We are extremely excited to share some news with all of our fans, friends & family....... East of the Wall has signed to Translation Loss!  We are so fortunate to be on a roster full of artists who we respect and appreciate so much, not to mention having this excellent opportunity to do business with such a hard working operation of great people. On the road ahead we will be focusing extensively on writing, recording, touring, touring, touring.

Translation Loss will be releasing an split with Rosetta, Year of No Light & East of the Wall this December which will contain three new tracks from our camp.  We have about half of our next full length written, which thus far in content is a bit more technically involved than our last LP.  Keep up with us for news on releases and tour at www.eastofthewall.com & myspace.com/eastofthewall

We want to extend our thanks to all the people who have helped us along the way, most especially Brandon Helms, Dave Grossman, and Dave Witte.  Looking so forward to our time ahead with TL.

Cheers ----------East of The Wall

so i had to delete all the comments from the page, because some asshole embedded something that kept playing instead of mud button...so if you've been here in the past few weeks and heard some shit with vocals on it that really didn't sound like eotw, it probably wasn't. it should be able to be played unhindered now. special thanks to all 4,537,692,786 people who wrote/called me to alert me to the situation.

thanks.

It's finally here! Pre-orders for our Split EP with Rosetta and Year of No Light are available from Translation Loss Records. It will be out officially on December 1st, but its going to be a small pressing. Get your orders in early before it sells out. Go to translationloss.com/store to pick it up. I can't stress it enough, this thing is going to go fast so jump on it now before its too late.

We're really excited about our new material on this EP. It's a 3 part piece that we've affectionately titled "Scumbrella." The tracklisting is as follows:

I-Mud Button
II- Silt
III- Dirt Merchant

We've been playing these songs live a bit over the last few months and we couldn't be happier to share them with you all in recorded form. You'll also enjoy the Rosetta and Year of No Light tracks, obviously.

In other news, Farmer's Almanac will finally be available on ITunes in the next few weeks. It should be up and running by the beginning of November, and we'll obviously let you know once it's available for download. In the meantime, we have a new website coming that will feature a webstore. We'll be stocking it with some new t shirt designs and some other goodies, so be sure to keep a look out for that.

That's all for now, but there's a lot of good stuff going on that I can't really mention just yet (what a tease I am!). Stay tuned...

wow. we haven't posted any sort of update in a long time. here goes:

-writing for the next full length is in full swing. we have 4 songs complete. we have seeds for 2 or 3 more. they rock really hard. if you've seen us live in the last few months you've heard one or two of these songs. hopefully we'll be recording again later this year or early next year.

-you may have noticed that we haven't really played many shows recently. me and brett were out on tour with biclops, which basically took the whole month of june out of the equation. since we've been back we've been focused on writing fresh jams. this will be changing soon though. we're going to be looking to start booking shows again over the next few months. keep your eyes peeled for that.

-remember that split we recorded with rosetta and year of no light that we kept telling you was coming soon, except it never came? well, now it's actually coming soon. i can't give you too much detail at this point, but you'll be hearing about this release very very soon. it has a new home and a new release format. it's going to be mad sweet.

that's all for now. i know it seems like we dissappeared, but we're going to be back in a very big way very soon. thanks for paying attention in the meantime. cheers.

So you may have noticed we have 4 shows posted for the month of April. Seems like now would be a good time to explain a bit more in detail. Mike (drums) unfortunately won't be able to join us for these shows as he's attending to some other matters in Florida. We already had the shows booked when we found out Mike couldn't make it, so we decided to make the best of it and find a fill-in. After much deliberation, we realized the best guy for the job was already in the room. Our good friend Seth "Squid" Rheam (Biclops, Dilation) will be sitting in at all four shows. The first one will be at the Khyber in Philadelphia with Rosetta and Irepress. The next night we'll be playing a library in Haverford with Rosetta (who had the bright idea to get the 2 loudest bands on earth a gig in a library?). The following week, we'll be playing basement shows at the Stomping Grounds in Lancaster, PA and Updog in Pennington, NJ. There will be a bunch of sweet bands on both of these shows as well, including Isthmus, Cargo Cult Revival and A Fucking Elephant. We'll be rehearsing a bunch with Squid to get ready for these shows as soon as we're doing tracking the Biclops record. Any of you who have seen this guy play before know that if there is anyone on the face of the earth who is up to the Herculean task of attempting Mike's drum parts, it's definitely Squid. And yes, we are aware that this makes the lineup for these shows Biclops minus Alfie plus Beards. The incest continues at an astounding rate.

In other news, the artwork is done for the East of the Wall / Rosetta / Year of No Light split EP. As usual, Eric Nyffeler did an outstanding job. You're gonna love it, I promise. No clue when it's coming out. Hopefully soon. In the meantime, Beards and Brett have been churning out some fresh jams in their free time. I have a few ideas floating around. We'll be reconvening full time once the Biclops record is done to work on that stuff plus hopefully some new Postman Syndrome material. You're going to be so sick of us by the end of this year. I guarantee it.

hugs and kisses,

Where to begin? Let's start with SteveR (Asian Steve). Dude actually has a pretty awesome job. And he's good at it too. Those Dillinger boys make a real mess of things on stage: broken guitars, cables, mic stands, monitors, arms... and that was just the first song. SteveR makes it all better, running back and forth plugging things in, tuning the next guitar, taping things down, getting the next wireless mic queued, putting cymbal stands back in place. And he's pretty organized about it. He's got this everything in the right places and the second they start playing he just knows what to do. Don't bother that dude when he's In The Zone (ITZ).

Highlight of the evening: While watching the chaos from Steve's "office" in the back, you get a good look at the faces of people when they end up on stage. All of the sudden, the dude on stage is Ron is the Tongue. And he's just lying there while Ben sits on top of him and shreds. Maybe Kanye has a picture. He looked GOOD.

So yeah, Dillinger was awesome, as expected. Seeing them is always spectacular, but sharing a stage with them is a real treat. I have to say that I tremendously enjoyed the other bands as well. Knife the Glitter was fantastic, and I'm enjoying listening to their disc right now (want more). Dub Trio surprised me, but then I guess I didn't know what to expect. REALLY cool, as Kanye had tried to tell me. Hard and spacey...just like me. Overall, the lineup was one of the best we've been a part of. The caliber of the bands was top notch, but the combination of styles was even better. Like a thematic four course meal...yeah I don't know where I was going with that.

Yes, we played too. Great crowd in Baltimore: very receptive, and as they should be, seeing as how GOOD we were...

Thanks to the Elephant Fornicators for hauling down from NJ, and it was also awesome to have our West Coast Representative on hand, as well as several others we haven't seen in a while.

I apologize if it's evident from my ballyhoo that i haven't really slept yet. Trying to power through the rest of the day.

Hey everybody,

So on February 6th we're playing a show at the Ottobar in Baltimore, MD. We're opening for a little band you might have heard of. They call themselves....

The Dillinger Escape Plan!!!!

Uhhh yeah the gods of fortune have smiled upon us and we'll be sharing a stage with those dudes on one of only 4 U.S. shows they're doing in the near future. Also on the bill are Knife the Glitter, Caverns and Dub Trio. This show is going to be ridiculous. It's not sold out just yet, but it's going to be really, really soon. So if you want to come down and make some noise with us, get your head and your ass wired together right now.

On an unrelated note, just wanted to say a quick thanks to everyone who came out to the record release show at the Brighton Bar last Friday. We all had a blast and hopefully you did too. That's all for now. See you in Baltimore.

Hope everyone had a lovely holiday. While I'm sure you were all bummed out that Santa didn't leave a copy of Farmer's Almanac under your Christmas tree, the good news is it should be in your hands pretty soon. We got word today that the CD is being shipped to Forgotten Empire either today or tomorrow. Don't quote me on an exact turnaround time, but needless to say all of you that pre-ordered a CD should have it in yours hands really soon. And if you didn't pre-order a copy, there's never been a better time than now. Thanks again for your patience through all the delays and everything. We hope you're as psyched to have the record in your hands as we are.

In some other news, final details about our split ep with Rosetta and Year of No Light are being hammered out. Looks like it should be out sometime this spring. In the meantime, we have 2 shows booked for January so far. The first is going to be a house party extravaganza on January 10th with some of our best buddies (Biclops, All Parallels, A Fucking Elephant and So Is the Tongue). We're also going to be doing another local show on January 23rd. We'll be posting details on both shows pretty soon, so keep your eyes peeled.
