Hello everyone, hope you're well.

Between watching the Balloon Boy drama unfold and making cups of tea we've been busy writing and rehearsing up some new tunes this past week. My personal favorite out of the bunch is called "Warrior."

I have been fascinated by the whole Balloon Boy story.  I watch the interview with the Heene family six or seven times a day and it still shocks me. It's just so entertaining to watch such blatant, desperate and feeble lying. What kind of unemployed, fame-thirsty idiots are these people? Thinking they could fool us! Well we showed them didn't we sheriff?

When you think about it the Heene's really didn't map out their plan very well. Ever heard of a phone call being traced Mr. Heene? Turns out the first call he made after the balloon took off was to a news agency to let them know they had better get a chopper in the air stat.  As an afterthought he told his wife to call the emergency services to make them aware that their child was in a UFO.

Mistake number one: You should make it appear that your child's safety is paramount.

We all know the golden rule is not to work with children or animals on live television and the parents got what they deserved when Falcon went off script and blew the whistle on them during their interview with Wolf Blitzer later that night.

Then, the next morning:

"But I thought lying was wrong daddy?" said Falcon as the Heene family hung out backstage before their appearance on the Today Show.
"Shut up man!" snapped Richard. "We can still make this work."
"It's over father," said Rio. "Just face it. You've made a fool of us all. I beg you, come clean and maybe they'll let you off with just a warning. Please father. For us."
"No!" said Richard as he dipped a carrot in some hummus. "I want us to follow through with the original plan."
"This is making me feel ill daddy," said Falcon. "The doctor said I'm suffering from nervous exhaustion. I think I may be sick during the interview."

Mistake number two: Children can't keep secrets.

During the family's interview on CNN on the night of the incident Richard Heene said that his family wanted to be left alone and that they "weren't even going to do this interview" but then the next morning they appeared on the Today Show doing yet another interview.

Mistake number three: Don't pretend you're not in it "for the show" and then agree to do interviews on numerous television shows because people will think you're lying.

Anyway, if you haven't already got tickets to our Halloween show at Crash Mansion then buy them today to avoid missing out. We're going to be getting into the spirit of things and getting dolled up to the nines.  It's $20 and there's an open vodka bar from 8pm til 10pm then it's $4 beers and $2 shots all night.  Get your tickets here:

Hey everyone, hope you're well and enjoying the summer.

It's a scorcher here in NYC today, 94 and sunny.  Native New Yorkers complain about this type of weather, calling the heat mean things like "disgusting."  To me this type of weather is amazing.  In England we complain all year round about the rainy and gray weather.  Then summer comes along and we go on holiday to Spain and complain that it's too hot while shovelling a full-English breakfast into our mouths.

Our NYC Blitz continued over the weekend with two acoustic shows. On Friday we were at our favorite acoustic venue in the city, Rockwood Music Hall, and on Saturday we were at the Roots Cafe in Brooklyn.  I'd like to offer up big thanks to all those who came to see us at the Bellhouse in Brooklyn last week.  All proceeds went to a very worthy cause, the Ronald McDonald House.  Personally, my favorite show of the Blitz thus far was the one at Arlene's Grocery.  There was just an incredible atmosphere in the venue that night.

In between our constant rehearsing, writing, recording and performing we took some time out to do some photos with our favorite photographer, the very talented Lana Theo.  We'll be posting them soon.

Tonight Coyle and I are going to watch District 9. I'm very excited as all the reviews I've read have been positive.  I'm wearing my Sci-fi outfit, which is a Star Wars tee and a pair of genes that are alien.

Next stop on the YV bus is the Tribeca Grand on Saturday, August 29. It's going to be a wild, crazy, insane night. See you there.

Free, peace, sweet,
Jon

Hello there, hope you're well.

We're all good holed up working on new material which is sounding rather splendid.  We're missing the road though and cant wait to get back out there.

For all you Major League Soccer fans, keep an ear out for our song Champion on ESPN and ABC programming.

The song will be used in bumps, teases and montages for each show from now until the end of November when the MLS season reaches its climax.

Coyle and Jon's Hollywood United match review is also now up on the site:
