I've been kicking around an idea for a weekly technique video or maybe a DVD or both. I'm not sure exactly how to do it though. Better computer guys than myself may be able to assist me and I will definitely consult them. I guess I'm just throwing that out there. I haven't really seen that sort of feature on anyone's website. If you have, point me to it so I can see how it's done.
Other than that, I'm waiting for word on fight opportunities. I hope something comes along soon so I don't have to spend another 6 months waiting to fight again...

Here's the thing... I worked really hard getting ready for this fight. The fight is the chance to prove it. You just watch. Seriously, watch the show. It's going to be live. Despite my fight not being scheduled for the main card I think they'll end up showing it. You just watch. You do your job and I'll do mine...

Spent some quality time playing video games winding down from practice. I downloaded a motorcycle game called Trials HD and my son and I are getting a kick out of it. Remember the old Excite Bike for Atari? Well, this is a 2009 realistic graphics version. It really is quite amazing. Anyway, it's fun to crash motorcycle's to unwind.
Training is still going well and difficult with the conditioning. It's not quite time to taper off yet. I need to eat more calories though as my weight is starting to drop too much too soon. I like to be at 183 when I travel a week out, not 2.5 weeks out.
The sand sprint sessions at the beach have been so hard. Jumping in the water afterward makes it a little better... a little. I'm feeling pretty ready to go.
Let's just fight already...

Who knew training so hard could be so much fun? These past few weeks have been a great time. Training has been coming together really well and I feel like I've been able to focus on correcting mistakes and really getting in shape. My body needed 2 days to recover from a slight sprain in my back but while it was difficult to stand and sit due to "old man back" I was able to do my running in the sand. It tore up my legs and killed me on cardio but my back didn't feel a thing. I'm gonna keep up the sand running though... It's much harder than just regular running. I feel pretty good now, I can only imagine how much better I'll feel in a month.
Who knew having a son could only get more and more amazing? Yesterday was Lucas' birthday. He had a couple of friends over and the house was a zoo. He had fun and I enjoyed seeing him so happy. He's such a great kid. 6 years old now, it's hard to believe. He still dazzles everyone with his smarts and his wits. He's the best... when he's not busy getting caught with his hand in the cookie jar, that is. But 6-year-old boys will be 6-year-old boys.
That's all for now.

It's amazing how wrapped we can get even when we think we are managing time well. I've been training my ass off like I should be but in the process I've spent the rest of my time trying to be with the family or just relaxing the old bones and not doing anything (read: playing video games).
So my own official website has gone into disrepair and my unofficial website (read: my myspace page) is equally unchanged and nearly forgotten. I'll be spending some time updating my website and this page to a lesser degree to fill in the spaces that have been left by the changing news. Keep an eye out.
My next fight is against Mike Pyle at UFN 19 on September 16th in Oklahoma City. I expect a very tough and ready Pyle since he wasn't able to show his game when he stepped in for me against Larson on short notice. I've known Mike for awhile and I know full well that his last fight was no measure of his skills. I'm training for the best Pyle has to offer. I don't believe he has enough for me and I'm more than ready to move up in the ranks after some recent disappointment.
He'll be in the fight of his life on the 16th. I doubt Mike underestimates me but who knows, he wouldn't be the first. Expect a fast paced, high impact fight.

Hey there. Between roadtrips and grappling sessions it appears there may be some settling down to do. I'm anxious to get back to training hard again after traveling and spending some time with family. Training has definitely been sparse. There were some tentative plans to move after the robbery ordeal but I think we will stay put awhile longer.
Now I just need to get re-focused and get ready for what appears will be my next fight. Unfortunately, I think it won't be until September but in the end that is probably best. I want to be in great shape for it and totally past all this craziness.
So that's the news...
mmmkay, bye.
