Oooh shit! We are just in the process of tracking our debut album at Hitwall Recrording with the skilled Mat Strickland at the controls. The brunt of it is done and only accordion Ben has to add some sweet accordion and thunderous keys to the mix. The majority is live and going to TAPE! It was a rough schedule but it sounds great. Can’t wait to finish it and make it public!

Shit! Last blog was in June. It takes a lot of energy to keep up with all the "communities" here in the digital world. We barely have time to see our friends out there in the real world. Anyhoo,
we played our first show since the break up at Mojito in North Beach in San Fran. It was off the hook!!! Thank you all for coming out dancing all night. Great vibe. Thank you so much Mojito for having us, we hope to be back. Those guys were great to work with, and the place has a good vive.
Ok, next up are recording of full lenght record. Sometime in Jan-Feb of '08.
Weee and stay heavy!

What are you guys going to do on your break???
Well, here is the inside scoop:

ChrisT (drums) will repaint the cottage on his roof. That's where he has his pirate radio station K-DONG. All polka, all night.

John (bass) will be fishing for the entire time. Focusing mainly on various strands of trout and the native Jumbo Guppie.

Carlos (percussion) will be tending his rabbit farm and read up on Nietzsche.

Jason (trombone) is doing his last show with us (waaaaah!). He's one of the true originals of the band, but his job as travelling nudist is taking up more and more of his time.

Arlen (accordion) will devote more time to running his congregation.

Mike (trumpet) will put some extra energy into his second career as an Ultimate Fighting contender. He just bought a big cage to put in his backyard.

Stefan (git and vocals) will just work on his tan and practice jazzercise.

See you all soon!

We're going on a short break. We've been playing a lot for the past year and a half, and it's been great, but we need to simmer down and re-charge for a bit. We'll be laying low (unless we're offered to go on tour opening for Ozomatli or some Luaka Bop band or something :)). We're booking some shows for the fall already. We're also doing one last show at Papa Toby's Revolution Cafe next week, and we're playing at Cafe Van Kleef's in downtown Oakland TONIGHT!

Big thanks for everyone who's been out supporting and partied down with us. We hope to see you for these last shows, and then again in a few months!

The show at the Independent in SF, Latin Rock night was great. A real pro production and real nice staff and other bands. Los Abandoned and Volumen Cero also played and both were real solid. Much more heavy rock than us, but they had rhythmic elements and arrangements that was real different and fun. Oh, and the sound was massive. Got some new fans too - hey all of ya and hope to see you at our other shows too. Tomorrow night we play with The Loyd Family Players at the Rockit Room, also in SF. They're a bunch of old Brazilian drumming friends who has this fat drum troupe. It'll be a blast!

It has taken a few tries, but it took the talented Andrew Britt to finally roam around a packed Papa Toby's Revolution Cafe to shoot some video of LFT in action. It helps that the guy is a walking tri-pod/jib-arm with his 6'5". Enjoy, there'll be more!

Yoda! Things are rolling on well for LFT. 2007 is starting off to be an exciting year. Only February and we already have shows booked until July, and there's more to come. We're getting ready to record our first full length album. Most likely here in Oakland. It'll be a blast. It's time to document the tunes we've been playing for a while and cable it out to people. If you have good show suggestions or something else to share, don't hesitate to get in touch. Tja!

Yet another fat ass thanks to all of you coming out to Papa Toby's Revolution Cafe this past Friday (Feb 2). It was off the chain!!! Those nights have all been total happy dance parties, and it looks like we're going to do a monthly gig there! Totally great news since we love playing there, and Andre the owner is a great guy. We got some hot video from the show so that'll be up soon. Tja!

Well whoppee. Hope all are enjoying the holidays. It's been great resting and taking it easy. Watching shitloads of movies. We've been offered a couple of New Years shows, which is really great, but none of them turned out to be a good match right now. Next year. Happy New Years to all from Luminous Family Trust, and see you in 2007.

Big thanks to all of you who came out to rock out with us when opening for the great Bat Makumba this past weekend (Sat Nov 11) at the Elbo Room in San Francisco. That band truly rocks the house. Pictures from the eveing will be up soon. Especial big thanks to the dude who threw up on the dance floor before it all started. It just made slick dance moves so much easier, haha!
There are some other great shows in the work, so keep your eyes open ans andalert alert!
