Jazzy, eccentric, catchy, and exciting. Redlight Romance pulls it all off with their newly released demo: Nocturnal (total of 10 tracks, 5 of which are bonus songs.) The first being "High and Dry," not only is it energetic and inviting but it's also provocative. In face with a voice like Joseph Hunt's and witty guitar solos from Sean Andrzejewski almost all ten tracks end being at least a little provocative. Combined, all the tracks seem to flow together uniquely to produce a quite funky vibe that keeps listeners satisfied. But, soon enough the listeners will become fans. It's true, Redlight Romance is the new addiction! Speaking of addictions, number four, "Heartbreak Free" is 'just one of those songs.' The type of track you find stuck in your head on repeat dwindling on and on but never gets old. It's catchy and simple yet the perfect recovery song for any breakup. That inspirational song that leads a night full clubbing because you're single and "heartbreak free." Then to follow it up track 6, "Thief In the Night" lures in all ages! It's hypnotic beginning leads to a bit of edgy keyboarding by Jonny Miller; a sparkle of seductive vocals, and then to really leave their mark, a bash of bass, guitar, and drum solos. "Thief In the Night" is a musical masterpiece! With that track alone they're destined to make it big time. So, check them out and see for yourselves. But, be prepared to be addicted to their funky, eccentric vibe. Redlight Romance is based out of Erie, Pennsylvania; their myspace is located at http://myspace.com/redlightromance -Wishing you the best of luck: Rebecca Woods from Stereop Magazine

Verona Grove definitely knows how to make a musical entrance. This was my first time listening, debating, and criticizing their new album The Story Thought Over. I have many thoughts and conflicting feelings for Verona Grove. First off I'd like to say they're almost guaranteed to make it. Why? Because they are just another seventeen year old fetish, a typical "boy band." A little sappy and a nice rebellious vibe, their bound to make it right beside Hannah Montana. Other than that enormous downfall, Verona Grove has very catchy, memorable, "sing-along" lyrics. Their vocalist, Tony Anders, has an unusually heartfelt voice that could melt away a teenage girls' heart; along with that, the guitar and drums are very energetic. It's pure pop-punk fun! Almost all eleven tracks on The Story Thought Over seem to just blend together, which isn't so good. However, two of those eleven caught my eye. The first being "Broadcast the News." The beginning is what mainly caught me; the eruption of a great drum and guitar solo won me over. Right along with track number six, "Revolution." This song is destined to be a major hit. Slow and inspirational the teen scene will adore it right along with the members of Verona Grove. All in all Verona Grove definitely has a big chance of becoming something more than a silly garage band. All three members are very talented just a little stuck. I think a little diversity could be a big push in their ever growing musical career. Verona Grove will be the new teen scream. Wishing you the best of luck: Rebecca Woods. {Verona Grove is a 3 piece pop-punk band from Wisconsin, visit their myspace @ myspace.com/veronagrove}

I recently did a follow up interview with Jordan, the mastermind behind Dance Floor Envy (based out of Highland, IN) and here are the lovely results:

SM: What’s the origin of the name? Have you changed the band’s name before?

J: The origin of the name is actually rather odd. I was listening to "California Love"(one of my favorite songs) and one the lyrics Dr.Dre rapped sounded like Dance Floor Envy even though I know that that is not what he's actually saying. I liked that idea for a band name right away, but I wanted to figure out a deeper meaning to it. The deeper meaning to it is that Dance Floor Envy is that type of jealousy you get when you're one of the wall flowers at a school dance, and you see your crush dancing with the cool guy/girl. That jealousy is sometimes what drives you to lead your own life and be the best version of yourself. And that is what my overall message is in the end. Go out, do what you love, and just be yourself because "cool" doesn't really exist.

SM: What can you tell me about your instruments? (i.e., Are you subject to brand loyalty or will you play with whatever’s available? What made you choose the instruments you have now? Was it cost or was it a style/model/brand/color preference?

J: My main instrument is my computer. The program I use is actually called Acid pro. It is not a very advanced program, but it's what I can afford at the moment. Once I can afford it, I would like to switch to a better program to make/write the music for my songs.

SM: How has your music evolved since you first began?

J: My music has changed a lot since I first started. It's been just over a year since I started, and when I started, I sang really poppy songs that had no meaning to me. Back then, my beats also weren't made by me but by Adam Raschka(ex. Facing Giants and Stun the World.) Then I started making the beats/music on my own, but I took the project to a more mellow indie route. The music got a little bit better, but I still wasn't that into, because most of the lyrics weren't things I felt strongly about. Now, listening to the newest song of mine, "our voices carry", the project is finally where I want it. The lyrics are very personal now, and mean a lot to me. And also, metal music is what got me into playing music in the first place 10 years ago. So, I'm very happy to have gone back to my roots for the new songs, and to finally start being honest with my lyrics.

SM: Where have you performed? What are your favorite and least favorite venues? Do you have any upcoming shows?

J: I have played Bean Counters in highland, Stand up Comics in Lansing, and Lake Station Eagles. I loved playing all these venues, but I was pretty bummed when I heard of Bean Counters and Stand up Comics closing as venues. ANd I do have a show coming up. My first in about 6 months actually. But it is October 17th for Filthfest 2 at Laporte Co. Fairgrounds. The Show starts at 2p.m. and has a ton of great bands. I will be playing 100% all new songs from my upcoming debut ep.

SM: Is there anyone you’d like to acknowledge for offering financial or emotional support?

J: I would definitely like thanks my family first off. They have listented to every song the second I get out of the studio, and they've offered tremendous support. I want to also point out my brother, Jon, specifically. He taught me a lot about just being myself and loving it. If it wasn't for him, I don't think this project would've evolved the way it did. I would also like to thank my girlfriend, Samm. She is a great vocalist, and has been teaching me how to sing better. She's helped me out a lot with this project. I also want to thank my cousin Andy Vassar for performing guitar on my new single "our voices carry". He did an incredible job, and he will be appearing on some other new songs for the ep. As well as Corrine and Nicky and The Missing Piece Clothing/tmp art for taking my new promo shots, letting me wear some of the gear, and being great friends. Everyone should go check out tmp art now. They have amazing clothes and art.

SM: What are your rehearsals generally like? Do you have a set time each week in which you practice or are rehearsals more spontaneous?

J: There is definitely no set time for me to rehearse each week. Usually a couple times a week, I'll go in my bedroom, crank the music, and just rehearse. It usually just kind of happens ha.

SM: Could you briefly describe the music-making process?

J: Well, I write most of the lyrics in my car. I write my best material while driving. I would probably attribute that to the fact that I feel most comfortable when I'm driving somewhere, and it's also definite privacy while writing. Then I write the music/beats on my computer and see what lyrics fit. When I find lyrics that work, I write the rest of lyrics. The I just take the music into Hey Charlie Studios where we record vocals. A huge thanks to Hey Charlie for the great they do!

SM: What genre of music do you consider your work to be? Who are your major influences?

J: I consider my music electronica/metal/pop. I also like to use my own term "zombie pop" to describe it, just because of the huge influence from horror movies in my writing. My biggest influences right now are Metallica, Hollywood Undead, Fall Out Boy, and poet e.e. cummings. I know that last one if kind of a curve ball, but I fell in love with his poetry years ago, and I still love his writing.

SM: How can fans-to-be gain access to your music? Do you have a website with sample songs or a demo CD? (besides MySpace)

J: Right now, the best access is myspace. People can also follow me on on twitter for updates on the project( @dancefloorjrdan). Also, I am working on my debut e.p, and it will hopefully be out early 2010. Or again, come see me October 17th at Filthfest 2! haha.

SM: Any last words or comments?

J: Just thanks to those who are reading this and those who continue to support my music. I love you all and the support means the world to me. I hope to see some of you on October 17th, and I hope you all enjoy my newest single, "Our Voices Carry".
