I just uploaded a new demo of "Hide The Faces," completely remixed and featuring Parker Smith on drums. Check it out and let me know what you think.
The new song that was up last week will definitely make a re-appearance sometime in the future. I just wanted to tweak some things in the mix, etc. I appreciate the positive feedback it received while it was up.

Current mood:googly moogly
So anyone that even remotely knows me knows that I rarely, if ever listen to the radio. I'd much rather hook up my ipod in my car and drive around listening to stuff that actually makes me love music more than drive around trying to find something decent amongst the mindless drivel that comercial radio stations are trying to shove down our throats (i've yet to figure out what it is in that "Photograph" that's making that Nickelback guy so angry that he feels the need to yell at me about it through my radio). I'm usually pretty happy with this arrangement. I buy some stuff off of itunes, get some rarities from cruising music blogs, load them onto my ipod, and i'm good for a while. this works great for artists or albums that i already know are great, but i hardly hve the kind of money that i can go buying new music all the time, expecially when i'm in the mood for something new that i may not be sure if i'm going to like. So i am now indebted to my friend Larry for introducing me to Pandora Radio. It's internet based, so it won't work in the car, but it's become a great way for me to listen to music at home or any time i'm around a computer, and it's been great for helping me discover new music and finally get around to hearing some of those artists that i've been wanting to check out but haven't had the money to take a chance on. basically, you put in the name of an artist or a song you love, and it creates a "station" based on that artists' style. it will play songs by that artist and choose things they think you may like based on that preference. it continues to narrow the focus by giving you the option of approving or disapproving individual songs. you can create multiple "stations" and listen to whichever one you're in the mood for at the time. I honestly haven't been this excited about listening to music in a while. i get to listen to a lot of stuff i love, while being introduced to a lot of other good stuff. i highly recommend it. thanks larry.

We (my wonderfully talented backing band and I) have a couple of videos on Youtube from our Village Tavern show in April. One is a tune of mine (one of my wife's favorites) called "still alive" and the other is a cover of Ryan Adams' "firecracker," which we played just because it's a fun tune. I would love it if you guys checked them out. I think they both give a pretty good representation of what a live set sounds like with the band. Here are the links:

Also, Jonathan Vick filmed the footage. He's an excellent videographer if you need any of that kind of stuff done.

because Apple should stick to making computers and ipods, and leave the headphones to people who do them well. for twenty bucks you can't beat these. they've barely left my ears in two days since i got them. an incredible improvement over the stock ipod earbuds.
