yuhyuhyuhyuhyeah! yuhyuhyuhyuhwhatnow! had our first pppwder trio practice yesterday and enjoyed the hell out ourselves, really. it was fun and nic and anna lirned the songs quickly and yes i do have a spellcheck on my internet thing but fuck you if you're gonna get all on me about that shit, dude. what are you, moussalini ? ( mousealeen ) [ grape drink ]

when we're all like crazy horse or whatever we'll start doing shows and kick the greater pacific northwest's ass, but in a loving way, like two friends having a good friend-fight, nothin more than a couple broken noses or whatever. you know how it is (unless your from portland, where the tough people don't live) (just kidding portland please don't hurt me) (but get a better nickname than "pdx." wtf? airport? doesn't even sound good rolling off the tongue. try "stallion's orchard" or "the building bar and frederick")

because, btw, it has been announced that we are the best band in eugene. well, actually, we were the best band in eugene before our first practice, and now we're the best band in oregon! even dead moon and the wipers and whatever band you're in. sorry! you have to be second best now! i guess!

(i didn't really mean that. i really have a lot of respect for some of the currently-functioning bands in this state.)

(but wa still has the drop on us by virtue of kill rock stars) (and other manifold olympia coolness)

and also i expect you all to drop a faidolla bill when we put out that record "triple rise." i swear you might enjoy it. please we ned da munny.

and no am not drunk or otherwise inebriated when writing these. grow an imagination, cunthead. (yes that's addressed to someone specific who will remain unnamed)

(no it's not the city of stallion orchard/building bar and frederick)

ok so we got a name for the new alby: "triple rise"

and we also got some artberk, like the cover, which you can look at when you click on onna de songs. it's pretty, ainit?

so when will the birth of this (and rcrd labl "newmorningrecordings") be sweetly and gingerly consummated into the world of a thousand americans' hearts and hands? i dunno. there's not much to do on the roadto the first pressing, and i'd like to get it done before friday.

whyday? because the other half of the triple rise lineup is leaving for the netherlands! for holland! for five months! really! five months! william! we'll miss him. and i'd like one of the last things he sees in the states to be a fatty stack of mintclean albums, ynow?

fortunately, william will be doing lots of fort-track recording in holland by himself, which will be great (see song "four" for an example of william's songs). he's kinda like lee to my kim gordan or something.

the other big news is this: the lineup for a certain kind's live manifestion (and quite possibly the lineup on the next alb) has been agreed upon. it is as follows:

me (cassidy): guitar/singing
nic (gusset): drums(/singing?)
anna cordis: bass/singing

bet you guys are psyched. i know i am. we'll have our first practice soon. when that happens, you fans over in japan'll probly feel the tremors.

Current mood:bomus!
please blieve we got the albeem done, babies and cute animals and shit! yeah!

the songs have all been recorded (we ended up with way more than an album's worth). we even mastered them. all we need to do now is find the cable that connects the thing to the computer so we can make them into disc. SO HARD TO FIND! WHERE IS IT? good god fucking shit dammit! the songs are trapped and are saying "halp!"

. that damned cable can't hide forever. if a certain kind is anything, a certain kind is tenacious. we will find it we will find it we will we will we will we will RESCUE YOU, PRETTY LITTLE SONGSIES! STAY STRONG!

yeah, though. the alby sounds good and hopefully you will enjoy it.

and then WILLIAM JAMESON will upload the songs onto this myspace page and grreeeeee it will be so cool because then yous guys can hear them and so "my, but am i ever impressed!" and we'll say "yeah, it took a lot of work to do that, except not really more like four days and it was fun and easy and anybody could do it and everybody should try."

yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah! i'm so freaking pumped!

disregard everything i've ever recorded up until now, cuz this new one really blows the shit outta that other snarky stuff. hoowee! yaaah! howl! great! good! awesome! everything! everyone! hoo!

Current mood:chomping coffeez
ok so today will be our third recording day. we've got like five songs recorded and all in all it's going astonishingly well. you know, everything down on the first take style well. so this is exiting. this is the part where a certain kind really becomes an awesome entity. cuz before it was just kind of gae, right?

plus, william is writing songs too. and singing. this is a very good thing, as i always wanted this "band" to be like a "collaborative" home recording thing, rather than just my solo gig or whatever. so i'm thinking that once this elpy is done, i'll do one with anna cordis.

did i mention that anna cordis is gonna do an alb soon? today's her first recording day. you guys should be excited for this.

and patrick hayden (of deke falcon, squids and livinginmyhouse fame) just recorded an excellent full-length at gung ho studios. "acoustic slint," anybody? it's pretty goddamn awesome.

all my friends are making records! the blimp is recording! where's yours? lemme guess, you just gotta set up a date w/ don at inner ear, right? bomus!

Current mood:about to rip into yr shit, man
william and i are going to start recording when the morrow's sun dawns on this young and frtl land .

we've already gotten together a couple times to work on songs, and that's gone very well, i daresay. we really have to get the hell to work, though, because in a month our friend william is going to stay in holland for a half a year or so.

i figure him and i will record as much together as we can, and i'll wrap up the loose ends if we don't get it all done by the time he leaves.

we've agreed to try and make this one sound real good, but who knows how that will work out. it's the kind of thing that takes a lot of patient time, and a lot of time is not what we have and i was never blessed with inordinately large reserves of the patience, you know?

maybe once that's done i'll take another stab at figuring out how the hell to upload songs onto this myspace. it's funny: i've always believed that the only worthy function myspace serves is a resource for tracing obscure bands and pockets thereof, and that a band's myspace is only important when it has songs up on it. good thing i'm a shameless hypocrite, eh?

anna cordis is doing an album soon, which should most likely be stupidly stunning. i don't think she has any sort of music related webpage, but she'll probably talk about its progress on her blog.

i seriously believe that everything i have recorded up until this point is at best just okay, and that, starting tomorrow, all that will change. be prepared!

in other news, the new shellac record is owlesome.

and i i just got fucking serious on the "bands i like" section. man i like renegade deathbombed that shit. ha! now you can all be impressed by my record collector chops! i have a second pressing copy of live at leeds! with inserts!

okay, i've decided to do things in this order:

1. record an album with friend and "multi instrumentalist" william jameson. it will have drums. i have like 10 or 12 songs written, and they keep coming.

2. use that to sort of decide what i want to do as far as making a certain kind of rock band. possible members include: william j., anna ponto and jesse lynch. local hero nic gussettt (another "multi instrumentalist") has offered his services as well, so i might exploit that opportunity. who knows? not i, said the brown eye.

3. maybe do that tour with undermind, which would be in owgust. i'll also try maybe to set up some acoustic shows in the meantime. but where would i do that, like, cosmic pizza? yuck. maybe i'll just play for my friends in my back yard. but who wants that?

dudes, i dunno. i am pretty psyched about my new songs. it's nice when the new things you write are markedly better than the old things you wrote, ya know?

Current mood:shitting crippled
unfortunately, the title of of this post has nothing to do with its contents. i'm not the one to go for if yer wanting rowbot secs, you prevert.

i am, however, the one to go for regarding the latest word on A CERTAIN KIND.

i guess there's only two things:

i might be doing a little tour down to california this summer, tagging along with none other than local hip hop hero undermind. i've been invited, but it's still in the very early planning stages. needless to say, that would be awesome, and would culminate in seeing the wu tang clan live. no fucking shit.

in preparation for that possibility, i'm working on getting my solo acoustic thing down, and thinking about doing some practice shows in eugene. i

the other big thing is that i'm starting to think about creating a three-piece rock version of a certain kind. that would be very fun, not to mention very loud.

ok, that's all, i think. it'll probably end up being a while before i make that album, but nobody's holding their breath, so i'm not too worried about that.

i wonder what a roabot's vagina would smell like . . .

oh yeah: if you wanna get really depressed, you should watch this. don't try and say i didn't warn you . . .

remember when i was all like "the lad from whom i had borrowed the digital eight track on which i had recorded all things crtn kind asked for it back so now i have to say goodbye to great evergreen studios and record a sparse acoustic/singing record on a little tape recorder (of which there exists a picture on this myspace page)"?

well that boy, in his love for all things reptillion, has decided to get rid of a lot of his crap. you know, the old material purge game. we all love it. point is, he's giving me the damn eight track. glory be, eh?

so i'm pretty psyched for the phoenixation of GREAT EVERGREEN STUDIOS. i'm gonna take the songs i've been writing for this album and add some extra instrumentation, including drums. that's right! drums! for the ferst time ever on crtn knd! yeah! i can bring my kit home and set it up in my room and go "bum bum bap." this will surely change the face of the werld as we now know it.

but what, then, will i name the next record? well, i'm thinking "transparent tigers and towers of blood" as written by my man jorge luis borges, in the story _Tlön, Uqbar, Orbus Tertius_ .

in other news, i still can't figure out how to put songs up on this hellaciously goddam fucking myspace.

as seger (bob, not peete, you fools) said: "it's a brand new morning."

so here's what i'm thinking. remember when i said: "i just made these two eps, i could put them to gether for albumy, but i won't"? well, i just composited them. came up with a good order to put the songs from _torchthrower_ and _late start wednesday_ and so now there's this certain kind album, which i will of course name _the wednesday morning torchthrowers' consortium_

you know what i'm thinking? maybe, in a layze sort of way, i'll consider getting some geto-trill record label to put it out. you know, since phr iz ded [*pours a forty*]. or maybe i'll just ship it off to k or kill roxtarrs or maybe tuchngo, ya know?

so, in summation: kihachi okamoto's samurai films depicted the tokugawa shogunate as an ustable and repressive regime, whose downfall was inevitable. i know i can do better than that, but it's due tomorrow, guys.

until then i'll just burn this album for anyone who wants it.
