Hey friends,

As you can tell from our show schedule, we have a busy month of August coming up. Our CD release/tour kick-off show is going to be on August 16th at Holocene with Hey Lover and Dirty Mittens, two amazing local bands. It's going to be a costume ball of sorts, all in line with the National Geographic-inspired content of the new record. So wear an animal costume or dress up as a '60s era naturalist/explorer and add to the spirit! A prize will go to the best dressed audience member.

The day after our CD release show we leave for a week-long west coast tour. If you have friends down the coast, please tell them when we're coming through. With the price of gas as it is, we need good turn-outs at these shows so the trip will pay for itself!

Thanks for your support,
BHH

Hey folks,

Just wanted to give a little explanation for postponing our CD release show. Our bassist and vibes player Peter Valois broke his arm in a bike accident this weekend. Thankfully it wasn't worse than it was! He's recovering, but we won't be able to play any shows while he's healing. We'll reschedule the release show and let you know more when we know more.

Thanks for your patience!

Best,
Andy

Holy shit! We finally got ’National Road’ back from the press on Thursday, and it looks & sounds pretty damn good if I may say so myself. More than two and a half years in the making, this is a pretty huge step forward for me personally and for us as a band. We’ll be selling the records on CD Baby soon, otherwise come pick it up at a show or send us a message about ordering one.

Can’t wait for you all to hear it!

XO,
Andy

Hi folks,

We're happy to say that we've just finished mastering the album with the illustrious Jeff Saltzman this past week. We're really happy with the result and hope that you are too! We're busy putting the artwork together now, and are shooting for a late winter/early spring release. Until then, we'll post a few of the tunes on the ol' myspace page as a preview.

Pumpedly yours,
BHH

Hey friends-

You might have noticed we finally posted a new song on our site-- "Treasure of the Everglades," based on a 1965 National Geographic article (big surprise) about tree snails in the Florida Everglades. It's our first recording with our new drummer Dusty, and it also features our friend Paige on back-up vocals. We are officially starting work on our new album, based entirely on NG material, due out who knows when. Keep checking back for new tracks... we'll probably be posting them as we finish them.

Hope all is well, and we hope to see you soon.

XOXO,
Bark, Hide and Horn

So we've been super-lucky lately to get a bit of attention from the local press. A few weeks ago Andy did a solo podcast for the Portland Mercury, which you can access here: http://www.portlandmercury.com/podcasts.
Adam Gnade, the Mercury music editor, did a little review of that podcast on Urban Honking, which you can read here: http://www.urbanhonking.com/teamtinnitus/.
Finally, Gnade also wrote a feature on us for the Mercury, complete with an interview, which you can read here:http://www.portlandmercury.com/portland/Content?oid=39356&category=22153.

Also, we have finished mixing and mastering our EP, so now it's just a matter of reproducing it and doing all the artwork. Our plan is to have it done by the end of May/early June. Hopefully we'll have some sort of release party/basement show to celebrate. We'll keep you posted. For the time being, you can hear some of the new mixes here on myspace.

Keep checking in for more news!

Hey folks-

We started work today on our first legit EP. Our buddy Peter is making it possible by engineering/producing at his home studio. Today we finished a rough mix of "Our Only Native Stork," one of our National Geographic songs. It's up on our profile now. So check it out, download it, share it, and stay tuned for new tracks. The whole thing will hopefully be done early next year.

Our new pal Neil recorded our set at Mississippi Pizza last weekend, which is where "Firefly" and the new "Baby I Love You" come from.

Thanks for listening!
