Please check this video demo, because 'This is YOTR': http://www.vimeo.com/yotr
The YOTR project made her debut in 2007 at the electronic music and arts festival Sónar in Barcelona. Siem Nozza, Rubin van Kooyk and Younes Riad; artists from varied disciplines gathered for a new kind of audiovisual experience exploring the interaction between visual and auditive art, both digital as well as analogue.
A film, live bass guitar 'n efx, mics, drum computers, live sampling, two laptops, midi controllers. No conventions. A continuously re-edited movie with recent life shots, scenes and animations emphasized by electronics and deep bass. Every now and then the film is the guide, but other momentums the sounds take over. YOTR is an atmosphere.
Supported by a bizarre mix of live noise, minimal music, break core, techno, drones, IDM, freejazz, house, ambient, stoner rock and dub, experiment is the bottom line.
Since Sónar '07 YOTR shared stages with artists like Chris Clark, Dynamix II, Rob Hall, Aufgang, Ceephax Acid Crew, Jazzsteppa, N-Type, Daniel Bell, Loefah. Monolake and Akufen.
The YOTR's constantly research and develop instruments and tools for their electronic performance arts with software (Max/MSP) and their bare hands. At their latest show they hadn't seen the movie yet and therefore had to immediately react to what they and the audience saw for the first time, to create a whole new edgy atmosphere.
The project is laborious and therefore shows are rare. YOTR bread boxes will be in stores soon though.
