I am so sorry to have just found out that local Phoenix News Photographer Phil Walsh passed away this last June. I did not know him personally but would speak with him at various news events around town. He was always very nice and helpfull in the field. A real credit to his profession.  I do remember noticing that he had not been around...and that may make me seem like a real boob, but  I miss him now when I am called out to cover breaking news stories. Phil's pressence in the field is missed.  It's kind of hard to explain, but when somehing of importance happens and your called out to cover a story, your use to seeing the "regulars" the PRO'S.  That is what Phil was.... and so I miss ya Phil you were a credit to this crazy world of news.

Thanks for all your tips and quips....

I will give Mister. and Mrs. Obama proper dues... The President and First Lady. And will say this about them, even though I did not vote for Barak Obama (I am a Navy Veteran and have known John McCain for more than 10 years now. I voted for him) Enough about Me and the Mac....As I was saying, Barak Obama in one very quick year has moved the country into a new era. For more than 100 years not until Lyndon Johnson, did any President do anything in regard to Civil Rights. Barak by winning has already equaled efforts great though they were of President Johnson's Civil Rights and Voting Acts. Accomplishments which were a monument to what this country can be.Perhaps as monumental as Lincolns Emancipation Proclamation at the end of the Civil War. By winning Barak Obama has shown us that we can be more than we ever have been before. So many ghosts of the past rush forward into my mind. So, even though I did feel that John McCain would have been a great President, providence has taken us in hand and thrust us forward farther and helped us become better than we were. And isn't that great. I will admit that I still have my doubts about the new President but the American in me tells me/commands me to put those doubts away and do whatever I can to help this new country of ours become even better than it is right now.Now don't get me wrong... I do not think Obama is yet a great man. Just a President Elect. His title is great, and yes..here it comes....it's racial...I admit it. He is the Nation's first Black President. That is a great accomplishment. And I will tell you why. I have lived through 13 Presidential Terms and 9 Presidents. And only one of them did anything during his term for Civl Rights. And this is why (PERHAPS) Barak can be a great President. So many of them fell short of what they could have been. Kennedy, well he didn't have the chance. Johnson was thrust into the curssed Vietman War. Became ill and could not continue...But during that time he became great in his ushering and assisting the Civil Rights Movement. He didn't do it alone but he did get 16 major acts signed into law. All in the throughs of the turblunet 1960's. Nixon just couldn't keep pace with his ego and failed miserably. Ford had a heart but I can't think of any thing he's really rememberd for but those SNL sketches of his bumblings.OH..He pardoned Nixon for his short comings...nuff said. Carter, peanuts and gas lines and hostages. A great man but not a great president...didn't he give away the Panama Canal? Well...he had a great smile, and who can forget Billy Beer? Reagan was a god to me during my youth and so I joined the Navy. But then, Iran Contra and Alzheimers....Love ya Ronnie, "TEAR DOWN THAT WALL!" great line! And I am proud to have called you my Comander in Chief. Then there was George I, Didn't he throw-up on the PM of Japan? How imbarrasing! Bill and the Blue Dress....he too had heart (love ya Hillary, I would have voted for you!!!!Damn it! Will you ever forgive me for now obeying your request to vote for Berak Obama? I know I know..... I had to follow my heart on this one... YOU'RE COMMING BACK AREN'T YOU? WHAT? I DIDN'T HEAR YOU.....ARE YOU?) George W. Bush, forgetaboutit!!!!! Oh God...I was in tormented pains just like the rest of you guys....Great line" fool me once shame on me..fool me twice...uhhh errr that's not nice? REALLY...Kuchinich is right about this guy....

Well....now we have a new President Elect...Berak Obama. I'll light a candle and pray. You have lots to do now...lots to prove.... I'll my part...but you have some real promises to keep. Wheeew....what more can this Republican say.... I'm tired!

Okay...we got up at 5:30 and stood in line...for an hour and 10 minutes.
How is it that people stink so much so early in the morning? I mean....what have they been doing? WHAT? The guy in front of Xavier smelled like a mixture of dead fish and sweat... and the guy behind me.... was so obviously a chain smoker... The smell gave him away..but he was ranting to his landlady about some trashy apartment complex gossip... just totally ruined the patriotic mood I had been in... IT WAS NASTY...
Then... we were in the wrong line...thank GOD that there were three polling stations in one building... and it was just a latteral move. And then..came the moment....
COUNTRY FIRST!!!! ALL THE WAY! YA BETCHA!!!!

Wheeew..  Now comes the waiting...
TIC-TOCK---- goes the clock!!!!!

CHEERS TO ALL THE VOTERS...THAT IS WHAT MAKES THIS COUNTRY GREAT!

Aside from an all out victory... I just have this one hope that "my guy" wins in Arizona.... that would just please me so much!

ya becha!!!

Okay...so last year I got bit by this spider....and the ordeal left my side scarred with two marks where the venom pustulated... An entry wound and an exit wound...the ordeal lasted about 3 or 4 months.

Well about a week ago, it happened again. ONLY THIS TIME IT WAS MY ASS....(TOOK A PICTURE) Not yet posted... I'll wait and see how it progresses. Doctor said he wanted to drain it. Yes...DRAIN. It's a big red whelp on my butt.  If you want to know how scared I am , because of  how painful this is still to become... just google spider bites and look at the photos...it's not pretty.

So much for my visit to the nude beaches  next summer....GOOD GOD I'M IN PAIN!!!!

FYI...JUST GOT RID OF THAT STUPID MOBSTER GAME. It was eating up all my time on myspace... I don't know how I got into the game..did fairly well but need to make real money not virtual. Need to make real friends not freak ones... oh well...just so ya know.

Losers... x2

Losers...

Losers...

Losers... (barely...but show's how important your VP choice can really be.)

Losers...

And perhaps, more losers...?

I can't believe this choice...   When is the Democratic Party ever gong to shape up...I'm just so appalled at this turn of events in Obama's campaign. Why in the world would he choose Joe Biden?

I've never been so on the fence than right now.   I don't think I can vote for the Democratic ticket this year.  It's gonna take some good song and dance to make me even think about it.

John McCain had also better start giving me a reason to vote for him..... About the only thing that would assure my vote for Obama is if McCain chooses Leiberman as his running mate. (how strange, politics)

WOW I'm so mad!!!!  I so hope this is not true...

Grrrrrrrr.....

My little bunny rabbit....SCARED TO DEATH.
1967

1963 Don't remember much about it really...kind of remember a bright light.
1964 Same, lots of love and eating....(actually not much has changed)
1965 My blanket had blue and yellow moons and stars. Lot's of time in my baby bed. I REMEMBER THE BARS. And the safe feeling I got from being there.
1966 Still sleeping in the bed with bars. My big brother snored and scared me late nights. I remember Mom and Dad coming in to shoo away the monster that was living in the closet. Spending tons of time with Dad (I'd wait for him to come home late in the evenings and see if he brought me something in his lunch pail...(My first OREO cookie memory ) And, spending time with him in his workshop. Going out with dad for ice cream cones a late night thing we'd do alone together.

Milton the Monster
1967 I discover cartoons. (MILTON THE MONSTER was my first favorite. Then Bullwinkle.) Having snowball fights with my Big Brothers in the back yard. Our Dog Cleo mother to my first best friend ''Two Spots''
1968 Kindergarden. Teacher Mrs Derkson, she was such a dear sweetheart. I remember nap time (still a favorite of mine) and fingerpainting.
1969 Nixon is President. Watching television and seeing Vietnam on the news. (didn't understand what it was but remember the images) 1st Grade, Mrs Grass---and learning about Aberaham Lincoln. I remember visiting my Grandmother Thompson a lot. Riding a Tilta-Whirl at the carnival.

Me and My little brother (Jimmy) at Grandma's house.
1970 My little brother is born. Spent a lot of time at Grandmas house. Which I loved...but I remember being so upset that I couldn't leave and see my new baby brother right away....was worried about my Mother...
1971 Best friend from across the street Ty Lindsey, (NOW AN OKLAHOMA CITY POLICE OFFICER) Second Grade ...INTEGRATION. Cool but contriversial to some people I remember meeting and making friends with Anthony a black kid who was bussed to John Adams Elementary School.
1972 Third Grade, Mrs. Spraddling. My first battle with the education system. I did not like school. But Mrs. Spraddling noticed I like to create. She gave me a break and let me explain history through drawing instead of writing a report. I ALWAYS HATED SCHOOL!

Cousin Jenny and me... We're off to see the wizard!
1973 Ten years old.... love old scary movies and begin staying up late to watch Count Greagore on late night. Frankenstein and King Kong. My (human) best friend Ty moves to the country with his family and I'm devostated. My Cousin Jennifer is living close by. This year her father commits suicide. My Uncle Don was a gentle man, rattled by his Vietnam experiences. The the terrible way the VA doctors handle his condition with psych drugs made him despondent. His death was the first I'd ever experienced, very confusing. Cousin Jennifer and I have been extremely close all our lives.

Ten years is enough... I'll have to write more another time.

Every year we're sending almost $700 billion out of our nation's economy to foreign nations for their oil. That's four times the annual cost of the Iraqi war and almost one-and-a-half times the projected U.S. deficit for 2009. It ends up in the pockets of a few friends and a lot of enemies. Last year we sent more than $300 billion to countries controlled by oppressive or unstable regimes. We are killing our economy at the same time that we are propping up our enemies.

I am totally sold on this effort and campaign by T. Boon Pickins to promote alternate energy sources.  Please take a moment and read his letter to those who care. Check out his website and join up and help educate people  about how things can be made so much better.

I'm passing this post from Mr. T.Boon Pickins's page.... Please check out www. pickinsplan. com and join up....

From Mr. T.

Boon Pickins,

Friends,

Every year we're sending almost $700 billion out of our nation's economy to foreign nations for their oil. That's four times the annual cost of the Iraqi war and almost one-and-a-half times the projected U.S. deficit for 2009. It ends up in the pockets of a few friends and a lot of enemies. Last year we sent more than $300 billion to countries controlled by oppressive or unstable regimes. We are killing our economy at the same time that we are propping up our enemies.

On January 20, 2009, a new President will take office and the new Congress will convene.

During the first 100 days of Congress, we want legislation to be passed creating policies that embrace domestic energy alternatives to reduce our dependence on foreign oil. Between now and then, we need to build an army to ensure our voices will be heard by the next Administration and Congress.

Call to Action for the Month of August:

1.

Please recruit 5 friends to join us at Push. PickensPlan. com.

Get everyone you know signed up--friends, family, neighbors, business associates.

2. During the August recess, many Members of Congress will be back in their home states and districts.

If they are in your area at a public event or appearing on a call-in radio show, please ask them the following questions:

- Do you agree that we need to slash our foreign oil dependence by at least 30% within 10 years?

- Do you agree that we need to generate at least 20% of our electricity from domestic renewable sources by 2019?

- Do you agree that we need to have incentives in place to get these technologies installed and operational within 10 years?

- Do you agree that private enterprise should provide the investment and execute the deployment with government clearing the way?

- Do you agree with the Pickens Plan?

We have created an event called August Call-to-Action on Push. PickensPlan. com where you can report the results of your outreach:

http://push. pickensplan. com/events/event/show?id=2187034:Event:648051

Also, continue to check the Push homepage for more information and updates.

I will continue to be in touch, and look forward to hearing from you as well.

Thank you.

Today I am remembering...My Grandfather (Mom's Dad) From where I get my fist name. Robert H. Harrison. Hack they called him was a great chef and cooked for his own restaurant and later the Chisholm Trail Hotel in Duncan Oklahoma.

He was a great man who I never ever heard of him treating anyone in a bad way. He spoke his mind and often. I miss him so much. He died when I was in the Navy in 1985.

The last time I saw him he was walking in his garden picking some chili peppers. To me he sort of talked like John Wayne. I always wanted to go fishing with him. But, never did. Oh...he could really bake bread and cherry pies. Wow he was a great cook!

Once while the rest of the family rested safely in the celler... a tornado was whisping by near the old country home.

Grandpa would not come down in the celler.. ( I must have been 7 or 8 years old) but I wouldn't leave his side, crying for him to join the family and me of course in the celler...he said calmly that (in my head the sound of his voice is clear as if it were yesterday) ''It's alright son....it's not comming this way.'' We stood there me with my arms tight around his legs tears in my eyes sure grandpa was going to be whisped away to Oz.

Many years later I came home to attend his funeral....walked past his coffin and placed my hand on his rough tough hands....and thought what a life he led...those hands had worked so hard. I miss my Grandfather so much.

As I last saw him...
