Lyrics from the album David's Interlude
Available at: www.joshnetsky.bigcartel.com

My Blues

 ....

The sweet smile on my face

Turned cheap, vile and out of place

My cheeks won’t change shape, go away

 ....

No sleep, that’s okay

Believing you’d stay awake

Just speak and that’d take away my pain

 ....

The sun’s a thief

He haunts my dreams

And leaves me with his grief

 ....

My blood is green

It’s Listerine

I bleed to clean my teeth

 ....

If I’m sick let me know

All the symptoms clearly show

I’m good as a coffin in a hole

 ....

Backpack, backyard, now I’m back to where I started

You’re good as a bullet in my heart

You’re good as a bullet in my heart

 ....

Stand back my dear

You don’t come near

Yeah you don’t want to hear

 ....

To hear my blues, my rage

My moods, my hate

That keeps me far away

 ....

Save a Cowboy, Ride a Horse

 ....

What a plan, got me stuck right where you want

Hit my head on the backside of your gun

Shit man, she’s got ways to make you talk

 ....

She shook me off, right off my course

So save a cowboy, ride a horse

 ....

Be my friend, tell me all you’ve got to say

Hold my hand and I’ll probably be okay

Shit man, she’s got ways to make you pay

 ....

She shook me off, right off my course

So save a cowboy, ride a horse

 ....

Give me love, honey, shake me to my core

Take a rich mans heart and give it to the poor

Shit mam’ please come back to me, amore

 ....

She shook me off, right off my course

So save a cowboy, ride a horse

She made me feel like nothing worse

So save a cowboy, ride a horse

 ....

Workin’ for the Law

 ....

Workin’ for the law, we never give up

We drink from our bold ancestor’s cup

A killing spree shook me to my teeth

Take pity on me, I’m sad and shocked

You could call it a war, you could call it protection

Point fingers at me, but I’m just doing my job

 ....

And they took my house

And they took my money

And they took my family on a killing spree

 ....

Give it all you’ve got, it’s worth your best shot

When you fall to the bottom gotta get back on top

I had a fleeting thought

That I too forgot

It was a steep steep drop but now’s no time to stop

Dust was blowing in my face

And kids were screaming in my ears

And all I felt was my tears and the weight of my loss

And the screams got so loud

When I fell to the ground and I prayed to God and my eyes fell shut

 ....

And I wasn’t in hell and I wasn’t in heaven

I was so much higher than that, you can’t even imagine

I was free from the land, somehow I got away

Some people said that I left but I’d say I escaped

 ....

Workin’ for the law, we never give up

We take what we can until you’re gone

 ....

Suit and Tie

 ....

I wear a suit and tie now, I must look so smug

I’m sure it’s been a while since I gave you a hug

But I do love you, I do

 ....

We used to be so simple, we used to be in love

We used to sit around in my back yard catching bugs

Oh I do remember that, don’t you?

 ....

I always wore green pants and I always had a grin

You always had green plants growing out of your skin

I remember, I was afraid to pick them

 ....

In photographs and films I could not tell us apart

There were epitaphs and strings on the brinks of our hearts

But we loved that, oh we loved that

 ....

Yeah, we used to run everywhere, we would always run

We used to race each other and you always won

But I won all our dollhouse smash-em-ups

 ....

Now we lie to best friends and drive around in cars

We barely know each other, our interaction’s sparse

Oh my god, look where we are

 ....

I never found your secret, never cared enough to look

I never read the words at the end of your book

But I should

My lord I shook

My lord I shook

My lord I shook

 ....

Sunshine

 ....

Down in Mississippi…

 ....

Well I went to Californ I A

But I forgot my grocery list

So I stopped in the store for some lingerie

Everyone’s talkin’ bout magnets

 ....

There were chimps carving words in banana peels

Pimpslappin’ birds with their dirty heels, oh lord

 ....

There were lovebirds all the way from hell

We all got along quite well

 ....

Let the sun shine all night long

 ....

Met a mullet grunge trucker in a tricked out beamer

Opened his mouth and gave me his fever

It was the greatest story ever told on this winding grinding bumpy road

 ....

Let the sun shine all night long

 ....

Drinking wine out a glass for beer

4 windows and 15 mirrors

 ....

Let the sun shine all night long

 ....

Apple of My Eye

 ....

Apple of my eye, I love the way you talk

I love the way you sing me to sleep every night

Straight into a mine-field on dreams

 ....

Apple of my eye, you’re heart is full of blue

That’s how I know it’s you

I’ll love and treat you right, there is nothing I’d rather do

 ....

Please look at me, how you haunt my dreams

Please talk to me, have a heart

Let me see, see, see, see

 ....

Apple of my eye, I love the way you swing

I love the way you dance, girl, dance away the night

Oh it’s such a sight to be seen

 ....

I was all alone, I couldn’t see a thing

But then I saw your face

40 watts of light shot right through my eyes to my brain

 ....

This aint’ the first time that I’ve loved, don’t be blind

Don’t think yourself fine, though you are

Please look at me, how you haunt my dreams

Please talk to me, have a heart

Let me see, see, see, see

 ....

Please Don’t be Lonely

 ....

Please don’t be lonely, lonely, lonely, lonely, lonely, lonely, low

Don’t be lonely, lonely, low

Don’t be lonely, lonely, low

Please don’t be lonely, lonely, lonely, lonely, lonely, lonely, lonely, lonely, lonely, lonely, lonely, lonely, lonely, lonely, low

Please don’t be lonely, lonely, lonely, lonely, lonely, lonely, low

Please don’t be lonely, lonely, lonely, lonely, lonely, lonely, lonely

 ....

David’s Interlude

 ....

Bodies tangled in a photo, social but removed

Highways stripping off their pavement, David’s Interlude

 ....

We know who you are and we don’t like you so far

We know who you are and we don’t like you so far

 ....

Oceans melting into forests drying into deserts

Angels listening to music, washing off their feathers

We all catch the bone, catch the bone, catch the bone

We all catch the bone, catch the bone, catch the bone

 ....

Hardships turning into starships turning into stars

Hardships turning into starships turning into stars

 ....

Spiderwebs

 ....

My poor body’s pumpin’, high force machines rustlin’

In drawers and under beds, my love, in spiderwebs

In jars, bottles and cans my heart can be at rest

In parks and widows beds my heart is home at last

Empty dark basements, my love

 ....

Second Best Lover

 ....

Morning pills through dollar bills, ecstasy and surgery

And being with me is better than weed, I’ll take you higher than the highest tree

And the stars up above. I’m your second best lover, you told me so

Second best lover, don’t let go

 ....

Afternoons in black balloons, cracks and dents and accidents

And plaque on your teeth, practice your two-step

Cause god is waiting for your dance

And he don’t look impressed, you’re too sober and dressed

Oh, go to hell

He wished you the best in a wishing well

 ....

Kiss my soul, stitch my shoe

Fix my heart, it’s torn apart by

Christmas and lust

Bitches like us always end up in a fucking cage

And we spit on the floor

Cause the man is a whore, my god he is

The man is a whore, my god he is

 ....

Whiskey on the Stones

 ....

I cut my lip sipping on the blood of god

From a broken China cup

The liquids mixed and the taste was strange enough

I knew that this would happen all along

What went wrong?

 ....

We had a fight in a broken down motel

The room we left was filled with mushroom clouds

You told me I was selfish, what the hell?

It was the strangest thing I’d ever felt

What the hell?

 ....

I’m spending all these nights in bed alone

Drinking whiskey on the stones

She’s at partys taking off her clothes

She told me I was selfish, I’m alone

 ....

You’re so cold

You’re so cold

You’re so cold

 ....

The clock was tick-tick-talkin’ on the phone

It’s tellin’ me to hit the fucking road

The trees and growing new leaves

The Moon is full

It’s such a beautiful day, I’m going home

Going home

Going home

Going home

Going home

Going home

Going home

Going home

 ....

Home

 ....

Don’t be a stranger, won’t you say hi

Watching the snowflakes float in the sky

They’ll be alright, you should just come inside

 ....

He was a child of sweetness and charm

Folding a broken wing in his arm

That’s how he’ll get there, that’s how he’ll fly to the stars

 ....

Now you’re so old, you’re so grey, you’re so white

You’re so cold, you’re so brave, it’s alright

 ....

Come on inside

Come on inside

Come on inside

Come on inside

Hey, I'm home. We're all home. Nobody is injured and we're all happy, clean and well slept by now. It was an interesting past few days though.

After the show in Providence we went to West Springfield on our day off to stay at a run down hotel, drink bear, eat pizza and wings and watch T.V. It was a true day off. You should have seen the pool at this hotel. Gross as hell, full of muck and everything. There was no swimming involved.

Here is Sam expressing himself in the morning

And thennnn we went to Albany where we played music in a park and met some sweet people, ate at an excellent
burrito place called Bombers and played Valentines w/ Restys, the Cave Weddings and the Union Boots. We were
reading a local paper before the show and saw that Fastball was going to play Albany.

This fact caused Sam and Ryan to break out the ipod.

After the Valentines gig we went to Syracuse and we had a day off so we tried to find things to do and had a hard time.
We were just looking in the wrong places though. We walked through hospitals in the city trying to find a place to eat for
literally 2 or 3 hours and gave up. Eventually my friend Emily told us where to go and we found some cool stores and things
on Marshall Street. We also were lucky enough to have our day off on the night Chris Duarte played Dinosaur, which was
insane.

Somewhere on the way there we attempted a singalong to the way, but Sam fucked up everything.

The show at Funk 'n Waffles was awesome besides a few sound difficulties. We played with Foma. Phil Smo and Ian
Nicholson. The waffles were amazing and so was the music.

We want to thank all the venues and bands we played with. We most importantly want to thank Marlene, Ira and Maura and Emily
for giving us places to stay and in some cases cantaloupe and ice cream sandwiches.

Can't want to get on the road again.

AS220 was amazing. Ryan and Sam partook in a sweet open mic jazz jam before our show which was very fun. We spent some time at the zoo today.

Here are a few tour updates taken at Rhode Island zoo...

This is an ant eater. Vocals by Ryan and Sam...

Ryan uses his patented brochure technique to assess the potential harm inherent to contact with sloths before approaching the creature.

More videos to come maybe. Got some pictures too.

Playing Albany tomorrow so come out if you're around!

Hello,

I have some internet time so I figure I'll use some of it to write a little blog about how the tour has been thus far.

Show at the Bugjar was awesome, thanks everybody for coming out! We played with the Rosewood Thieves and stayed up very late, woke up at around 6 AM and took off for NY by around 9:30.

About an hour into the trip my vans engine started overheating so we took it into a great repair shop just outside of Syracuse where a kind man named Randy fixed something and made it work again (not car savvy, but thanks Randy!)

The rest of the drive was very filled with mountains. Being in NYC was super hectic besides the gig at Pianos, which was awesome! We ran out of gas in the middle of the City and panic-strickenly searched for a gas station, which we found thankfully!

The next morning we left for Hamden, CT. When we got there we ate some amazing food at a place called SBC, explored music stores, looked for internet (which we couldn't find) and played a show at the Space for about 2 people.

Here's a look at the car ride over:

More soon (if we find internet)

Some of you know over the past month I've been working hard on a new CD in my room. I've been borrowing classy microphones, buying up on old mystical keyboards and spending day and night puzzled in front of a mixer. I've finished off 12 songs that will be a CD I'm calling David's Interlude and I will release the CD on June 18th, just in time for the tour!

On June 18th will be the CD release party/tour kickoff/show with the Rosewood Thieves at the Bugjar in Rochester, NY!

Make sure you come down! The CD will be available for $10, we'll be playing some completely new songs (most of which are on the CD) and the Rosewood Thieves put on an unforgettable show...

From there Overhand Sam, Ryan and I will be parting from Rochester for the first ever Josh Netsky tour. Here are the dates, towns, venues and times:

June 18th - Bugjar - Rochester, NY - 8PM
June 19th - Pianos - NYC, NY - 8PM
June 20th - The Space - Hamden, CT - 8PM
June 21st - AS220 - Providence, RI - 9PM
June 23rd - Valentines - Albany, NY - 8PM
June 25th - Funk n' Waffles - Syracuse, NY - 8PM

Copies of David's Interlude will be available at shows for $10!

Anybody interested in helping to advertise for any of these shows please contact me and I will send you some poster art (or you can create your own) and I'll make sure to put you on the guest list!

Also, if anybody has floor space they could spare for the 3 of us to sleep on after any of the shows we'd really appreciate it! We're trying to avoid pricey hotels. If you'd like to help us out with that send me a message and I'll put you on the guest list and give you a CD!

Some new songs from David's Interlude will be popping up on myspace soon. Keep on the lookout!

we were walkin like puppets
we were sick to our stomachs
and dying, wishing we were fine
but gettin old

i was so sad i couldn't move a muscle
watching the people who've got soul
rhythm and control
they're gettin old!

and i'm crackin' a smile every day
and i don't know about the world
but as for me
i'm looking to the stars for a heaven on mars
hallelujah.

all the things that i didn't do
things that i was indifferent to
haunt me in my thoughts
turn it off

sing me something to ease my mind
bring me something i left behind and lost
never to be found
never turn around!

and i try to make worth while every day
and i don't know about the world
but when i pray
i'm prayin to the stars for a heaven on mars
hallelujah.

hallelujahhhhhh halleluuuuuuuujahhhhh
hallelluuu uuu jahh!!

looking to the stars for a heaven on mars
hallelujah.

You're infectious, your head's rottin' out

In absentia, you're fit like a cow

and even hypodermic needles won't heal you now

We need our limits

We need to hold our booze

You want forgiveness

Who the fuck would forgive you?

You want evidence? All we have to do is...

Get wiped out by foot and mouth

Child, forgive me

I'd give lives and I'd give worlds

I'd give anything

For my darling little girl to not be living

All the while I'm wondering...

Can this be atrocity?

Run away! evacuate, evacuate!

Run away! evacuate, evacuate, evacuate, evacuate!
