So its been ages since I've given a proper update...
I've been working since May at a manufacturing company that makes fiberglass as a cost analyst. Its interesting what 18 months off of work does to you... I really like the job, and it sure is nice to get a paycheck again (tho here, I have to spell it "paycheque".
Other stuff: We are moving, finally decided to make the move into a larger apartment. A nice big two bedroom on the river with a big balcony and a nice view. And a dishwasher! finally! We move in this week. Now starts the task of finding furniture to put in it. The best part is we finally have enough room for family and friends to visit-yay!
Our two year anniversary is coming up in less than two weeks and things are better than ever! Jeff has also been in touch with his (soon to be 17 year old )daughter who lives in Calgary. She will be coming to visit soon. This excites me and makes me nervous at the same time, it should be interesting to say the least!
hmmm, what else... my visit to the states was short and sweet. I didn't get to see many people - spent most of the time with my family. I did get to see a few friends, but not everyone, there just wasn't time. We had a great time tho, and I'm glad my family finally got to meet Jeff.
Oh, and our XBOX 360 rocks. Im addicted. :)

So, I received this message today from Canada Immigration :
..>
|
We started processing your application on August 16, 2006.
|
Medical results have been received.
|
|
We sent you a letter on February 14, 2007 to xxx xxxxx Ave, Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, about approval in principle for you to become a Permanent Resident of Canada.
Know what that means? My first stage of resident approval is finished. I can now:
1. Apply for a work permit (WOO HOOO!!! I can finally work!!)
2. Apply for my Social Insurance Number
3. Get Health Care
Its been such a long process, and there is finally an end in sight! Of course, I must give the government more money for the permit, then more money still to finalize my permanent resident card, but HEY! its something at least.
Im a happy camper today! | ..>

So, I've been neglectful of my blog lately, Sorry about that... I've actually been quite busy lately... Here's whats going on... Saturday - Jeff and I will be having our ONE YEAR anniversary!!! I can't believe its a year already!! Its been quite a year, so many changes to make! I'm very happy and Jeff is such a wonderful man, I love him very much.
And I'm loving Canada, too! I've met some really great people here!
Also,. The gardening was a success! We had green beans, onions, carrots, beets, zucchini, squash, pumpkins, cucumbers, and a crapload of tomatoes. We are still up to our necks in tomatoes. Now, most of them are green ones. We are trying our best to ripen them, and do some canning. Im such a housewife now... :)
And, in other news... I'm working, but not for pay. I'm a volunteer at the Museum of Manitoba I'm doing several things there. One day a week, I work on the Nonsuch, a sailing ship that is a replica of a merchant ship from the 17th century used to start the fur trade between England and Canada through the Hudson's Bay. I also work in the museum shop, and have just started training for the Education Program. I will be giving tours through the museum and teaching classes to students on field trips about various topics - from forensic science to the history of manitoba. Its been keeping me busy and my brain active.
Also, my immigration paperwork is finally in process!!! They actually have given me a client ID number where i can keep updated as to where they are at in the approval process. Thats it for now I think, just thought i'd send out an update since it had been awhile...

OK, So, this hasn't happened in 18 yrs or so... I just got stung by a bee. Where, you say? On the FOREHEAD! I was riding my bike and something hit me on the head. I brushed at my bangs, thinking it was a leaf or bug, whatever. the damned thing then proceeded to sting me in the middle of my forehead. it HURTS! I'm 'lergic, at least I used to be. Feeling kinda woozy, but still upright. sigh.

I'm having my monthly need for chocalate right now...
Here's something interesting I've noticed... I can't find Hostess Ho-Ho's here. I don't know why... I've seen Twinkies, and Ding Dongs. But guess what, they aren't called Ding Dongs here, they are called "King Dons". Weird. But NO Ho-Ho's! They have the Little Debbie equivalent, swiss cake rolls, but sorry, not nearly the same thing.
Do I just happen to be at the wrong stores? Is there a import of Ho-ho's somewhere in winnipeg that I don't know about? Just wondering...
mmmmmmmm chocolate.......

Can you believe its June already? Its amazing how fast time is moving! I've already been here over six months, and married for almost eight... I've never gone through so many changes in such a period of time. For different reasons its been exciting, scary, happy, sad and wonderful all at the same time.
One thing is for sure, I am happy here. I have married the most loving, caring man - I can't believe how lucky i am!
And though i do miss my home, friends and family... , its so great to start feeling comfortable with a new home, new friends, and new family!

Well, I haven't been able to work since moving here to Winnipeg. However, I did start finally doing *something*
I started selling Pampered Chef. Now, I know, most people don't like those parties that sell candles, home decor, etc... They are boring and who wants to pay $65 for a candle sconce. PC parties are much more fun... we make a recipe or two, drink and eat.
Anyway, so, here's my situation... I don't really know many people here in Winnipeg yet, so I could use your help... If you know anyone (or yourself) who would be interested in hosting a cooking show, or pass around some catalogs, I would really appreciate it. If you have never heard of Pampered Chef, here's the Site . Thanks so much for any help.

Well, I have a new phone number, if you have the old one, you can still text or leave me a voice mail for a couple days yet. or email me and i'll give you the new number...
So, good news, I have a job interview on Friday. Wish me luck!
Icky news, still don't have a computer. I've been making brief stops at the local internet cafe to keep in touch, but I know I"ve been lax, so I apologize if I haven't been as myspace social as usual.
Other than that, all is good. It hasn't been too bad here weatherwise, pretty close to Chicago weather so far, but we'll see...

Silly myspace. Making me a year older before I'm ready. If I'm on your favorites list, it shows me as 36. DAMMIT! I'm not ready!!! I still have another week!!!
In other news... My problems really are insignificant as compared to others i know. There are a few people very close to me in my life right now that are going through some difficult times. Let me know if there's anything I can do for you, I know there isn't much from where i stand. Just know I love you!!
