We're ramping up for this year's Absolute Goodol contest, debatably the most heinous name for a contest ever, but still something everyone on the site looks forward to every year because it's really just that cool!

Here's the cliff notes:   You, or you and your band, or you and your kazoo, you and your dog, whatever, record your version of a Goo Goo Dolls' original song and send the audio file into us.  Your entry will be voted on by your peers and our guest judges including...

*  The Goo Goo Dolls (yes, that's right, the band weighing in on how you sound singing their song)

*  Sylvia Nadler - the incredible director of Compass House

*  Dot Dot Dot - from "The Next Great American Band" and Chicago's hardest working indie band!

* ONE OF YOU!  That's right, send either a video under 1 minute or a photo and 300-word-or-less blurb on why you should be an Absolute Goodol judge!  If you're entering Absolute Goodol, you can NOT be a judge.  But if, like most of us in the basement, you have no musical talent whatsoever, enter so you can judge your heart out!  Send your video or your photo/sorta-kinda-essay-question to contests@absolutegoo.com by June 20th!!

So get cranking on recording those tunes, we'll have more details to follow!

Today is the last day to bid on rare and exclusive items at the Absolute Goo auction for Compass House!  All proceeds benefit Compass House, a youth shelter in Buffalo, NY that provides a safe place for kids in need.  Check out their website at http://www.compasshouse.org!

Once the auction is over, and you've paid for your item via PayPal and send us your receipt for your donation, your items will be shipped out to you.  Easy enough?
