My good friend Lexington Wolfcraft, the creator of Switchyard's Hybrid Moments video, has a new animation he created with his brother Joe. They were kind enough to invite me to be the voice of the young Republican daughter, Deanna. She only has a couple of lines, but I had a really great time doing it. I present to you, Like Father Like Son. Check it out and rate it if you can. You never know, they just might get to turn it into a full-fledged TV show.

What used to be a blog for Switchyard updates is now a bone yard for various writing endeavors. If you are inclined, it lives here. Stop by and leave me a comment, because I am a glutton for messages from the outside world.

I used to fantasize about being quoted in Rolling Stone magazine. I'd say really cool things like, "When I was a child, I talked to lint," and "I think the green Skittles taste like Windex®." Unfortunately, Rolling Stone never gave me an interview. But Short End Magazine did! I am quoted a lot - it's a dream come true. Check it out here.

Salt of the Sea is in the running to be the August winner on Ourstage.com. That means Switchyard will be eligible for the grand prize at the end of the year. Winning is fun! I know you are all busy, which is what makes your effort so wondrous. Salt of the Sea is competing with the other top songs in their genre for August. Many of you voted already to help me get through to this last stage, and for that I thank you. We must endure one more round of battle. The procedure is as follows: Go to ourstage.com. Click on JUDGE. Vote for the songs you like best. When Salt of the Sea pops up, click the "BY FAR" button. Repeat as often as possible. The contest ends in just a few hours, so action must be taken quickly. If you do vote, drop me a note and let me know so I can tell you how awesome you are. I'll even buy you a latte. You love lattes. I hope this plea for help finds you happy, healthy and thriving. Your friend always, Rachel B.

Through the miracle of Snocap technology, you can now purchase Switchyard tracks directly from myspace: http://www.myspace.com/switchyardAnd if you like to read, Switchyard has a new blog address. Originally intended for Switchyard music news, it has since become a junkyard of essays, articles and other cerebral scraps. http://www.switchyard.blogspot.com/

Some of you might be familiar with an organization called TAXI, the "world's leading" independent A&R company. I was asked to write an article about my experience with them for their newsletter. It is online here if you care to read it: Checkered TAXI?
