Category: Parties and Nightlife

Hey everyone!

It's already been quite a year for all of us. Our March event went fabulously and then we all headed down to Black Oaks Savannah to cheer on our sister Haven. Now this year is bringing us a new home.

We are teaming up with Secret Room, www.secretroom.net , to bring you even more evil fun in Atlanta. Our first co-event is going to be on May 26th at The Jungle. This is our test run and we hope you come out and let us know what you think.

Our Pirates of the Caribbean party is still a go we just don't have a date yet. I want to make sure you all understand the May BA is not replacing our summer event!! This is a compeletely seperate special event for you! In fact you can look for more of these "mini- Black Atlantis"'s as the year goes by and we start bringing you bands between our quarterly events. By doing this we hope to increase Atlanta's Vampyre and goth community and give you fabulous entertainment we would normally miss out on.

Here's to a great '06 and as Capt Jack would say "Pass the rum!!"

I *think* I've finally caught up on sleep. So sorry Onyx for sleeping through you leaving this morning, I'm a terrible hostess. Last night was...wow.. I look at the clock right now and wish I could subtract 24 hours and do it all over again! Thank you everyone who came out! LKCatwoman- you had a very lovely grecian costume. Cheryl and Tim looked great, Tim with a complete rennasiance outfit including a sword! Ofcourse we had a lovely assortment of fairys, sorry to everyone beat up by our wings, I promise your bruises will have fairy dust in them. :) Thanks to Cassie and Wayne for manning our tables, you guys rocked! Lord Alistair and his lovely Lady came up from Savannah- it was truly wonderful to see you and we'll be heading down for Black Oaks on August 12th. I highly reccommend everyone to come. It's only about a 5 hour drive and the city is beautiful, well worth making it a full weekend trip, may I suggest you bug Lord Alistair about the delcious cookies they brought for the promoters, those are the best cookies I've ever tasted!
Electra Happy Birthday!!
We had a kicking line up last night.
Audio Genocide started our evening off wonderfully. I don't know if you guys know it but this was their very first show! Pros from the start, they gave us a reason to get off our bums and start dancing. Hands down a fantastic performance. I know everyone was clammering for a cd, so check them out on Myspace and check out their tracks, www.myspace.com/audiogenocide
Next up was Dead as Romance. Wow, I've never seen them live before but I loved their cd, I just love them more now. They were supposed to make our event in April but scheduling conflicts arose, I'm so glad they were able to play now. We will have to have both these great bands back soon!
Psi closed out our night right on schedule, okay we were 30 minutes late. But it was well worth it. This was my first time on stage with him. Let me tell you, he's a horrid man to work with! Fussy and wants everything to be perfect. But the hours of saying my lines over and over paid off! Even if I had a little bit there I couldn't remember a single thing, Psi shook me back into shape and stole the evening. We all know how awesome Pink Floyd is, but I really think Psi gave them a run for their money. And us as well trying to keep up on the dance floor.
I don't know if anyone noticed, but we were watching the video today of the show and when Psi finsihed, Volitares'  "Because I'm evil" song came on, it was completely appropiate. LOL
Oh, before I forget, huge hugs and appaulse to our wonderful 10 HIGH staff, Jimmy (our door guy), Hans on sound and ofcourse an outstanding welcome back to our best bartender Brandon!!

I know there was some confusion on the door price, we promoted it as $7 and the club promoted it as $5. The door price was $7, but we did grant a few people $5 if they had seen the ad in Creative Loafing. Next event we will be leaving the price at $5 so there is no confusion what so ever.

Speaking of our next event October 26th.  We are doing a Voodoo theme. Our tentative band line up is: PsiVamp, The Unadored and Venus Falling. We also will be having a guest DJ, Th'Elf from Black Trillium (Toronto Canada), this means you can make requests! WOOHOOO
