and Soundclick. The Karda Estra
website (when available, grrr!) also has background information on all
the tracks and recording photos too.

GFT also has it in stock
now and the album should become more widely available next month
via regular prog vendors and the likes of Amazon etc.

why you ask am I blogging about Weird Tales...well...
1) Karda Estra are a totally fab band!!
2) Richard played some fantastic pieces for us (Spirits Burning) on Earth Born
3) Richard invited us (me and Don Falcone) to play on his CD
4) We play on a track called Eye of Silence...inspired by the Max Ernst's painting of the same name
5) Karda Estra are a totally fab band!!...did I say that already?

Titan Omega, the fab new track on my profile is from Spaceseed new CD Architects Of Twilight, the words written by the very talented Astro Al with some minor but elegant adjustments from moi.

The player says my name under the song...wrong!... its a Spaceseed track that I'm collaborating on...

Do check it out...it's definitely well worth a listen or ten!
