Me and the wife got this whole Twitter thing rocking, so please feel free to add us if you want! I'd love to hear what you guys think about the new record by the way. twitter.com/thefergusclan. I'd like to also apologize for being so bad about communicating with you guys this past year. Gotten married, had a baby, got a "real" job - it's been a bit crazy to say the least. Big thanks to all of you who got the new record and especially those of you who came out to see us last weekend for the record release events. I still stand by my claim that we have the most hardcore fans of any band out there. If you would have told me 12 years ago I'd still be putting out records and playing shows with the same four assholes I was smoking out with when I was 18, I'd had laughed and smashed a beer bottle on your head. Luckily, I've mellowed out (a bit) over the years. Thanks and love, Ry

Win A Chance to OPEN FOR LUCKY BOYS CONFUSION @ METRO

Stubhy, lead singer of Lucky Boys Confusion, is going to help pick one band to open the Friday, Dec 26th Songs From A Scene show at the Metro in Chicago!!! All your band has to do is show up once (at least) on any Thursday night between Oct 30th and Dec 11th and sign up to play the open jam at Flatlanders (200 Village Green) in Lincolnshire 930pm - 1am. Leave your contact email on the sign up sheet. Stubhy will email the 6 chosen groups on Dec 12th to come back for the finals on Dec 18th, so keep that date open! The winner will play Songs From A Scene on Dec 26th at the Metro for 1100 screaming people!!!

Please only bring acoustic guitars or electrics with small amps. House drums will be provided.

These rules apply -

You do not qualify if you've played Songs From A Scene before!!

Flatlanders is a 21plus venue, you must be 21!!

The only way to win this spot is by playing, please don't email Stubhy or anyone else involved, it will not help!!!

Also, please do take note -

Dec 26th will be large rock show - you have the best shot at winning if you are some version of a full rock band but strip your songs down for the open jam since its a small room

Stubhy is involved but does not make all the final decisions

There will be many factors for winning, the winning act will be what makes the most sense for the show (stylistically, musically, vibe wise ie a 60+ jazz trio although may be the best group, just doesn't make sense to play a pop rock show)

Thanks a lot, see you out there, spread the word to your band friends, playing the Metro can open a lot of doors for bands!!

Best Buy has partnered with Chicago-based recording artist Ryan Fergus (Lucky Boys Confusion) to develop and oversee the brand-new Best Buy Musical Instruments Store in Downers Grove!

The store itself, opening on Friday, July 18th, will be located within the existing Downers Grove location (1432 Butterfield Rd) and will carry guitars, drums, keyboards, pro-audio, home recording gear and much, much more.

Best Buy Musical Instruments will be carrying high-end brands, including Fender, Gibson, Roland, Korg, Yamaha, Line 6, Drum Workshop, Shure and Zildjian. The Downers Grove location will also be teaching lessons and doing repairs in-store.

Best Buy Musical Instruments is actively looking to put together a winning sales team to help introduce this new initiative to Chicagoland; we are looking for individuals that meet the following criteria:
- Must be passionate about music
- Proficiency in one instrument or more
- Knowledge about musical instruments and accessories
- Upbeat, positive attitude
- Able to work weekends and evenings
- Sales experience preferred
- Ability to teach basic lessons and do repairs preferred

If you think you'd be a great fit for Best Buy Musical Instruments, please send a resume to ryan.fergus@bestbuy.com for consideration.

Best Buy Musical Instruments will have their grand opening on Friday, July 18th and will be having live music throughout the month to help celebrate, so mark your calendars to plug in and play!

Hey guys I'm giving away a song through download all this week!!

I wrote this song during the LBC hiatus a couple years back - it was all the emotions I was going through and had gone through being in Lucky Boys Confusion.

I hope you guys like it.

First and foremost, Ryan Fergus (our drummer) just had a beautiful baby boy (well, his wife did), his name is Ryder Michael Fergus.

I went to go see him a couple days after he was born and he's very cute and is going to be a little hellraiser for sure!!

On just a slightly smaller note, my chinchillas are going to have babies! I'm just being stupid but yes, they really are, if we have more than 2 we might find homes for a couple, they can have up to eight!!!

June 13th Adam & I will be playing an acoustic set at Flatlanders in Lincolnshire similar to our Beat Kitchen shows that we just played. Last time we played in January the show sold out. These shows are a lot of fun, we tell stories about the songs - as long as the crowd isn't too obnoxious - and drink and have an intimate party setting show. Make sure to get tickets soon or get there when doors open.

July 26th Lucky Boys Confusion at House of Blues Chicago!!! It'll be our only full band show of the summer, get your tickets asap, they will go fast - we will announce the other bands very soon!

BIG NON-BABY NEWS!!! I have a new band called the Insecurities. We are kind of like a Ryan Adams, Bright Eyes, Counting Crows, Bruce Springsteen vibe mixed with songs like South Union, King Of Apathy & Never Like This. We don't really have any quality recordings up right now, just some stuff I did myself on Garageband w/out any real mics, but we do have some live videos of our first impromptu show. We filled in for Shock Stars after 3 practices, it was still awesome just a little loose. June 10th we start recording our studio album and we have some great names helping us out with the project - Steve Gillis (Filter), Dan Duszynski (This Is Me Smiling), Brian Sherman (Shock Stars) and of course, James Harley (LBC, Quiet Drive) and a plethora of my musician friends doing cameos on it.

So please, please go check it out now and add us and we'll put the songs up in July or early August!

www. myspace. com/theinsecuritiesmusic

On more news, American Taxi (www. myspace. com/americantaximusic), Shock Stars (www. myspace. com/shockstars) and the Insecurities (www. myspace. com/theinsecuritiesmusic) will all be taking part of this years MOBfest (www. chicagomobfest. com). MOBfest is an annual showcase of up and coming Chicago music and is a really great event to expose some worthy bands.

Shock Stars June 20th @ Metro w/ the Frantic and Last Fast Action (18+)
American Taxi June 21st @ Metro w/ Inept and Danger Is My Middle Name (All Ages)
The Insecurities June 21st @ Elbo Room w/ Swizzle Tree & Moxxy (21+)

The American Taxi show ends at 10pm and the Insecurities play at 1130 so it's plenty of time to come out and rock both shows that night and catch Shock Stars the day before.

We are making the AmTaxi/Inept the official pre party and the Swizzle Tree/Insecurities the after party so come and party with us!! You might just see some cool cameos.

Any other news? Oh.... still working on getting that LBC "Lost" album out... ssshhhh.....

Stubhy

Oh yeah, to the kid that kept screaming throughout the 21plus Beat Kitchen show while I was trying to telling stories, you're officially on the asshole list! There are other amazing fans that would have appreciated the show that didn't get in and you ruined moments of the show for the people around you. You can now only redeem yourself by video taping yourself doing 200 push ups while blasting "I'm A Bitch" by Meredith Brooks on repeat and sending it to Stubhy@aol.com.
