Its been a while since our last communication so we thought that it's about time for an update on what we've been up to over the past months. Things have been busy with the pace hardly missing a beat since the closure of the original site, with most of the current projects being completed between the Wareemba and Baulkham Hills Studios. Aside from Ian being away on Tour for most of Feb and March (playing Bass) with Mat McHugh, it's been all systems go.

Some recent projects include...

Our Featured track 'Woo' which is the second single from The Kandy Apples forthcoming EP ... due to launch June 20th @ the Civic Hotel Sydney. Meaghan, the singer from the band is currently starring in '6 beers of separation' reality tv show... see posters and Ads everywhere you go

Fait Accompli - finished recording and mixing a new album which was the last project started at the old Castle Hill site. Their debut single 'Ride' has been mastered by Don Bartley @ Benchmark mastering and synchronized to a brand video clip.

The Trouble With Virginia recorded an EP ... which is available to download from their site

Baba O'Riley recently manufactured an EP which looks as Sexy as it Sounds. It is being launched this Friday the 5th of June at Candys' Apartment in Kings Cross... check out their video for The Only One on their myspace

Steve Edmonds
came in to work on a soundtrack for a new Animation series. The music featured Gordon Rytmeister on drums, with Steve covering all the other instruments and lead Vocals and Kel Elsom on Backing Vocals.

We think we managed to capture the energy which Nimeo deliver live on their self titled EP ... but you can be the judge of that simply by following these 5 steps
1. catch them round town
2. have yourself a boogie
3. buy the CD
4. play it at home
5. Get back to us with the results ... we bet you'll still be dancin

Newcastle band Benjalu took time out from touring to RECord their new EP 'Waterwalls'

Superb Lyrebird continue working, tracking more layers of guitars, strings, didgeridoo, vocals, baritone saxamaphone and Synth.

The Walk On By recently released a Vinyl single 'Delilah' which we recorded, mixed and mastered with them in a day. You can get your filthy little hands on this 1 @ Repress Records (Newtown).

Ian steps up the work-load on Angus and Julia Stonesalbum ‘A Book Like This’ - putting together a mobile studio at their Newport beach home to catch them in their natural environment. The album reaches No. 6 on the ARIA chart.

December saw Cog complete tracking on their album. After running out of time in the US due to touring commitments, they came in to The Gate to finish off vocals and guitars and other bits and pieces. The tracks were then sent back to the US for the final mix.

*** ANNOUNCEMENT *** A Tornado of Termites tears through The Gate

It is with an infected ear-drum (heavy heart) with which we must make this statement ...

Due to an infestation of Termites the site of Noisegate Studios is unfortunately set to be demolished. After several inspections and many meetings with the building owners, the decision was made to terminate the lease as the site has been found to be unsound (ironically enough).

The Rehearsal Rooms will cease activity as of the 24th of November. They will remain out of operation until a new location can be determined.

The Recording arm of Noisegate Studios will continue on without interruption to scheduled recording and production sessions. A mix room with a small recording space will be utilised in addition to our already existing fully functional mobile studio. Temporary sites have been arranged for larger tracking projects. A further announcement will be made as soon as permanent arrangements have been secured.

While heading into a new era of Noisegate, we'd like to send out a MASSIVE thank you to all the bands/artists which have jammed and recorded with us over the years and making The Gate a part of their musical lives, we hope you join us at The New Gate

Keep on Rockin'
