Hello!
Come on in. Put your feet up, get yourself a cup of tea and all that.
We were on BBC Raw Talent last night and by all accounts it seemed to go rather well! If you have found us off the back of that, well thank you for all the kind words and we hope you enjoy more of our songs. We're just writing some new songs at the moment and planning some gigs, so make sure you add us as a friend and we'll be sure to keep you up to date with everything we're up to in the March of Dimes world.
If you're feeling a bit flush you could buy our album "All intents and purposes" on iTunes or CD - the links are on the main myspace page :) In a few days we'll have some new badges, so if you buy a CD we'll pop a couple in with the order too.
All the best, Sean from t'Dimes x
[Edit] It's entirely possible you've found us through some of the ace reviews at those lovely people from places like themusicguruonline.co.uk or subba-cultcha.com or anyone else that's said nice words about us lately. It's great to have so many new people hearing what we've got to say. Thank you! xx

We've had some lovely words from some nice websites all about all intents and purposes: "With harmonies to die for, poignant lyrics, strong vocals and tight playing this has to be one of the most rounded and consistent albums of 2008." Paul Abraham, leedsmusicpromotions
"ahead of the game in Leeds’ ever growing indie scene." www.tuborgmusic.com
"An excellent set of tunes, including some verging on masterpieces, with influences including some of the most outstanding musicians in the genre"
- Sheffieldmusic
"insightful [...] melody twists in and out of everything. Delightfully gentle"
- The Beat Surrender
"Arguably the most noticeable quality attributable to All Intents and Purposes however, is that it's not a record imbibed with any real kind of modern-day vigour. Rather, it sounds as if it belongs steadfastly to another age inhabited by jaded experience. Movingly poignant"
- Sandman Magazine
"All Intents And Purposes has a heavy country influence, but March of Dimes always take pains to sound fresh, with the inclusion of a few unexpected instruments...The majority of people will find [it an] interesting and varied listen. Worth checking out if you like your music mellow, melodic and poignant.
- LeedsMusicScene 3.5/5So, if you haven't bought the album, why not?! Links are in the About us below :)
We're going to book some gigs very soon - if you'd like to offer us a gig, get in touch :)

Hello! If you look at our myspace page you'll see a "Buy now" button, where you can now buy copies of the album on CD to take pride of place on your shelf, and say "G'night!" to before you go to sleep.
We're working on some other nice bits and bobs for you to buy to show the Dimes love, and we'll (of course) keep you posted!

Hello lovely dimers! We've had a couple of rather nice reviews: http://www.thebeatsurrende..r.co.uk/daily/recordbox/al..l-intents-and-purposes-mar..ch-dimes/http://www.sandmanmagazine.co.uk/reviews/a015.htm“With harmonies to die for, poignant lyrics, strong vocals and tight playing this has to be one of the most rounded and consistent albums of 2008.” Paul Abraham, leedsmusicpromotions. “The sound is tighter and more developed and you can hear the effort and emotion coming through in each song. Their new-found confidence really puts them ahead of the game in Leeds’ ever growing indie scene.” www.tuborgmusic.com The album's now on iTunes, or if you come to a gig you can buy a CD copy, and fairly soon we'll have an online shop set up too :)

Hello to you lovely Dimers!
Best start out with the apology - sorry we've been a bit quiet on here, there's been so much going on we've wanted to tell you about, and we'll do our best to let you know what's going on in the world of March of Dimes a wee bit better :)
First of all, we've had great fun at some gigs around and about lately - playing Gary Stewart's Gaslight club was a bit of a challenge as we had to re-arrange the songs for the special stripped back set, but really worth it actually put a really nice dimension on songs like Matt's Party...
Next up we did a warmup gig with our new guitarist Gordon, who's looking after the guitars while Robin is over in Canada. Theres quite a few videos of that gig, including the Cracks in the Floor one now on our profile...
Which brings me to the profile! Look! It's had a lick of paint! Hope you like it, we reckon it feels more homely already.
A barn-storming set at the Library supported the lovely Albert Ross and the Otters, and led to a chance meeting with the lovely Danni Casey, who's been taking some great shots of the band at our recent gigs.
So! A new year dawns, and it's already shaping up to be a hell of a good one... A lovely gig in Sela with new found friends Maggie8 (http://www.myspace.com/maggieslovelymusic) and older friends Steve Ward, a couple of victors and an otter.
We've been writing (gasp) some new songs too! We still love All Intents and Purposes, but it's time to start working on what our next release will be - and we'll have more details on *THAT* in the summer :)
So, that's you all up to date - thanks for all the support so far and I promise to not let it be so long till we catch up again. In the meantime do let us know how you've been :)
Much love, Sean from t'Dimes x

Dear all. I must take a moment to inform you that, apart from Lewis, I am the only person in the whole world to have heard the the 4 new songs mixed and by God they are good. Lewis made a comment about having to lower the bass on one and something else that only a madcap producer can hear. I was blown away by them all. He and We have done an outstanding job....11 songs, 10 months is not a bad ratio.
They will be fully unveiled on Tuesday and popped on this very page for you to listen to, make up your own minds and I hope you agree with me about their quality. I do of course recognise I am not the most objective of critics. Following that they will be on sale shortly; after once we've got the art work sorted that is.
The preliminary running order is
If We Only Had One Day. Talking To Myself. Not Bad, Just Different. The Great Illustrator. Foxes and Convicts. Lindbergh's Baby. Matt's Party. Waiting To Land. 4am:Division. The Golden Age. Cracks In The Floor.
That's all for now kids, Speak soon. J

Ok, ok, I know it's been a long time but, as those of you who know us well will know, it's been a fraught time. Unfortunately not busy with music...my brother and I have had to deal with the death of our father. He died on December 5th after succumbing to a brain tumour two months earlier. I'd like to take this opportunity to say thank you to anyone who sent a card or flowers, made a phone call, dropped in to help, attended the funeral or offered words of support. They were all invaluable and it made it all a little bit more bearable. He was an amazing man and the 400 strong congregation at his funeral paid homage to that. The collection raised at the service was £1300 for the palliative care ward where dad spent his last few weeks. He was always an avid supporter of our music which is why, upon it's release, the album we have recorded will be dedicated to him. Thank you all again! So, we have finished recording our album, which was something we weren't sure we'd be able to do but thanks to the unexpected return of a Mr. Lewis Sleeman to twiddle our knobs we have been able to finish the last four tracks. These will be combined with the previous 7 to make a super 11 tracks long-player. The 4 tracks in question where the newest additions to our arsenal. They feature 3 songs played live and received very well.... including 1) The Great Illustrator; debuted to a wonderful reception at Santiago's in Leeds. Fittingly, our best gig...Thanks Matt for the support slot and anytime you what to use the studio, drop me a line. (Incidentally a review of this gig is available at www.tuborgmusic.com/artists/March%20of%20Dimes.aspx). 2) Matt's Party, a song about one hell of a night...thanks Amy. 3) Foxes and Convicts, a song about getting away from it. The fourth song is a never before heard before track called Cracks In The Floor...We love you Peter Moss. The, as yet untitled, album will be available from shops in Leeds but also, given time, downloadable from itunes so no matter where you are you can get you hands on it. There are a few people who I've promised it to free of charge, you know who you are so be patient and save your money. However, if the previous release was anything to go by the artwork alone will be worth your cash. Those clever Cats at TurnKey aren't half talented. Finally, for now, we have entered the Glastonbury Competition...we'll keep you posted. Thanks again for your time. J.........sorry for any spelling mistakes.
