ROUGHEDGE.COM

Blending the works of Alabama Thunderpussy, Kyuss, Mazzy Star, and Jucifer into a potpourri of kick ass rock cohesion, Christine displays what a wild ride through the backwoods of Anytown, USA feels like. Using versatility to the fullest, Christine implements an intriguing array of unlikely stylistic twists and turns while maintaining a heavy-handed fuzz rock foundation throughout, showcasing not only their unique perspective but also this quartet's solid grooving chops along the way. -Mike SOS

ROCK SOUND MAGAZINE
"Hailing from Nashville, Christine are nowhere near as scary as you might expect of a band who Today Is The Day's unsettling frontman Steve Austin signed to his label, Supernova. They rock pretty solidly, however - marrying a truck of slide guitar and lap steel to bouncing-bomb stoner boogie. Frontwoman Stevie Bailey is 'Badasser''s strong link: much like Jennifer Herrema of Royal Trux / RTX, there's a great and ineffable character to her voice that overrides any lack of training or natural gift." Noel F. Gardner

METALREVIEW.COM
"Metal Review, I'm in love! And, just like real love, the events leading up to my outpouring of emotion for this fantastic three-piece from Nashville were confusing and totally unpredictable." Ian Chainey

DEADTIDE.COM
"At different times throughout Badasser I was reminded of Acid King, The Atomic Bitchwax, Witchcraft, Black Elk, High on Fire, Motorhead, and many more, but never lost sight of the fact that I was listening to Christine. That's a good thing. If you're looking for something different that isn't too far out there this may be your best bet." Tylor

PREFIXMAG.COM
"The stench of a thousand sweaty bikers commingles with the pleasant aroma of warm beer and pot smoke on the second full-length from Nashville's Christine. "Hell yeah!" moments abound as the hard-charging punk-metal of "How We Roll" collides into cosmic Kyuss worship on "Jaundice" and a seriously damaged southern doom blues jam, appropriately titled "Motherfucker." Maybe it should be the measure of a great metal band that it can throw in a beautiful ballad amid the jackboot rhythms without coming off as contrived (Christine does it with "Grave Lily"). Christine does everything right on Badasser, and that includes the vocals, which alternate between the bluesy, ballsy pipes of siren Stephanie "Stevie" Bailey and bass man Devin Pena's convincing hell bellow. "Badasser" isn't really a word, but we'll let Christine have it." Etan Rosenbloom

STONERROCK.COM
"Christine's Badasser could have been one of those albums that tries to offer a little bit of everything to everyone and fails to deliver on all counts, but the power of their songs ultimately redeems it."
