My word - it has been nearly a year since my last journal update. Clearly frequent blogging is not my, um, trademark...

But the exciting news is that I have officially started recording my second album! I am really excited for it... My brother, Curt, flew in from Michigan to record drums on three songs. And my local bass man Bernard put down tracks for four songs. Next month Adam and Matt - bass and drums from None But This Time will fly out to record six more songs. Then Myra will record cello for a few.

I will try to make more frequent updates as things progress.

Hey - my brother and his friends put together a video for the Doritos Crash the Superbowl contest. He's the one in the blond wig singing...

You can see it here.

If you get a chance, please check it out here. And if you like it, please give it a positive vote!

Thanks!

I apologize that it takes me so long to get to friend requests...if you sent me one, please be patient, I'll get to it, but it may take a while!

P.S. Sometimes it takes me SO long, that older add requests disappear. If this happens to you, and you can find it in your heart to send another - I'll add you. The key word here is eventually. And patience. So I guess there are two key words...

I'm going to be taking some time away from performing for a while to focus on writing and recording for the next album! In the meantime though, I've taken on a musical side-project - as drummer for the band Sentinel. I'm excited – it's a while since I've been able to flex my drumming muscles. We've already played two shows and are continually booking more. Come check us out sometime!

I'm not sure when the next album will come out, but stay tuned. I've got some songs I'm really excited about! If I do play a show in the next several months, it will probably be  fairly spontaneous. Updates will be posted here and through my e-newsletter. If you are not already signed up, hop aboard by clicking here!

Adios,
David

Hi -

I'm compiling a list of places to include on a future tour! I prefer playing towns where there are friendly faces waiting to say hello.

If you like my music and would like me to come to your area (can be anywhere in the world!), please send me a message saying:

1) Your town

2) Nearby major cities (helps for planning)

3) Can you recommend good venues?

4) Would you be willing to help me promote the show?

5) Would you be willing/able to host a house concert? (With enough interest these can be great & intimate shows.)

6) Would you be interested in hosting an album listening session? (People gather to listen and discuss my CD, None But This Time. I'll provide cool materials and free CDs to the hosts.)

Many thanks - hope to see you soon!
David

I wanted to share this wonderful honor I've just received:

"IntegrativeSpirituality.org has recognized your music as beautiful, inspiring and coming from and bringing others to a deeper spiritual connection with the Ever Present Origin of all reality. We feel that art such as yours has a uniquely effective ability to uplift the human spirit and inspire wisdom and healing from within.

In our organizational quest to help bring about a better, healing world, we believe the work of artists such as you is both essential and critical. To express our gratitude for your artistic contributions to society, we would like to formally honor you on our web site as our Musical Artist of the Fall Quarter 2006."

What a cool award! Truly, want I want to most in life is to help lighten and deepen people's hearts & spirits. To think that my music is having this impact on even just one other, makes me very happy.

Take care and remember – love now, not later. Later never comes…

I now have some free David Serotkin ringtones available at http://dhsmusic.mstore.xingtone.com

The only thing is my phone's so old - it can't play them!

I'd be very thankful to anyone who could test them out and give me feedback. I want to make sure they work, sound good (volume, not distorted, etc.).

Your help will be greatly appreciated!
Gracias,
David
