Haleakala (reminiscent of Maui) is about my favorite place in the world, Maui. This is one of my favorite pieces to play on guitar. I play lead/rhythm guitars on it as a remix of jazz classic "night and day" by cole porter to spoken word poetry by IXL.

IXL: Live at the BABYLON. FRESNO, CA.

Video I made for my homie and local Fresno artist: IXL. Live at the Babylon. Performing Songs from MENTAL ARMY. I always wanted this to be out there because true artists need to be heard. I had fun improvising with a two camera shoot. It's abstract, but hopefully you will enjoy it. This video was done in behalf of N2music TV. -DAKIRA

As you may or may not know, all of the answers to life are written..only if you search with your heart to find it. God...what an universal and abstract word. What does it mean to you???

To me God is apparent in everyday reality. It's the reason why I exist and recieve the blessings I do in my life. There are many examples of wisdom such as Plato..which generally states that life is about finding the source of where we come from..Another example is the Bible. Now , this word may evoke several responses, but I think there are many universal examples and sources of learning.....if a text has lasted through time and affected so many people, I think there must be some truth in it..People have used these texts for their own selfish desires for control through religion, but the source is there if you search for it dilligently with the eyes of your heart.

One example that I like to use is from Ecclesiastes. Which basically states, "there's nothing new under the sun" Which I interpret as technology may advance, but people still have to go through the same struggles spiritually since the beginning of mankind. King Solomon had all of the riches and women you could ever want, and before he died, he realized the only thing that mattered on the planet we called earth is serving God. Now what is serving God?? .love .humility...servitude..patience...hard work..submission....

It doesnt seem logical to put your faith and heart into something you can't see with your eyes...but if you put your heart and faith into people, relationships, and the material world..you will almost be let down. Put your faith into God, and you can't go wrong because God will never fail you. You may be put through trials and tribulations, but it's a process that's preparing you for something bigger.
