We were booked to play at Bass Republic, Porto alongside Erb and Dub with us headlining on Friday the 14th of December. It was a 2 day event with hazard headlining the following night (December 15th). We had been asking Bastian for the flight details every day for a week running up to the 14th of December. Every day he told us that everything was cool and that he would get us the flight details as soon as possible. We were told that the flight left at 2:00 pm from Gatwick although we were never sent the full flight details. We arrived to get the bus to Gatwick at 10:00 a.m. We phoned Bastian many times running up to 10:00 a.m. He sent us a text as the bus arrived saying that everything we needed to know had been sent that morning via email and to check our in box. We then paid to get on the bus and started to phone our friends to get into our email account and check the flight details. After phoning several of our friends we finally found someone to read our emails. The email he had sent read "I am sorry guys but there has been a shooting in the club and we have been told by the venue to cancel the event and most likely he would have to cancel the next day". We had now paid for 2 return tickets to Gatwick and 2 taxi fares to the bus station and were heading to Gatwick with no need to. I spoke to Erb and Dub on the following Monday via aim and he had asked where we had been as he had got his flight to Porto to play that night. He had been told by the promoter that we had missed our flights. This was not true and after further investigation on Portugese drum and bass forums found bass republic bumping their thread at 4:00 p.m. that day saying ’tonight’. No mention of a shooting the night before and that the event had been cancelled.
Since then we have had no explanation to why we were told the event was not happening . We have phoned him up to a 100 times daily for months to have no answer apart from text and emails saying that he would pay us the money for the show. 3 months later and we have still not received an apology explanation or money from Bastian. He is a compulsive liar and not to be trusted. We would like to apologise for anyone that turned up to see us play as we have numerous email messages asking where we were and what had happened.
