Dear LUMPIA Lovers,
It's been a crazy and emotional 24 hours for me. I'll keep this short
and sweet. We won a NATIONAL CONTEST and now, YOU get to
watch our MUSIC VIDEO PREMIERE on NATIONAL TV this SUNDAY
NIGHT Feb. 8 on CBS!

Read on for the details...

OUR MUSIC VIDEO TO AIR NATIONALLY DURING THE GRAMMY AWARDS!

Yes you read that right. Our WINNING Music Video entry "Love (Cupid Style)"
will premiere THIS SUNDAY NIGHT as a 30 second commercial during
the CBS broadcast of the GRAMMY AWARDS. I don't know exactly
WHEN the commercial will air but the telecast begins 8pm Eastern
and Pacific Time this Sunday, February 8.

The commercial will then prompt viewers to visit a CBS website to watch
the ONLINE PREMIERE of the FULL COMPLETE 5 MINUTE VERSION
of our MUSIC VIDEO.

Our video is one of FIVE winners, all part of a huge national ad campaign
called "PROJECT RISING STARS". Lincoln, Y&R Team Detroit, and
Filmaka, a global creative community, are helping up-and-coming
filmmakers realize their dreams with this Lincoln Music Video Challenge.
More than 300 submissions were received, with 14 Semi-Finalists. Each
video will include a song from an emerging artist, and will highlight the
2009 Lincoln MKS luxury sedan.

Our video features the song "LOVE" by Greyboy (featuring Nino Moschella).
I have to admit it was the most grueling shoot I've ever completed, but
also the most exhilarating. Did I mention it also features rap artist Bambu
as a lead Cupid angel?

SPREAD THE WORD AND VOTE FOR THIS VIDEO THIS SUNDAY!
Help us spread the word and get all your friends and family members
to watch or record THE GRAMMY AWARDS on CBS this SUNDAY.
After you watch our 30 sec spot, visit http://www. cbs. com/lincoln to watch
the FULL VERSION and then VOTE for your FAVORITE VIDEO!

THANK YOU ALL for your undying support!

Dear LUMPIA Lovers,

This year is very significant, especially so with the election of the next
President of the United States. And it all falls in our hands (well for us
who are 18 and over that is). Whether you're supporting OBAMA/BIDEN
or MCCAIN/PALIN, we can all agree on this: the FREEDOM of
CHOICE and the IMPORTANCE of VOTING.

Did you know that the Asian American community has the lowest
percentage of registered voters among ethnic groups in the country?
Discouraged by that fact, the LUMPIA crew has created a special viral
video campaign to encourage the community to go out there and VOTE
on November 4!

USE "YOUR POWER" on 11.4.08
We've teamed up with two of our role models, musician DJ KUTTIN KANDI
(5th Platoon) and renowned comic book artist WHILCE PORTACIO
(Wetworks, Uncanny X-Men, Iron Man, Stone) for a series of public service
announcements called "YOUR POWER".

Watch the multiple versions in either standard or high definition at:
http://www.kidheroes.net/yourpower

or click on the picture below:

The website also includes a photo gallery, press stills, and links to embed
the video and to share with your friends and family. So please, watch
the videos and encourage everyone to LEARN MORE ABOUT THE
CANDIDATES and THEIR POLICIES, and participate in the election process
this November!!!

Again, these videos would not be possible without the volunteering
support of our cast and crew. Special thanks to George Lin and the
San Diego Asian Film Foundation's Reel In The Vote Program for
encouraging to create this campaign. We did our part. Now it's your
turn!

PREMIERE OF "TOMMY NEEDS A NEW CAR"
Earlier this year, we shot a couple of commercials for the USC Credit
Union. It gave the LUMPIA crew a chance to work with the world famous
USC Trojan Marching Band. With school and college football season
in full bloom, we finally unveil our AUTO LOAN commercial entitled
"Tommy Needs A New Car".

You can view the commercial online at:
http://www.kidheroes.net/usccreditunion/car.html

Stay tuned for our HOME LOAN Commercial for the USC Credit Union
premiering soon!

FALL SPECIAL!
Are you a LUMPIA lover without any LUMPIA gear? We've slashed
all our LUMPIA shirt prices in HALF. Grab a LUMPIA, LUMPIA PALOOZA,
or a LOVE THAT LUMPIA T-Shirt for only $7 at our FALL sale only through

Dear LUMPIA Lovers,

Yes it's true and I still can't believe it! After being chosen on June 18 to
be one of four filmmakers to take part in this year's Los Angeles Film
Festival Canon BRING IT 72-Hour Film Competition, I won it all with
my short film "BEING REEL".

We were all required to write, shoot, and edit a short movie about "festival
stories" in just 3 days. The grueling process took a lot out of me as I
fought a sore throat, lost my voice, and shot the movie in the middle of
a summer heat wave. In the end, I barely made the finish line with only
6 minutes left on the clock. On July 23, the audience at an industry
event voted my film as the WINNER. My prize: a brand new HF10
Camcorder provided by sponsor Canon!

You can catch all the drama from each day with our video blogs at:
http://www.kidheroes.net/beingreel

Or catch them in order here:
DAY ONE: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h6awzkJ6JG8
DAY TWO: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cJM3rwz63y8
DAY THREE: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J_Mj2SrjOeY
THE FINISH LINE: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X2foHOC0RbY
THE RECAP: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5MkpcfiTQec

You can also watch the winning 72 HOUR CUT of "BEING REEL" at:
http://www.kidheroes.net/beingreel

There you can also catch a photo gallery as well as links to all the other
blogs and short films in the competition. We will be working on an
EXTENDED FINAL CUT of "BEING REEL" for future festivals and
screenings. SO stay tuned!

"BEING REEL" stars Phillip Jeanmarie, Bambu (formerly of the Native Guns),
Kristine Sabella, Cyndee San Luis, and Mia Guzman. I'll be writing
about my experiences in detail in my blog this week.

Fat Free Film hosted the Canon 72 Hour Film Competition at the
Los Angeles International Film Festival, in conjunction with film
producing great Effie Brown ("Real Women Have Curves") and her
company Duly Noted Productions. The entries were open to Film
Independent Lab Alums and Project Involve Alums.

SUMMER SPECIAL!
Still don't own the third installment of our LUMPIA PALOOZA series?
Well you can now grab it for only $10 at our summer sale only through
KidHeroes.net! While supplies last. Visit www.kidheroes.net now!

SO WHAT'S NEXT?
This competition has rejuvenated me like nothing before! The fact that
I wrote a decent script in just 5 hours (when I couldn't write anything in 5
years) and then WIN (even though I wasn't 100 percent healthy) has
inspired me heavily. All of you LUMPIA LOVERS have played a special
part in motivating me and I THANK YOU all! The best is yet to come...

Dear LUMPIA Lovers,

Thanks to you and our online sales from July 2007, we were able to
raise some funds on behalf of the World War II Filipino Veterans

seeking full equity. Now, watch the result in this EXCLUSIVE
premiere of our first PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT!

Read on for the details...

FULL EQUITY NOW!
The Filipino Veterans fight for equity has been one of the major issues

impacting our community for a long time. We first touched upon this

issue in our Black Eyed Peas music video "The Apl Song" in 2004.

What you may not know is that the veterans are currently very close in
finally attaining that goal. Last month, the Filipino Veterans Equity Act
was voted out of committee in the House of Representatives (HR 760)
and the Senate (S 1315) and is now awaiting floor votes.
SO they still need your help!!!

In response. Kid Heroes Productions has funded and produced a public
service announcement on behalf of the National Alliance for Filipino
Veterans Equity (NAFVE).

WATCH THE ONLINE PREMIERE NOW at:
http://www.kidheroes.net/fullequitynow

This 35mm filmed public service announcement features veteran
FAUSTINO "Peping" BACLIG, who also made a cameo appearance
in "The Apl Song". The release of this video spot coincides with the
efforts of the National Alliance for Filipino Veterans Equity (NAFVE) to
spread awareness in this final push to pass the bill.

"We're so close, we can taste it. We hope this public service
announcement can reach out and mobilize our community. We need all
the help we can get to make history by passing this important legislation
on behalf of the brave soldiers who came before us as part of the
'Greatest Generation' who fought in WW II," says Ben de Guzman,
NAFVE National Campaign Coordinator.

"FULL EQUITY NOW" was created with assistance from donations and
sales made in July 2007 through our online store. As usual, our
dedicated LUMPIA crew donated their time and efforts to make sure
this public service announcement happened.

Spread the word and share the video with your friends and family.
The
NAFVE represents over 20 local, national, and international organizations
committed to securing full equity for Filipino World War II Veterans.
More information about NAFVE and the Filipino Veterans Equity Act is
available on the NAFVE Web site:
http://www.nafve.org
There you can find
more information on how to donate and how you can help
support the cause!

LITTLE MANILA TO RECEIVE CALIFORNIA PRESERVATION AWARD

This just in! The Board of Trustees of the California Preservation
Foundation have selected the Little Manila Foundation, myself, and the
Black Eyed Peas as the recipient of the CPF President's Award
for 2007.

According to their letter, the California Preservation Foundation bestows
this honor upon the Black Eyed Peas for using the music video "Bebot:
Generation One" to capture the spirit of the Rizal Social Club, to draw
attention to the Little Manila Foundation, and to introduce a younger
generation to an important part of Stockton's history and culture.

"The Board unanimously voted to present this award to the Black Eyed
Peas, the Little Manila Foundation and Mr. Patricio Ginelsa. We laud
each of you for using music videos to educate and promote the history
and culture of the Filipino community. "

The California Preservation Foundation is the statewide nonprofit
organization that educates and advocates for the preservation of
California's diverse cultural and architectural heritage. The CPF's
President's Awards will be presented during the Plenary Session of the

Dear LUMPIA Lovers,

MARCH Premiere Month continues! Nope, it's NOT another music video premiere.
This time, we unveil what we hope is the beginning of a feature film project.
YOU be the judge!

THE NEW SHORT FILM
It's been a while since we've done a narrative film. Our past music videos have
been a great exercise in telling different stories. Now we premiere a new short
film that shows the first chapter of a longer story we're dying to tell.

It's called THE ONES AND TWOS.

You can now watch it ONLINE exclusively here:
http://films.thelot.com/films/30272

Or click on the picture below. Please rate and comment!

Let us know what you think. Does it leave you craving for the feature? What don't
you like and what do you want to see in the full version? Share the film with your
friends and please, take the time to register on the site, rate the film, and then
leave your comments.

This online exclusive is a condensed 5 min. version of the real short film.
The EXTENDED CUT will premiere soon at http://www.kidheroes.net

SO WHAT'S NEXT?
We continue our PREMIERE MONTH with the premiere of a NEW WEBSITE and a
NEW ONLINE STORE!

You've waited long enough! This music video took almost a year to complete. We conceived it last March and shot it in May. I gotta give it up to James Rim for doing an outstanding job on all the lead motion graphics. Myself and A.J. definitely learned a lot. Just another example of all the pieces coming together perfectly. Even though the directing credit is under my name, this was a total collaborative effort from top to bottom and it all began with a powerful song...

MP3.com has the exclusive premiere. But visit:
http://www.kidheroes.net/nativeguns for more online premieres, premiere parties, and the video's film festival premiere.

You can also subscribe to this blog and you'll be the first to know...

ENJOY!
