I know that many of you might have been confused recently about whether or not Alaska and Me will remain, and I apologize on behalf of all of us for the miscommunication or lack thereof. But the final verdict is that we will no longer be playing together. The last blog posted (Tyler's post) didn't quite cover all the points. The bottom line is that the decision for us to call it quits was not mutual. The decision was actually brought to our attention by our singer and songwriter, Tyler, through a letter that he had our guitarist deliver to one of our band meetings for him. The letter contained everything that Tyler wasn't capable of saying face to face with the rest of us. I believe that what he did hurt most due to the fact that as best friends and band mates he couldn't even take the time or courtesy to break the news to us in person. And also how we could go from being such great friends to not hear a word from him as things have been proving to us. Our reaction was best described when someone said "wow, it feels like we've been divorced man." Though Tyler's explanations for wanting to give up were not completely true to or beneficial for us in any way, out of respect for him, deserving or not, this blog is not intended to be a "hate-letter" against him. I'm writing this so that all our fans and friends know the truth of why this decision was made. I know that Charles and myself would do just about anything we could (as we've been doing) to keep our journey going together if the other two were willing in any way, but the two of us can't carry the weight of the rest of the band all the way as we've been shown. We've had countless memories in the past (almost) three years of AAM's existance and there will be more. But they'll be found elsewhere, as the truthful section of Tyler's "last blog" stated, "make sure to look out for any other projects from AAM members in the future." Because for some of us it truly is our dream and we hope to do everything we can to make it happen. We'll love and miss you all! Especially those who would stay up all night with us to talk nonsense via myspace comments! Thank you all so very much for making the past couple of years such a memorable blast and helping us get as far as we did! I hope that at some point in our time together as a band we might have had some small impact on some of you out there that are reading this now. Please keep in touch with us through our personal myspace(the only space apparently) pages. So long and farewell :)
Sincerely, Ian

Hello friends, i have been searching all night for the right words, and i just don't think they are going to come so i will keep it short and to the point. I regret to inform you that Alaska And Me is parting ways. It has been a long amazing journey these past few years, and we wouldn't have gotten anywhere near as far as we did without you guys. Thank you so much for supporting us and letting us sleep on your couches and singing the words to our songs. I want it to remain clear that this is not giving up, it's merely moving on, and we all continue to be friends. We love you guys, and make sure to look out for any other projects from AAM members in the future.
-Tyler

What we've learned by touring ourselves, or from talking to other touring bands is one thing is for sure, it's a roller coaster ride. There will always be ups and downs, or random curves thrown at you, but the important thing is knowing how to deal with them, or do your best to get through them. That being said, this tour was no different. We had an amazing time, met some amazing people, and almost financially broke even, the key word there being “almost.” After our last show in Phoenix, while we were driving back up the mountain to our homes, with the natural desire for home-cooked meals, and sleeping in our own beds burning in our chest, our Van “The Grey-Goose”’s transmission went completely out and we were stranded on the side of the road outside Payson, a mere hour-and-a-half away from home. We eventually made it home, but our van is still sitting at a Transmission shop in Payson. Those of you who have ever had to pay to replace a transmission don’t need reminding of how expensive it can be, but for those of our readers that have no idea, it’s going to cost right around $2000. We currently have $0 in our band fund, and with SXSW coming up next week, we are in a bit of a pickle. So we ask you for as much help as you can offer! We have set up an amazing sale in our Online Store for you to get some Merch for cheaper than you would anywhere else, and even have a limited edition Tee-Shirt available! So you can visit our online store HERE!If the items in our online store are still too expensive, then we have a few more options available. You can buy our albums on iTunes, or Smartpunk.com. We also have a donate button on our Myspace page, and believe me when I tell you EVERY LITTLE BIT HELPS!!!!! Thank you so much for your support, and GOD BLESS!!!! -Charles

Hey Everyone, As most of you should know by now, we are heading out on tour next week. We are trying to think of some different ways to share our music with more people. The best thing we've come up with is the tried and true method of 'word of mouth', so we're asking you to take a short moment out of your day to help us out. We have made a facebook event for every one of our upcoming shows, and we would love it if you could invite your friends that live near the shows to come to the concert. Below is a list of all of the shows, with links to the event. If you use facebook regularly, you should know that this is an effortless thing, and shouldn't take up much of your time. If you do have a facebook, but don't know what the hell we're talking about, send us a message so i can try to help you out. If you don't have a facebook, you can either start an account, or just tell your friends the old fashioned way (i.e. in person, weird i know). Here are the dates: February 18th, Flagstaff, AZFebruary 19th, Long Beach, CAFebruary 20th, Upland, CA (near LA)February 23, Sacramento, CAFebruary 25th, Medford, ORFebruary 26th, Portland, ORFebruary 27th, Pullman, WAFebruary 28th, Spokane, WAMarch 1st, Pocatello, IDMarch 2nd, Salt Lake City, UTMarch 3rd, Logan, UTMarch 6th, Flagstaff, AZThanks so much for your help! -Charles

Thought you all might enjoy this:)
So on our way into Vancouver for a show last night we were stopped at the border checkpoint to see why we were traveling into Canada. We "accidently" forgot to tell the border control that we were playing a show due to the fact that we did not have work permits to earn any sort of income in the country. But to our surprise they looked up all our tour info and saw all the details on our show for that night... and to make a long story short we are now banned from the entire country of Canada for a full year.
We want to apologize to everyone who made it out to that show. We were more excited than you know to be there and meet you all. Hopefully we'll be able to make it there soon...... in one year!
But on a better note, hope you're all getting amped for the new Album!! it'll be coming out at the beginning of next month! we'll keep you all updated once we get the exact date!
Hope all is well!
Love, AAM
