Due to new laws pertaining to online raffle ticket sales we will no longer be selling raffle tickets for this guitar online. We would like to thank those of you who have already purchased tickets online and assure you that your tickets will be honored by making sure they are in the box at the time of the drawing.  If you purchased online raffle tickets and your ticket is drawn we will contact you to make arraingments for shipping if you are not present and unable to pick it up.
Tickets may be purchased at the House of James bookstore in Abbotsford BC and will be available at the Trimmed And Burnin Amps/Guitars booth during the Back2Blues Fest July 31-Aug 2nd. This means that there will be fewer tickets purchased so the odds of winning this guitar just went way up!! This also means that less money will be raised for the water well drilling ministry. Please pray about this. If you feel so led please go to http://www.Back2Blues.com where you can make a direct donation. This will not enter you to win this guitar but will be greatly appreciated and go to a worthy cause.
Again, thank you all for your support,
God Bless,

..TR> ..TABLE>
This was the best year EVER,, I have to say that I've been to some great concerts and festivals but this was the best that I've ever attended. There are many people to thank, many events and moments to remember, I'll try to post them as they come to mind. Stay tuned for pictures and short videos.

The volenteers were amazing, the food was great,,,and plentiful ;>) the weather was "interesting",,, a few showers just to make us feel at home but overall very nice.

Larry Howard was a highlight this year, he was awarded ambassadorship to Georgia by Mr. Johnny Mannion from the Blues Hall of fame and started a jam after hours that everyone was eager to be involved in.. Murray Morre who has worked tirelessly to keep the B2B's fest going and improving each year was also honored with an ambassadorship to Chilliwack BC by the Blues Hall of Fame.

I'll write more about that later! A funny story indeed!
The Johnny Mannion Band was "hotter'n peppered puddin", Danny Brookes had us "Souled Out and Sanctified", and a very special suprise appeared in the personage of Mr Ken Whitely. A true gentleman, inspiring musican, singer, and song writer he shared the stage with many this weekend.

One of the sweeted things about this weekend was the giving, sharing, and passing along personal tips, techniques, and time amoungst the artists and bands. There were no ego trips, no bad vibes, no holding back from each other, they were accesable to the audiance and took time to visit, sign autographs, and be a blessing to those who were watching and enjoying.

I am humbled and blessed to have been a small part of this event,,, I will remember this for the rest of my life!!!
Thank you, and God bless you, from all of us at Back to the Blues,

Monday, August 06, 2007

At age 14 he left home,, this was 1968. He started hitch hiking around the United States, mostly the west coast. He was a big kid and looked older than he was so he got jobs traveling with carnivals, picking fruit,  playing a little guitar in some out of the way taverns. Mostly he liked the back country mountians and deserts finding that even the Haight Ashbury was a mean place to try to get along in so big cities were mostly avoided. He lived in caves in the Palm Springs  desert and a hollow Redwood tree in Humbolt County for awhile. There were those along the way that extented kindness but mostly he avoided people, little by little losing his ability to relate. After a little over a year and a half of hard living, more than half starving  and being alone he decided to return to the home of his parents and attempt to finish high school.

After two days at home it became evident that it would not be possible to stay so he packed up his back pack, compass, and his sharpest knife  heading out onto the road again but before leaving town he decided to stop and see Mrs. Kappy Britain. She had been a bright spot in his life, his favorite school teacher. He found that she had started an "off campus" school, a pilot program to help square pegs fit in the round holes better. She took him in to live with she and her family for about a year where he experianced a stable family life for the first time in his life.

He was treated like a son, as one of the family. Kappy had a son the same age, Scott. Scott was a very talented, athletic, artisticly gifted student and they became very close friends and brothers. He also became a bad influence on Scott!

He and Scott lost contact with each other, life went on. They finally got together in July of 2007 for the first time in 30 years to celebrate Kappy's 77th birthday. Scott Britain bought 5 rafle tickets for a Trimmed And Burnin ResoTele guitar from him. On July 29th at the Back2Blues Festival a drawing took place to see who would win this custom guitar. A person who had not purchased a ticket was selcted from the excited crowd and asked to come up on stage to reach her hand into a bucket and pull out a ticket. The name on the ticket was Scott Britian.

So who is "he"?? He is a man who has been blessed by God with three fine sons, a rarely fine woman who has stayed married to him for 33 years who has brought him happiness and blessings. If you ask him he'll tell you that he is living in underserved grace, just a square peg who eventually learned to build guitars. Keep your lamp Trimmed And Burnin

His daddy saw his son comin home, it made his Father glad

made his Father glad

Bring rings and robes my boy has come home at last

My son come home we'll kill the fatted calf

And that'll be the way to get along. Yeah that'll be the way to get along

We'll have pictures of Scott Britian taking possesion of his Trimmed And Burnin ResoTele by the end of August. Please check back.
