Current mood:  sad
Category: Music
There has been only one band, that meant the world to me before Kamelot and that had been the British hard rock band Little Angels in the early 90's. There had been many bands that I liked (still do), but non that I worshipped like Little Angels. Time has passed since then, but I still have a special place for them in my heart.

When the musicians of your favorite band are only a couple of years older than yourself, you don't expect them to die now or anytime soon. But when they do, it's hard to understand or accept.

Monday Morning, November 24th, Michael Lee, first drummer of Little Angels (later he played for Robert Plant, Thin Lizzy, Lenny Kravitz, The Cult, The Quireboys and lots of others) died, age 39 (!!). The cause was not revealed so far.

I read about it yesterday evening and I just thought 'oh, man - that's sad'. It didn't really sink in. Just now, returning from work, talking about it with my husband, it DID sink in. Talking about Michael and Little Angels brought all the memories back, stuff I hadn't thought about for so long. Like when he left the band in 1991 after 'Young Gods', when I had cried for days because I was so disappointed that he would not be part of my Little Angels anymore. Those little things, you know?

Now I have tears in my eyes again.

Rest in Peace Michael and thanks for everything.
