LazyBaby are officially rockstars having had a blazing post-gig row in the street!
Following in the steps of the Gallagher Brothers, Black Sabbath and who can forget The Spice Girls, the LazyBrothers Lee and Sam, fresh off stage from a great set at The Library and full of cheap beer decided to shout at eachother for a good 15 minutes.
Sources close to the band state that the tension started when Amber Cars decided to charge the band members £12 for their 1.5 mile taxi journey - £5 more than the norm. This difference represented nearly 2.5 litres of flat, yellow card beer, and already trouble was on the horizon...
After the band had returned to LazyBaby Mansions, it is said that shouts, wails and howls could be heard as far as Otley... this turned out to be simply Chris suffering from a bout of constipation, but still alarms were raised (sorry Chris, really didn't mean to be mean, but you gotta understand, toilet humour is funny, simple as that, going for a poo is funny... and unfortunately as me and lee were having the row and i couldnt make a joke about Anne going to the loo coz she is a girl, you were the only one left. Please realise this is nothing personal, merely circumstantial, you are a fine and respectable citizen with absolutely normal toilet habits. I will attest to that in any court of law)
ahem, anyway, where was I? Oh yeah, so Sam and Lee had a good barney, and went for a pub lunch the next day...
That's all for now, tune in again at some random time

Thought it was time for a new blog. So what have we been up to? Well, we've done a lot of admin in the last month. Have sorted out the myspace, got new videos, Lee has done a new synth mix on a few of our tunes which will hopefully be up soon. We've also started writing some new material and had a mystery audition which we're not allowed to talk about... oooooh!
We realise that we've not been gigging as much as usual. We've deliberately pulled out for a bit to regroup and freshen up the set. Also we have some big plans for the future so have more filming and recording to get on with.
We did do a surprise gig at Carpe Diem last night which was really fun. Thanks to Ben from Freyed Knott - is that how they spell it?!- who got up and free-styled on Kahlon. Very cool, something we'd like to do more.
There's also talk of a little tour with those guys which would be cool so watch this space.
Anyway, not the most entertaining of blogs I'm afraid, but I can't be on top notch form all the time now can I?!
Keep listening.

Current mood: apathetic
Several editions of the LazyBaby blogg went mysteriously missing during the night. Rumour has it that they have decided to travel to the far east to find themselves…
In other news, absolutely nothing extraordinary happened this week. Our fine, handsome, intelligent bass player, Christopher Glanville followed his usual routine: He raised himself at 6am sharp to take his morning jog. Returning to a hearty breakfast of special K and sliced bananas he made his way to the old people's home where he regularly reads Jilly Cooper novels to the elderly. After a lunch consisting of ryvitas and root vegetables he made his way to the children's hospital and helped build an ornamental garden complete with fountain. He then returned home, popped on his slippers and perused the Guardian until supper. In bed by 9pm he continued his literary journey through The Complete Works of Shakespeare, said his prayers for world peace and an end to starvation and slept happily.
Lee Walker, a little disgruntled after a disappointing football match, turned to the raging crowds at his side and said;
"Now gentlemen, it's only a game. The referee was quite right to send of 3 of our players and award 7 penalties. It's hardly his fault if he has a stigmatism in both eyes"
In response to this, his fellow supporters, still teary eyed from his rousing speech, embraced each other and gave the referee and opposition team a sterling round of applause as they left the pitch.
I myself spent the week praising my fellow LazyBabys for their hard work, self sacrifice and unerring commitment to the cause. I complemented Cherie on her impeccable time keeping, sung heartily as Chris's beloved Manchester United knocked the young brave Hotspurs out the FA Cup, sat back and listened patiently to Lee's fine suggestion that perhaps the Look But You Can't Touch solo would sound better on synth trumpet and respectfully declined to question Steve in any way whatsoever about his developing love life.
All in all, it has been a fairly uneventful week in LazyBabyLand.
God bless you all,
Love and Kisses

Last night was LazyBaby's 3rd ever gig and it was a corker! The crowd were great, the other bands were great, the venue had a real vibe.
We started the evening with a soundcheck tantrum - apologies to all, but I was in a grump anyway!
The music kicked off with Freyed Knot who were really cool... especially when they managed to squeeze a lyrical compliment about our 'fit' singer into a freestyle - you're not wrong boys! Seriously though, a great lineup of artists, I would recommend you check them out.
We were up next and looking forward to playing to a decent sized crowd. I was suddenly thrown into personal turmoil as my TC reverb unit went nuts coz someone knocked a beer onto it!! We will be examining video evidence later... This meant that I spent the next 20 minutes trying to stop it from short circuiting, and it sporadically flooded the room with ridiculous amounts of reverb. Anyway, the guys continued on faultlessly and eventually I turned the bloody thing off and went old-skool!
The set really grooved that night and the audience were amazing. We were more than happy to perform our full 45 minute set and after screaming out our finisher 'Good Girl' we were roared onto an encore where we pulled out our new tune 'Quick fix'. I gotta say, although I was grumpy as hell and covered from head to toe in reverb, the crowd really made my night. It was great for us all to have such a reaction from friends and strangers alike. We thank you all and hope that you'll all be our friends soon and we will see you at loads of gigs in the future.
Some of the compliments afterwards were really overwhelming, so again, from everyone at LazyBaby, thanks so much, thanks for supporting live music, thanks for spending your money listening to us and the other bands and thanks in advance for doing it again!
We were followed by Kinch who really impressed us all with their catchy tunes, great vocals and general professionalism. Nice one guys, hope to gig with you again soon.
The night was rounded off nicely by White Men Can't Funk who got us all boogying on the dance floor for a good hour. Great lead vocals, loads of energy, an authentic, tight sound. Looking forward to our future gigs with you.

Current mood: jubilant
Just had a few drinks with the fellow Lazys following the official birth of LazyBaby tonight at The Primrose in Leeds. Few people realise that this was our first gig as LazyBaby and we all really enjoyed it. Thanks so much to all the people who came down. We had a great response during and after and it meant a lot to us all. I'm not gonna start naming names coz i'm bound to miss someone off but we had a really great crowd and to get that many people out on a skoolnite night was pretty special, we love you all!!
Also a very big thank you to Dead Leg who we played with tonight. They're a great band, awesome musicians, top performers and 3 really great blokes. We recommend you check out their myspace and go down and watch them play. We hope to share the bill with them again soon.
It's pretty late now and I think my electric blanket should have warmed up by now... yes, i'm single... so I'm off to bed.
Night all

Current mood: pretty
LazyBaby are kick starting 2008 with a gig at The Primrose, Meanwood Road, Leeds, 9ish, this Wednesday. We've had a fairly bumpy start with various band and family problems so lets hope we can have a clear run now. We have a lot of new material. Some a little darker and funkier than the stuff currently on here, some like half a mini cheddar, light and cheesy. Hopefully our rerecorded demo will be online soon - if our lovely producers reappear from wherever they've been hiding for the last 2 months... :) Just to mention a great gig Cherie did with some LCM jazzers last night at The Grove in Leeds. Was extremely impressive and somehow Cherie, having been in bed for the last month, managed to pop out as a fully formed jazz singer and pull off some astounding vocals - nice one Cherie and the boys! I'm too tired to try to be funny today so here's a joke: Two hunters are out in the woods in New Jersey when one of them collapses. He doesn't seem to be breathing and his eyes are glazed. The other guy whips out his phone and calls the emergency services. He gasps 'My friend is dead! What can I do?' The operator says: 'Calm down, I can help. First, let's make sure he's dead.' There is a silence, then a shot is heard. Back on the phone, the guy says 'OK, now what?' Apparently the funniest joke ever told, if you can do better please reply below. That's all for now. Sam

... we can now get back to being our grumpy selves and stop using Xmas as an excuse for drinking before Midday, eating junk food and not doing any work for a month.
1: An apology to Cherie's mum. I would like to retract any statement about vegetarianism being girly, especially after she made me an extremely lovely, nutritious and meat free meal this week and not for the first time! As a mark of respect I ordered the veggie burger today for our usual post-rehearsal pub lunch.
2. Cherie is better!! Whoooooo! All recovered and sounding great and with plenty of energy to argue with me for 25 minutes about vocal harmonies forcing the rest of the band to hide in the kitchen.
3. No number 3.
4. Isn't New Years Eve rubbish?! Once again everyone managed to have a nightmare New Years Eve. No point going into detail but after many tears, tantrums, long walks, extortionate taxis and Mr Glanville emptying the crate of beer from his system, the Babys managed to get together for some fun at about 4am - all's well that kinda started rubbish, got rubbisher and ends drunk in the flat.
5. See number 3
6. First rehearsal for a month... cool. Had a rocking rehearsal today which ended prematurely due to the neighbours, but fun all the same. Good to be back.
That's me done.
Until next time sports fans.
