RODNEY ON THE ROQ -- The Waking Hours are honored to receive a spin by the most legendary radio DJ that has ever walked the earth, Rodney Bingenheimer! During last Sunday’s show Rodney played “New Revolution” from our “How Does It Feel” EP.

You can tune into Rodney’s show every Sunday night from Midnight till Three (PST).  In the Los Angeles area turn your radio station dial to 106.7FM KROQ And streaming on the web
WWW.KROQ.com

NEW VIDEO:  We’re tremendously excited about the video we shot last week directed by Erik C. Emerson and produced by Ellen Stafford.  It was a real pleasure and honor for us to work with them, and the many talented folks in the industry that showed up to help.  We can’t tell you too much about the concept as we’d hate to ruin the surprise, but you can catch a glimpse of the set on our myspace page.  The video features “Erased”, one of the new songs that will be on our upcoming full length CD to be released later this year, and speaking of which…....

UPCOMING CD:  The new Waking Hours CD is currently being recorded and will feature at least 12 new Waking Hours songs.  We are in the middle of recording and getting ready to choose the second half of the songs to be included on the CD.   We will feature more updates as we head into the spring, and maybe load up some more demos too.  Stay tuned….

SONG PLACEMENTS:  Here is a list of some of the cool new song placements that we received during January and February of this year:

“Dead” from our “How Does It Feel” EP was played for over a minute on the show “Bad Girls Club” on Oxygen (Episode 7)
“New Revolution” from our “How Does It Feel” EP:

·         Played on “Ghost Whisperer” in a late January episode....

·         played for over a minute on the show “Bad Girls Club” on Oxygen (Episode 6)

·          played in the film “Slap Shot 3: The Junior League” - just hitting the new release shelf at rental stores

“Sparks” can be heard in the trailer on DVD’s for the home theater release of “Pineapple Express.”

“New Revolution” and “Break Away” are in the film “Balls Out: The Gary Houseman Story,” coming out early 2009 and starring Seann William Scott and Randy Quaid

NEW VIDEOS POSTED ON YOUTUBE:  Check out some really cool live Waking Hours acoustic and full band performances posted by our good friend Rosanna on YouTube.

LIVE SHOWS:  The Waking Hours are currently taking a break from playing live shows while we focus on recording.  Keep an eye out on our site, as we’re sure to be scheduling shows heading into this Spring and Summer.

Stay tuned for more news and updates soon!

Love,
The Waking Hours

Hello folks!  The Waking Hours have completed a video shoot for a song off of our latest EP "Close to Me".  A 12 hour night session in Pasadena, high atop the South Campus College of Art and Design rooftop with Director Mike Venezia and crew.   Mike's worked with Plain White T's and Avenged Sevenfold  and was fantastic during the shoot.  We can't wait to see the final cut and will be sure to share it with everyone as soon as we can.

In other news - we're in the process of ironing out a bunch of new tunes for our next CD - it will be a full length that we're hoping to have out sometime this summer.  Some of the songs we've been playing in our live sets since last summer, and some are completely brand new.   We'll keep you posted on things as the progress.

We'll also be releasing a couple rare and out of print WH CDs on Itunes - look for both "The Early Years" and our very first EP from '97 in the coming weeks.

See you soon!

We hope everyone out there is having a marvellous holiday season so far.  There are some cool goings on in the world of the Waking Hours right now -- here's a quick update...

  Acoustic Show Posted!

First, we've just posted our acoustic show from Nov 27th at the Stone Bar in Hollywood, CA.  You can check it out on our Myspace videos page, or on YouTube.  The performance features songs from our EP, and includes several new songs that we're currently recording in preparation for our upcoming full length CD...

  Recording for our Next CD

We've started recording tracks for our next CD, set to be released by Spring of 2008.  The CD will feature all  the brand new, unreleased new stuff we've been working on in 2007.  So far all we can say is that there will be some nice surprises

  Songs Added to Snocap

We've loaded up a bunch of tunes for sale on our Snocap account.  For a limited time only, you can purchase some rare trax from The Early Years CD.  We'll be updating Snocap with more tunes soon.

  Shows in 2008

We've got a few new shows booked for the new year listed on our Myspace page, including our first San Francisco show since Warped Tour 2002...

Have a cool holiday and a great new year!

So it's Fall and the holiday season will soon be upon us - what better way to kick off the season than to release an EP, play some cool shows, shoot a video and get some cool new photos taken??

All this, and more coming soon!

Now that the EP is completed, we've already begun demoing our next CD and have about 16-20 songs to choose from.  Even though we just finished up our first release since 2003's "The Good Way", we're dying to get back into the studio to record an entire new CDs worth of brand new tunes.  No release date scheduled as of yet, but we'll keep you posted as the recordings progress.  In the meantime...

We'll be at Kiss or Kill - October 24th @ El Cid...this will possibly be our last ever Kiss Or Kill show, so definitely be there for the fun!

Our EP release show is set for Sat Nov 10th at the Scene in Glendale.  We'll be playing with our good friends and fave LA band, The King Cheetah

Sat Nov 23rd sees us at the Derby for the very first time, along with Par Avion and more

Stay tuned during the coming weeks for additional news, songs, pics, shows, vids, general hijinx and more....

Love,
The Waking hours
