Le moment est enfin venu de lever le rideau sur mon prochain livre à
paraitre au Seuil jeunesse le 8 octobre 2009, dont voici la couverture: It’s time to unravel the mystery around my new book, coming out on the 8th of october from Seuil jeunesse. Je
suis un peu fébrile avant de vous montrer ce que je prépare depuis tant
de temps !!! Un projet sur lequel je me suis investi corps et âme
depuis des mois. Un projet difficile à mettre en place car des tas de
corps de métier très différents se sont penchés dessus. Et aussi et
surtout une histoire qui me tient particulièrement à cœur, une histoire
que je portais en moi depuis longtemps!!! I’m
a bit nervous now that I’m about to show you the project I’ve been
working on for so long. All these months I’ve put my heart and soul
into it. It was difficult to bring to life as it required the talent of
various trade guilds. Most importantly, I hold the story very dear,
it’s been on my mind for a long time ! Le projet s'intitule donc La mélodie des Tuyaux.
J'en suis l'auteur et l'illustrateur. Olivia Ruiz dit le texte et les
chansons ont été écrites par Alexis Vallois et Jean Baptiste Marino. C'est
un conte musical, voir même un éveil musical où j'ai eu la chance
d'avoir une foultitude de gens immensément talentueux pour
m'accompagner dans cette aventure. Car nous voulions créer une
expérience visuelle et musicale nouvelle, avec un travail du son, de
l'objet, des ambiances, de la création. Un livre et un disque que tous
pourraient écouter : petit comme grand. The
name of the project is La mélodie des Tuyaux. I’m the author and
illustrator. Text is read by Olivia Ruiz and songs have been written by
Alexis Vallois and Jean Baptiste Marino. I’d
describe it as a musical tale, maybe even an initiation to music. I was
lucky to be assisted in this adventure by many hugely talented people.
With this book we wanted to deliver a whole new visual and musical
experience, and that included working on the sound, the object itself,
and the atmospheres. Children and adults alike can enjoy the book and
the cd.

Voici le pitch du livre : L'histoire
est celle d'Alexandre qui a presque 13 ans, un bon à rien pour ses
professeurs et sa famille. Un bon à rien qu'on va envoyer à l'usine,
comme les autres, à la fin de l'année... Jusqu'à ce que débarque dans
son univers gris une troupe de saltimbanques, une jolie petite gitane
et surtout leur musique venue d'Espagne. Alexandre va découvrir
l'amour, mais il va aussi découvrir la musique et se révéler à lui même
(et aux autres). Car le bon à rien cache en réalité du genie...
And the pitch of the book
It’s the story of Alexandre, nearly 13, whose teachers and family
consider a worthless child. At the end of the year he’s sent to the
factory, like the others… Until one day a group of Bohemians, a pretty
little gypsy and most of all their music from Spain turn his dreary
life upside-down. Alexandre discovers love but also music and his true
self, which he then shows to others. The good-for-nothing boy hides in
fact genius…

Hi, A new show at the great Dorothy Circus Gallery in Roma. It's a 4 peoples's show : The 3 very talented girls : Kmye, Lostfish and Consuelo Mura. I'm the only men on this boat ^__^!! The show is set to January 16th - February 25th 2009Here is the gallery's Statement: Dorothy Circus Gallery is glad to present "Border Love", the first show of this new year. The title, from the words "Borderline" and "Love",wants to point out the contents of modern love, that is incomprehension, eroticism, the game and the madness and so on...This group show will host three French artists (Benjamin Lacombe, Kmye Chan, Lostfish) and one Italian (Consuelo Mura) who, through their art works, are going to offer a fascinating and personal interpretation of the theme.  Here are my 4 pieces for the show: "Eat me, drink me"

Gouache and oil on paper. My interpretation of the very trouble world of Lewis Carrol ( Who loved a little too much the little girls). I drew Alice Liddel, the real Alice, not the blonde Tenniel's one.

Direct reference to the Pins 's way that had choosen the small little girl in red in famous story. Pins, in story, being the symbol of the passage forced in the puberty and the loss of its innocence when the girl meet the wolf.

A little post to annonce you that my new books are out in France this week!
The name of the boxe of books is "Généalogie d'une sorcière".
The project has been imagined and written together with Sébastien Perez. Inside a lot of stories, draws, techniques and I hope also... a lot of pleasure!
Becarefull this is a limited and colector edition! Only available during the Christmas period !
The boxe contain the illustrated album :"La petite
sorcière" and the old witche's grimore the "Grimoire de sorcières".
The album's resumé:
In her grand mother library, Lisbeth discover a very old and strange
book... A Witch's grimore!!!! Turning pages Lisbeth discover many
unbelievables portrais and stories. But the little girl has a lot more to discover...
With a lot of magic and aventures, this book is about the difference and this acceptation of it...
The grimore's resumé:
The reproduction of the grimore discovered by Lisbeth in her grand mother's library.
13 portraits of women, inspired by the mythologie, fairy Tales or women that realy existed!
This old book crosses the centuries and the cultures and put another glance on these womens, too often misunderstood by their contemporaries.

Une petite note afin de vous annoncer la sortie de mon coffret
"Généalogie d'une sorcière". C'est le travail qui m'a maintenu cloitré
à ma table à dessin une bonne partie de l'année dernière!!
Le projet a été imaginé et écrit à deux avec Sébastien Perez. A l'intérieur tout un tas d'histoires, de dessins,
de techniques différentes... et j'espère beaucoup de plaisir.
Attention c'est une édition limitée et collector!!!
Le coffret"Généalogie d'une sorcière" : contient l'album illustré "La petite
sorcière" et le "Grimoire de sorcières".
Résumé de l'album:
Alors qu’elle explore le grenier de sa grand-mère, Lisbeth découvre un ouvrage étrange et poussiéreux… Un "Grimoire de sorcières".
En tournant les pages, Lisbeth découvre des portraits de femmes et
leurs histoires incroyables. Mais la petite fille n’est pas au bout de
ses surprises…
Autour d'une aventure inédite, le livre traite de l'acceptation de soi dans sa différence...
Résumé du Grimoire (l'image est une simulation, c'est un vrai fer a chaud doré):
Fac similé du grimoire découvert par Lisbeth dans le grenier de sa grand-mère.
Treize portraits de sorcières se succèdent.
Toutes
ces femmes, inspirées de la mythologie ou de contes, ou ayant
réellement existées, trouvent leur place dans un contexte historique.
Ce
vieil ouvrage parcourt les siècles et les cultures et pose un autre
regard sur ces femmes, bien trop souvent incomprises par leurs
contemporains.

 This month I have the honor and chance to grace the cover of the number 54 of the great magazine Elegy... I'ts a dream come true to follow all my icons: Desirée Dolron, Erwin Olaf, Mark Ryden, Trevor Brown, Pierre et Gilles, Giger, etc... 6 pages of interview and drawing. The questions were very interesting... The magazin is out in france and portugal for 2 month A view...    Ce mois-ci j'ai l'honneur d'être en couverture et en interview de la très belle revue Elegy... C'est vraiment un peu un rêve pour moi, je passe quasiment après toutes mes idoles : Desirée Dolron, Erwin Olaf, Mark Ryden, Trevor Brown, Pierre et Gilles, Giger, etc... 6 pages d'entretiens et de dessins. L'interview était vraiment intéressante, pour ceux qui veulent en savoir plus, c'est en kiosque pendant 2 mois... Un petit aperçu...

Pop Subversion opened last weekend, this is my first participation for a show in US! Please visit Ad Hoc Art in Brooklyn NY either in person, or online. "Pop Subversion" opened Feb 8th thru Mar 2nd, 2008l. There's an online preview of available work here : Preview for Pop Subversion Visit soon, as some of the pieces have already sold. Greats artists on this show, Heiko Muller, Kenichi Hoshine, Kris Lewis, Carlos Nine, etc... My 2 pieces for this show: "Pop Subversion a ouvert le week end dernier", C'est ma première expo aux Etats unis! Pour ceux qui sont près de New York allez y faire un tour, c'est une très belle exposition. L'expo se deroule du 8 fevrier au 2 mars 2008...
