hello dear box setters,

all go in boxsetogorsk. thanks for your help with naming steel cities for our steel city suite. we have chosen the following:

sheffield (UK), magnitogorsk (Russia), duisburg (Germany), dnipropetrovsk (Ukraine), although not necessarily in that order.

in other news, the box set have made a very good friend in The Arts Tower, who is a very big building in sheffield. we like his no-nonsense, geometric perspective on life, so we wrote a little theme tune for him.

we might play a concert at some point in the near future, we've been a long time out of it, and apart from the constant nagging from certain folk, we're itching to tell some new stories and try out our new acting skills. plus, casiopop is apparently a kazillion times cooler than it was 14 months ago.

the box set, as you may have noticed, have recorded a demo. it is a rather slack-jawed affair, but one demo is better than zero demo. if you're thinking mathematically, it is in fact infinitely better, and this pleases us.

furthermore, le set de box (as they are known back some in boxsetogorsk) are working on a suite of songs, dedicated to cities around the world that are famed for their steel production.

if you know of a city (asides from sheffield, UK and magnitogorsk, Russia) that produces a lot of top class steel, do let us know.

we've got a new baby. she is a little version of an organ i know and love and we hope she will grow into a beautiful big choad of a musical beast.

ever since the box set's inclusion on the compilation entitled 'thee sheffield radiophonic workshop', people have been showing the box set a lot of love. in public, in private, however you want. there's been a lot of love.

it has been loved, that the box set no longer need them dirty words to make dirty music. they just require good words and dirty sounds. the kids love that. and the box set loves you, punk!

14/07/05 - jamaicans playing dominoes. were not expecting, on a quiet thursday night in the pub, to have phrases such as 'golden showers' and 'fucking spank me' to be thrust into their ears. the box set apologise for this.

06/08/05 - small children. whilst walking in their family orchard, they did not know the box set were playing. now fully aware of the definitions of words such as 'cystitis', 'dogging' and the process of 'coming on someone's face'. reports of old country folk in the vicinity also reported. the box set apologise again.
