The popular Muenster/Dortmund Connection has confirmed their 1st festivals for 2010 and are already looking forward to playing live:

Hey friends, we are happy to announce some very cool new festivals for 2010: ROADBURN, SUMMER BREEZE and NOISEPOLLUTION.
We were very surprised and happy when Tom Gabriel Fischer called us personally last week to invite us to his “Only Death Is Real” day at 2010’s ROADBURN festival. Tom is a real artist and it feels great to be artistically respected by someone who deserves OUR deepest respect for his art created over the last two and a half decades. This is our second time at Roadburn (we already played in 2008) and it’s an honor to be on Tom’s wish list for this special and extraordinary event. We are really looking forward to getting the chance to witness Triptykon’s first ever live performance while having a great time at Roadburn, meeting a lot of nice and interesting people and bands as well as of course to present our latest album “Avoid The Light” live to open minded people from all over the world. We are also looking forward to Summer Breeze, a great festival which we will be finally playing for the first time ever alongside a lot of killer bands in a beautiful area. Last but not least we are also playing Noisepollution Festival. We already played there in 2008 and it was a blast. Back to Odenwald!
By the way: we finished the first song for our forthcoming album and we are really happy with it. More to come soon!

With influences ranging from Thrice, Jimmy Eat World and Brand New to Hot Water Music CAESARS ROME from Wales achieve a "wall of sound" with catchy verses followed by anthem-like choruses. Since their foundation in 2007 they have kept their consistent line-up featuring Jonathan Hopkins (guitar/vocals), Kyle Smith (guitar), Richard Berry (drums) and Ashley Cocco (bass).

In their first instance CAESARS ROME won XFM Radio's Unsigned Artist Of The Week that got them regular national plays. Soon after they did a BBC RADIO 1 Live Session including the recording of four tracks live and a live interview on the Bethan Elfyn Show in Wales which led to national plays on the Huw Stephens show. On several occasions CAESARS ROME were main support for their friends Funeral For A Friend (the above photo was taken by singer Matthew Davies-Kreye) and also supported bands such as InMe, Innerpartysystem and Twin Atlantic and The Xcerts.

Their debut-album “The Company We Keep” was recorded with Romesh Dodangoda (Manic Street Preachers, Kids In Glass Houses, Funeral For A Friend, The Blackout) in Long Wave Studios in Cardiff.

“The Company We Keep” will be out in Europe on February 22nd, check out the brand-new “High On The Nines” on their myspace (http://www.myspace.com/caesarsrome), the tracklisting will be as follows:

“The musical machine gun of Will Vokac and Ben Schreiber's finger-tapped guitars is still there, but the addition of Daniel Francis' fervent vocals has pushed the group into uncharted territory. One could go on and on about the ways in which Francis bounces from expression to expression, often ripping into a soulful cry before sinking into a whisper (give the standout “Built to Last” a try). His rambling lyrics drop facts, allusions, secrets, and tall-tales with equal earnestness and we're not sure whether to believe all of it or none of it. The sheer excitement his stories offer sprints arm-in-arm with the sparkling guitars with an incredibly balanced, energetic effect.” - Absolutepunk

Superball Music (home to celebrated acts such as OCEANSIZE and … AND THEY WILL KNOW US BY THE TRAIL OF DEAD) is pleased to announce their first worldwide signing of an American artist, Columbus Ohio's SIX GALLERY.

Whoever wanted to know how it’s like to be on tour with LONG DISTANCE CALLING should click here (http://vimeo.com/7683542) for livefootage, soundchecks and other insanity. This is also a “thank you!” from the bottom of the Muenster-Dortmund connection’s heart that goes out straight to their fans for the growing support.

„Hello friends, after the amazing feedback for “Avoid The Light“, the great shows and festivals right after the release of the album at the end of April as well as the tour we just finalized it is time for us to start working on the next album. Our first ideas sound really promising and diverse. It will be quite interesting to see where they will carry us. However, we are not in a rush, so don’t count a new album too soon. “Avoid The Light” still has a lot of life in it and needs to be nourished. Nevertheless, the next shows are already confirmed for January – see you there! LDC”

PURE REASON REVOLUTION

Young British act signs with SUPERBALL MUSIC

Fusion of ambient, electronic and alternative rock

Their signing of the young British band, Pure Reason Revolution, substantiates SUPERBALL MUSIC’s forward-looking concept of supporting and systematically promoting unusually talented and innovative musicians. The quartet (three guys and one girl) count among those contemporary rock acts whose style extends into the independent and alternative genres and whose unmistakable sound incorporates a wide range of contemporary directions.

Their impressive first album, The Dark Third (2006), was without doubt one of the most unusual and innovative debuts of recent years. The recording’s theme was that a third of our lives that we spend sleeping. It combined spacey ambient sounds with wiry Led Zeppelin riffs, sprinkled with unexpected polyphone harmony vocals and experiments with a fusion of Seventies prog structures and gritty indie sounds.

The charismatic voice of bassist Chloe Alper, who shares the vocals with band founder Jon Courtney is another distinctive element of the group’s sound and early hints from the studio suggest that album 2 will once again ..push the boundries.. this time drawing on the band’s electronic influences – Justice, Daft Punk, Soulwax, NIN, etc. resulting in a ..progressive.. hybrid of electronic/rock influences and their unique vocal harmonies."

Band manager Jonathan Cooke’s delighted comment on the signing: "It was refreshing to find a situation that combines the artist commitment and enthusiasm of an indie with the ambition of a major. Signing a longer-term deal with SUPERBALL MUSIC for album 2 onwards was an easy decision to make!" SUPERBALL MUSIC’s label boss Thomas Waber is obviously proud of the latest addition to his roster: "I am very pleased to be able to announce the signing of Pure Reason Revolution to SUPERBALL MUSIC. It really shows where we are going with the label and that we are working with young, hungry and very modern and talented bands that fit in with the formula of what we set out to do!"

Pure Reason Revolution are vocalist, guitarist and keyboardist Jon Courtney, bassist/vocalist Chloe Alper, guitarist/vocalist Jamie Wilcox and new drummer Paul Glover. The musicians originally hail from Reading in England but are now based in London.
