The new album is done. Actually it has been done for some weeks now.
We are trying to take care of business now, to get it properly released and taken care of.
Who knows when it'll see the light of day?

But we are starting to build an enormous appetite for playing live again. We did a gig here in Trondheim, which was the first gig with new bassplayer Trond Frønes. We had a great time, and we hope to get a reason to do some touring in the not so distant future...

There's a pretty shitty phonecamera-recording of us doing a cover of ZZTop's Beer Drinkers and Hellraisers, with Trond and Per sharing microphone duties here:

Back to beer drinking and paper working.

Hi guys!
Just a quick update to tell you that we have wrapped up the recordings for our next full length album. Now, we've put the material in the highly proficient hands of Tue Madsen down at Antfarm Studios in Denmark. Safe to say, these are exciting times as we're waiting to hear the first results of this intriguing cooperation!

You can, just for the fun of it, check out some pics from the studio sessions in our "images" section.

Two spontanous studio days that started it all!

Back in 2005 Goat the Head recorded the "Neander Tales EP", a collection of 8 impetuous songs that in many ways were written at the same time as they were recorded. Left Horn Records released the mini-album in the summer of 2006, but lacking decent distribution, Left Horn management rather stored the copies in high-quality oaken barrels to acquire harmonious and organoleptic characteristics. Now the time for consumption is finally here, as Neander Tales has become properly available from our friends over at CDBABY. Head over to http://cdbaby.com/cd/goatthehead and order your piece of primitive metal history today!

Goat the Head on Neander Tales were: Vegar "Vyl" Larsen (Keep of Kalessin), Snorre Hovdal, Ketil Sæther and Per Spjøtvold.

Hey guys! It's been a while! Here are some updates from the good ol' goats!

First things first:
We've had some changes in our primal caveman personell. Goat the Head and bassist Snorre Hovdal has decided to part ways. There's not much drama in this, we've just evolved in somewhat different directions. Goat the Head are still very grateful for everything Snorre have done for the band and will naturally wish him all the best in his future endeavours!

New man responsible for the low end frequencies in the caveman collective is mister Trond Frønes. Trond has a broad musical background and some of you may know him from bands such as Cadillac and All Trouble. We're very excited to see what the future can bring with Trond in on the troglodyte team.

As you've probably noticed we've updated our myspace site a little. We've added a top menu which includes some new elements:

VIDEOS
We've established a Goat the Head channel over at Youtube where you from now on will find all official video relases from the band. We've uploaded the Darwinian Minions video in high resolution for your viewing pleasure, as well as we've put up some live footage from our appearance at this year's Storås Festival. Head over to youtube and check it out!

MERCHANDISE
Goat the Head has entered a collaboration with UK company Razamataz in order to bring you the best in official merchandise. Rancid designs are under production and will be available soon at http://www.heavymetalonline.co.uk/

HEADZINE
Goat the Head's own webzine, the place for cavemen rants and low-brow articles. Coming in 2009!

Work on our sophomore full length album is well underway. We've already recorded one preproduction of eight songs and it's not bad. Not bad at all. As a sneak peak, here are some titles for you: "Primal Caveman Death Metal", "Salt", "Uncanny Valley Clan" and "Bestial Domestication". There are even som nifty surprises in store...

Kenneth has been busy lately setting up a tribute to Slayer which will be taking place at Blæst here in Trondheim this upcoming Saturday (13th of December). The band consist of the new Goat the Head lineup in addition to Christian Broholt from Thorns. Per will sing a song our two, but the vocal duties will be divided among a great selection of guests, all eager to make this a memorable night with the best metal tracks written in history, performed with the rawness and intensity that Slayer deserves.

Finally, there's a small interview over at Eternal Terror for you guys reading Norwegian.

SOUTH BY SOUTHWEST
Well, it looks like the travelling troglodytes survived poisonous reptiles, semi-poisonous beverages and  homicidal metal mexicans beneath the scorching Texan sun at the glorious South by Southwest festival in Austin earlier this month. We spotted the drummer of Hanson! A BIG thank you to our honorable host: Lady Stardust, we are extremely grateful for you letting the dubious cavemen into your home! We played a furious show and broke the stage tech’s nose. Oh, yeah, sorry about that! Sure hope to get the chance to come back and tour the US again soon!

INFERNO FESTIVAL
One day off to fix the jet-lag, and we were off to the Inferno festival in Oslo. A introductory study in devianthropology for the kids on Wednesday, and a full packed John Dee on Thursday! Great success!

GET IN THE RING 2
Our full GITR2 performance will be screening on Rockworld TV at these dates and times:
