HOUSTON CHRONICLE LINK:

http://blogs.chron.com/handstamp/archives/2007/09/houston_rapper_3.html

It was only a matter of time before the Jena 6 firestorm spilled over into music. And one Houston rapper is hoping to lead the way.

Pinc Gator recently posted the tune Jena 6 on his Myspace music page. It's an attack against the media and chastises, among others, Britney Spears and OJ Simpson. <[[[[iframe]]]] align=right src="http://www.chron.com/content/chronicle/ae/music/mp3/pinc/pinc.html" frameBorder=0 width=260 scrolling=no height=75>

"Now I could care less about a dog fight/But let them boys get time/We gon' all fight," Gator raps over a rhythmic groove.

The Jena 6 has obviously incited lots of emotion. Was your first inclination to write a song?

I did not immediately think of writing a song. I did not know enough about the case to think that way. My brain started racing Tuesday morning at 4 a.m. I have insomnia.

How did it all come together?

It took me a few hours in all to write the song. Once I had enough knowledge about the case, ... I got upset. I did what I felt was important as an artist and as a person with a conscience. I enjoy writing music that has a message or deals with issues in the world.

What are your ultimate hopes for the song?

I just want people to hear the song and be influenced to learn more about the case and see what they can do individually and collectively to make a change and help out the families in Jena. Also, this is a reality check toward us as individuals and a reality check toward the media.

Will you be performing it live?

I plan on performing it next week at the Vault on Tuesday. I just may perform it Saturday at the block party hosted by The Urban Zone and Party 104.9 FM.

What kind of reaction have you gotten so far, if any?

A good number of people like the song, some of my close friends ... were blown away once they actually read up on (the Jena 6) after hearing the song. A few radio DJ's are trying to get it on the air. I'm here to reach the people.

I have to ask about the football helmet.

Well, I wear it because you never know when a fight may break out or a bird may fly above. I have been wearing this same helmet since 1999. I have changed the color three times. Most people either know me as Pinc Gator or the guy with the helmet. I perform with it on at times.

Listen to Pinc Gator's Jena 6 here.

As I look at society in the state that I dos many thoughts run through my mind. For the last 7 years alot has been blamed on religion, and immigrants. I tend to break down the media and people when Im in Gatorville. It is apparent to me that it is more, than a race and religion thing. We ALL as people ar FCUK'd up. From race, sex, religion, finances, diseases, culture, etc. We need to quit judging, because if our life was played on a huge screen there are many things that would be displayed that would make us want to hide our face. I guess Im saying we need to do some self evaluation and not be so quick to judge the next person for their flaws. In the end we are ALL FCUK'D up...

I been OFFICIALLY rockin this football helmet since 2000. Thats before I pledged in Spring '02 @ Sam Houston State in TX. It has NOTHING to do with my wonderful and Owtlandish frat. Get it right. It has had 9 different paint jobs. A few helmets have been donated to me by random considerate supporters. The Helmet is basically my signature, thats what I do. So with that being said, get your own groove and move around. The real reason I wear it, is because people be trippin, throwin rocks, cussin, and fightin. I dont have time for the ignance. I come in peace. Im just here to reach the people and make music. So in the meantime. Go Wash Yo Mouth Out!! www.pincgator.com

I tend to keep up with politics for the most part. Im not some poli extremist though. But Obama for president is becoming a relaity more and more each day. Considering that he has made it this far in America, shows that this country as a whole has matured to some extent. THE PURPOSE OF THIS BLOG, IS TO GET YOUR FEEDBACK ON THE POSSIBILITY OF OBAMA BECOMING THE NEXT PRESIDENT OF THE USA. HOW DO YOU FEEL?

Pinc'>http://www.hydromaxsystem.com">Pinc Gator aka Clepto South is from Houston,Tx.
For over a decade, Pinc Gator has been inspired and motivated by music.  The ladder has always been a major part of his life, due to his father's musical capabilities and involvement.  At anytime of the day the "Bishop" was sure to have a record serenading throughout the house, whether Gospel or Blues.  That kind of explains why a there is a soulful sound to Gators voice whenever he briefly caters to his singing side.
Gator realized rap was one of his niches when he was always able to hold an audiences attention whenever in a freestyle cipher.  Pinc always wanted to "flow" he never wanted to write his lyrics down.  His brother always reiterated "write your lyrics down" in Gator's ear.  After a few years of being stubborn, Gator finally took his brothers advice.  Once writing became a part of his routine, his craft actually began to grow.  Although he began writing, many times throughout the years, Gator had tried to be naïve to the fact that music, not just rap was his craft.  Family and close friends were always supportive, but it was the people he did not know that sort of solidified the potential factor.
Whether music or just ordinary life, there has always been bullsh** to deal with.  People's procrastination has always been a hindering in part of Gators success.  Folks have a mind frame of tomorrow.  That tomorrow attitude has created a "Bitter Over Time" attitude for Pinc Gator.  Therefore he never gets too low or too high based on somebody's words.  He just believes it when he sees it.
Enough of that, Nu Spit Entertainment is responsible for promoting music, and comedy, in spontaneous, rebellious, and innovative ways in music and other forms of entertainment etc.  When a baby is born, that is Nu Spit, when a new song is created, that is Nu Spit, when two people intertwine in conversation, intimately, or brainstorming, that is Nu Spit The name Nu Spit was actually derived while Gator was watching a clip of a well known artist in hip-hop on the internet.  While the artist was doing his interview, he made a brief comment to the host that contributed to the name Nu Spit.
Many people want to know how the name Pinc Gator derived.  Many people think they know how the name derived, but here it is.  Just joking with you, the origin of the name will never be relinquished.  Keep an eye open for the stampede of Nu Spit, and in the meantime, "Go Wash Yo Mouf Out".

Some of Pinc Gators musical influences include: Prince, James Brown, Michael Jackson, Aretha Franklin, Rev. James Cleveland, Sam Cooke, Curtis Mayfield, Marvin Gaye, Otis Redding, Stevie Wonder, Elvis Presley, Rakim, OutKast, Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Tupac, Notorious B.I.G., Jay-Z, Ludacris, Eminem, Scarface, you get the gist of it.
