We know that there's been a lot of confusion regarding Ray/Neela and if Shane West is coming back to the show. So I've personally decided to outline what I've heard and such:

March 5th: In his latest Ask Ausiello column for tvguide.com, Ausiello wrote that there's a very,very,very good chance that Shane West could return as Ray for one or two episodes this season.

March 15th: Shane West is quoted by USA Today Weekend that he still has loyalty to ER and would come back to tie up loose ends. It seems that the ER writers/producers have not asked him back.

March 20th: Ausiello in his latest Ask Ausiello column, says that once he gets confirmation of West returning, he will let the ER fans know.  

Late March/Early April: Kristin of E!Online repudiates information given by Mike Ausiello and says that there are no plans for Shane West to return this season. There is however, a possibility that he might return next season. John Wells is also quoted in another article saying that he loves Shane, but there are currently no plans in place to bring him back next season. Basically, the writers will meet this summer to plan the 15th season and then ask back old characters to see if they wanted to make an appearance.

Neela complains about being single in "As the Day She was Born." She also says that she has basically come to a crossroads in her life.

 

In the season finale spoilers obtained by Save Reela, Neela joins an online dating service. No one knows however the outcome of her joining the service. It seems that she has a lot of interest online.

According to the latest spoilers obtained by Save Reela, Neela is officially on the "dating market." She's trying "internet dating." Another HUGE slap to Reela fans. Not only do we get no closure, we get this sort of cr** given to us. Enough is enough. We tried e-mails. We tried ads. Now we need to go more dramatic. In honor of Reela, we want to send honey sticks (stemming from the infamous "honey?" scene and also chocolate hershey kisses). These honey sticks are only TWENTY cents per stick.
