Last week, President Obama unveiled his budget—his blueprint for America—and it's ambitious, amazing, and unapologetically progressive. I thought you should see this summary of what the plan would do from MoveOn.org. Please check it out and pass it on! 10 things you should know about Obama's plan
The plan:
Makes a $634 billion down payment on fixing health care that will go a long way toward paying for a more efficient, more affordable health care system that covers every single American.1
Reduces taxes for 95% of working Americans. And if your family makes less than $250,000, your taxes won't go up one dime.2
Invests more than $100 billion in clean energy technology, creating millions of green jobs that can never be outsourced.3
Brings our troops home from Iraq on a firm timetable, finally bringing the war to a close—and freeing up almost ten billion dollars a month for domestic priorities.4
Reverses growing income inequality. The plan lets the Bush tax cuts for the wealthiest Americans expire and focuses on strengthening the middle class.5
Closes multi-billion-dollar tax loopholes for big oil companies. 6
Increases grants to help families pay for college—the largest increase ever.7
Halves the deficit by 2013. President Obama inherited a legacy of huge deficits and an economy in shambles, but his plan brings the deficit under control as soon as the economy begins to recover.8
Dramatically increases funding for the SEC and the CFTC—the agencies that police Wall Street.9
Tells it straight. For years, budgets have used accounting tricks to hide the real costs of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, the Bush tax cuts, and too many other programs. Obama's budget gets rid of the smokescreens and lays out what America's priorities are, what they cost, and how we're going to pay for them.10
Pretty amazing, right? Can you pass this on to your personal network too, to make sure everyone knows how far-reaching and progressive Obama's plan is? Thanks! P.S. Turns out there are way more than 10 amazing things in Obama's budget and we couldn't resist sharing just a few more. Stops unnecessary government subsidies to big banks, health insurance companies and big agribusinesses.11,12,13
Expands access to early childhood education and improves schools by investing in programs that make sure every child has a qualified, strong teacher.14
Negotiates for better prescription drug prices using Medicaid's tremendous bargaining power.15
Expands access to family planning for low-income women.16
Caps the pollution that causes global warming, and makes polluters pay to support clean energy innovation.17

Check it out, my new EP is featured on the Progressive house page of Beatport! I hope you enjoy the tunes... I've been headed in a techno direction lately, both in my writing and in my DJing. A couple of years of playing, listening and loving at Love Fest, some crazy sessions with the Varsity Allstars, and a couple of now-legendary sets tag-teaming with Lee Burridge at the Canteen in LA have all had a major influence on my taste and style. I hope you enjoy the results as much as I enjoyed making them! Cheers, and have a great weekend!

May 10 – Regensburg, Germany
Today was a day off, and Ash decided to take the band out for a nice dinner so we took a couple of cabs into the city center and walked around to find a place to eat. The area we were in was really cool, with a big gothic church, narrow streets and lots of outdoor cafes where people were sitting and enjoying the beautiful weather. After walking around for a while we decided to eat at an Italian restaurant, and it was a surprisingly good meal. We all had too much wine, except for Sean, as he doesn't drink alcohol. Instead, we all got used to him ordering Coke or Pepsi in a can with "a glass FULL of ice". : )
We had to leave early the next day (I think lobby call was 7 AM) for Hungary, so we all cashed it in early and tried to get some sleep. Unfortunately jet lag reared it's ugly head again, and I only got a couple hours of decent sleep, then tried to sleep more on the bus, which wasn't all that great. I woke up and we were in Budapest...

May 9 – Antwerp
We arrived in Antwerp, and it was hot on the bus. The weather our entire trip was pretty amazing, especially the first week which was sunny and warm every day. It was tough sleeping in a stuffy bunk, and I had tossed and turned a lot through the night so I felt pretty rough when I woke up. The crew was still setting up the lights and sound, so I had some time to get ready, find some coffee and try to kick the jet lag blues. Ash and I were always first to go at sound check, so after catering served us some sandwiches for lunch (I ate a disturbing number of cheese sandwiches on this tour rather than subject myself to questionable lunch meat) we got around to sound check and getting our monitor mixes set up. The sound was pretty good on stage, and the house system was nice, but unfortunately there were only about 80-100 people at the show. Bill said that Antwerp in usually not a big tour stop, so he was kind of surprised that we were playing there at all. Thankfully the crowd was really responsive, and I think we played really well that night so hopefully if we ever play there again it will be a much bigger show!
After the show we showered, then Sean and I decided to go with Stijn and walk to find some late night food. Sean and I were always ready and willing to make the extra effort to try and see some of every city, which was cool since we helped motivate each other when everyone was suffering from lack of sleep. We walked a mile or two, found a little kebab shop and had some french fries (another tour staple) and some falafel, then walked back to the bus. Ahh, Antwerp... ; ) Seriously, though, we did get to see a cool old government building, just our first taste of some of the amazing architecture that we witnessed on tour.
We left about 5 AM and overnighted to Regensburg, Germany, where we had a day off since we couldn't legally make Martin drive the bus more than 8 hours a day, and our next stop was Budapest, clear across Europe...
